My dad is the farting KING, I swear….his nickname among his co-workers was “Boomer” (lol)

On the other hand, I -never- heard my mom fart.

the last few months of Velvet’s life she was a stinky poop and fart girl. i just assumed it was the food she was eating. getting anything into that kitty was a chore, and one i’d willing to have back…

This post made me laugh. Lillie doesn’t really fart much, but when she does, it clears the room. For being so small and petite I never imagined her to create such an odour! Poor thing! Lol. I’m convinced she is smiling when she’s done it too! Possibly cause she is not the one gagging!

My kitten has this problem also. I adopted her and I thought maybe it was my food she wasn’t used to, but I have had her for over a month and she still does it. I have noticed that it happens if I accidently frighten her, or she is being disciplined. Is this normal???

Hi, Jenn, welcome to TDK. It doesn’t sound very common but it doesn’t sound unusual either. When you say ‘discipline her’, what are you doing? You don’t want to teach your baby to be frightened of you and cats are like kids, they respond better to positive praise etc when they’re doing well than to negative attention when they’re doing something wrong.

Let’s say that she is chewing at the carpet, I will go up to her and say “No” loudly and clap my hands or something like that. If I am behind her and she doesn’t see me some time I startle her and she does that.

Can you give me some examples of negative attention when during something bad?

Jen, nope, sounds like you’re doing fine, I just always quake when I hear

the word ‘discipline’ because to some people it still means shouting at tiny kittens (rather than saying no calmly and firmly) or tapping them on the nose or worse things… all of which, quite apart from being mean, are also counter-productive. But you’re obviously not doing any of those things so no worries 🙂

Tansey shared a particularly ripe one with us last night. Hubs waved an incense stick around her butt (lolol)
