Ok, so i found a stray kitten dummped and crying in the woods across the street, i managed to lure her out and grab her, but i have no clue how to take care of kittens. Ive only taken in adult cats, and the two i have dont like this little girl. I currently have her confined to my room with a small water dish and some cat food that i soaked in water, i also have a makeshift littler box, im not sure what to do now, because she crys constantly. And only stops when shes in my lap, but its 1am and she wont stay on the bed so sleeping is out of the question. I also cant afford to take her to a vet

    Any advice?

P.s. I checked when i found her, she looks like a girl. She also has unusually clean ears for being dumped in the woods

Quick update since i posted this, shes fallen asleep and i was able to move her to the bed so i might be abl to catch some zz’s

She cries because she’s scared and lonely. I’m guessing she has a warm snuggly space away from household traffic? If you haven’t already, make a nest for her. She cannot regulate body temperature so she must be kept warm. I think the best way is to place a heating pad, on LOW, covered by a towel and a soft blanket. Be sure to provide a “cool” spot for her to crawl if she gets too warm. I recommend getting her a soft squishy toy and put it in her nest. Wee kits usually snuggle up to the toy. It will give her comfort and extra warmth.

KMR concentrate tends to give kits constipation and the liquid does the opposite. Some vets. don’t know about Goats’ milk but here in TDKland, we recommend Goats’ milk for kittens. Cats are lactose intolerant and can’t digest cows milk. Goats’ milk is full of nutrients, probiotics and gentler on their tummies. This can also regulate the poop. You can find it in the dairy section or the concentrate in the baking aisle. Mix the concentrate 1:1 with water or pedylite. If, at any time, they seem lethargic put a dab of Karo syrup or honey in their mouth.

Also, a smidgen of mineral oil in their formula can usually help them poop. You can put a dab of Neosporin on her bum if she gets sore. She needs to poop but she doesn’t know how to do it on her own. Here’s a video showing how to help her poop.

We’re not vets we’re experienced cat meowmies. All the information we’ve gained, we share so please come back if you have other questions.

Here’s another link with good information on raising your wee kits:

Thanks for the advice I did try making a den for her but whenever I put her in it she hop out and wouldn’t stay in even if I put one of my stuffed animals in there. I don’t have a heating pad available so I tried putting a warm bottle of water in stock and setting that in there and she didn’t want any of it. she ended up sleeping with me in the folds of my blanket because I sleep with a very heavy comforter. we are also unable to go get goat’s milk or kitten food so are there any alternatives to trying to feed her. I also don’t think she was weaned 100% because she keeps trying to chew on my fingers and she turned her nose up at solid food even wet cat food. I’ll go ahead and try to help her poop because she hasn’t, that’s far as my knowledge, hasn’t gone to the bathroom at all the little litter box that I gave her but that just could just because she wasn’t litter trained
