First of all, I was so surprised and excited to see that Lucky had been chosen as today’s kitten on the front page! YAY! Lucky would like to thank all the fans! LOL :p

Anyways, I had written a couple days ago how the family friend who had found Lucky, ended up spotting the mama cat & other babies. She ended up trapping Mama and bringing the babies in too! They are now in her garage with a heater, (I am in NY so it gets FREEZING at night outside) and food, water and a litter box for mama! I am so happy she ended up being able to bring them into a safe, warm place. Now the mom will be spayed after the babies are done nursing, and the babies will find good homes! She is actually keeping one of the kittens!

The real question is, she has spotted fleas on some of the kittens and we were trying to figure out what the best and safest option would be to get rid of them on mama & babies. They are 3 weeks old today. Thank you for your help!!

The safest options would be either diatomaceous earth or dawn baths for the kittens. If possible, you can treat mama with some advantage/frontline, and bathe all of the kittens in dawn and use a comb to get the fleas off. Hopefully then the fleas that start on mama will die, and the few that might get away can be bathed off (:
