Not so much here in the states, but in England, Easter Monday is a holiday.
Easter & Passover decorations still light up the cafe, and fresh hot and cold noms and drinks are on the buffet table. For those of who enjoy leftovers, lots of festive foods are here as well, some being re-purposed into quiches and casseroles.
Fresh flowers adorn tables, and don’t worry if you have allergies, they don’t exist in TDK land. The fire is being tended to if you are chilly, or you can enjoy a comfortable breeze from the water.
I have to laugh at the adorable sight of kittens batting and chasing after brightly colored plastic eggs. If the egg should open, a surprise awaits them, a toy mouse or fish!
    Welcome!

Hi, Joan. I love leftovers. Today’s cafe sounds great. Trying to get back in the swing of things here with my boys.

Slow day. Lots of excitement here, but not in a good way….having to get my dyson fixed. It is on yr 3 and has a five yr warranty so hopefully they’ll fix it for free. Also got a scary email about my bank account…but I checked on it and I think everything is okay. Got some good cleaning done even though the vacuum was falling apart. πŸ™‚

Hope your vac gets fixed for free. And good that the bank thing is okay.
On the mountain today, working in a garden. There are lots of plant beds within the rocks around here (we do grow a good rock around here!). The one I am tackling is raised on a big rock – pulled out a lot of yucca plants. They multiply like rabbits! Clearing it out so the daisies and black-eyed susens can come up. I think there’s some lavender in there too. The highlight, or so I hope, is the azalia planted in memory of my dad. It hasn’t bloomed in the few years it’s been there, but isn’t dead either. A few other locations over the years clearly we’re not good spots.

Hi all…. All the Easter leftovers sound so good. *Drooling… I didn’t get to have an Easter dinner. πŸ™ Since I had to work all day and my oven AND toaster oven are both broken, I am out of luck! LOL But my oven will be fixed very soon! WHOO HOO!!!
Joan, what color is your azalea? Maybe it needs “food” fertilizer? That’s so sweet you planted it for your dad. I like to plant a red geranium for my dad each year.
Awww.. sorry for everyone’s broken appliances…. I know how that is!
What gorgeous weather we have been having lately!

Glad your oven will be fixed soon, BB. We didn’t have a special Easter dinner, either. But we had a breakfast with family on Saturday that was nice.

Guess its broken appliance week at TDK, huh?

Sorry you didn’t get a real Easter dinner, BB. You can make ham & veggies & potatoes in the crockpot, and don’t underestimate the diversity of the microwave!
I forgot the color of the azalea – wondering if dad wants to surprise me!

Hi Littermates, it’s Tuesday here and Airy,KK and family have headed home. πŸ™
We finally have sunny weather after the tail end of the tropical cyclone and the long weekend is over – typical.
I’ve just finished my lunch of leftovers – pizza to be exact. we had a family pizza night with homemade pizza to celebrate my brothers daughter getting engaged the day before to a lovely Irishman. Such a happy surprise for us all.

Deb, I’ve been to the Carty Stonehenge (I was sent to write a story on it for a magazine), it’s amazing. It was built by a group of volunteers, including my dear friend Glenys. It is a working henge and was built for its own exact position in the southern hemisphere so that people could see how henges worked — so the sunsets and solstices and things all line up with the stones and it’s also orientated for Maori and Polynesian star lore and astronomy (so that Maui’s canoe sails along the top of the stones and Matariki (the Pleides in English) rises to signal that the kumara should be planted, etc. They have discovered that if you stand in the middle of it, you get the most amazing sound effects and amplification, etc. And of course at summer solstice and all those times, the local druids come and go mad in the middle of it, lol. I will take you there when you visit πŸ™‚

That’s a date then, lol. Lovely to hear MS’s news of more weddings in the family too. It sounds like you had a very nice Easter. The weather here has been abominable, apart from yesterday, which was lovely, and I did get some polyurethaning done, but mostly the cats and I have just cuddled up inside, wrapped up well…
