My cat recently had 4 kittens and they all seemed very healthy until Saturday morning. One of the babies started becoming a little lethargic, but I thought it was probably because he had been playing a lot in the last day or so. At about 8 p.m. he wasn’t even picking his head up any more so I knew there was something seriously wrong. I took him to the emergency vet but unfortunately he passed away a few hours later from flea anemia. The vet gave me some tips for the other 3 babies, so I immediately bought a flea comb and some high protein food for them and started their treatment. Now 2 of the others are extremely sick and I’m afraid one of them isn’t going to make it through the night. I can’t afford to take them to the emergency vet as they charge $150 just to walk through the door, and I already spend $500 trying to save the other one. If they make it through the night I’m going to take them to my regular vet the second they open, but I wanted to know if anyone had any advice on how I can help them until then. It was heartbreaking enough losing one, I cant stand losing the others, too.
