Hello there! New member here and I have a question that needs answered asap!

I have two (roughly) 3 week old kittens and one of them learned to poo on her own last night… In her crate…. all over her sister. I took a warm wet wash cloth to her, but I can’t get a lot of it to unstick from her fur. I know that dish soap kills fleas, but I’ve read that you really shouldn’t use it unless you have to. Also, does it have to be dawn or will Great Value original scent work the same?

I’m so proud she went on her own though, haha.

    Ty in advance.

Ive used Dawn and it helps a lot. my furbaby that passed away, i found her at 2 weeks old and she was covered w fleas and i had to teach her how to poop in the litter box and as you obviously know, its a messy job. she would get it on her self and she had a dried clump under her belly so what we did was that we got two buckets filled with warm water. one was w dawn dish soap and the water just regular water for rinsing. my husband would hold and put her in the soap water, of course with her head above and only up to the part where the poop was at, while i massage and try to get the poop off. we then transferred her to the other warm clean water for rinsing. we did this w our other two boy kitties when it came to the fleas and her as well. if you are planning to try this method, dont do it alone. my babies were to young at the time for flea treatments, thats why we went w dawn. i dont know how the other brand works but they have small bottles of dawn, and you dont need a lot.. 🙂

Crisis averted! My neighbor has a 1 year old son with eczema so she buys all-natural, unscented, sensitive skin shampoo for him and gave me a small bottle of it. I was mainly worried that the dish soap would irritate their skin, so the baby shampoo was the perfect solution. Apologies for my panic, as we all know, fecal matter contains a lot of bacteria, not to mention the fact that I could see where the clumps were pulling at their fur. Poor babies. But they’re all cleaned up now and sleeping.

Ty for the answer, Reem, I’m going to buy some Dawn just in case I spot any fleas on them (one of my other cats has a severe allergy to fleas, so I work really hard to keep them out of my house).
