Some people think Vicki Myron should not have included so many details of her life in the book. Do you agree or disagree? Why?

I think it was fine. She related to Dewey the way she did partially because fo what was going on in her life (although of course the love was constant) and also the fact that he knew so much what she needed owuldnt have made sense without the reader also knowing all about it.

I agree with Metsa–Dewey would not have seemed nearly as special or intuitive without that information.

No, actually I think that she had to do that to partially explain the extraordinary bond that she had with Dewey. Dewey came into her life when she wasn’t really in a very good place. Throughout his nineteen years with Vicki, they shared such a close and loving relationship. I enjoyed knowing how this little cat affected her, and impacted her life, so much.

She was “Dewey’s special person”…. I loved knowing about her, and it added so much depth to Dewey’s story because she knew him so well…. it gave it credibility……

I think she needed to tell her story. Because of her background her relationship with Dewey was extra special. There were parts of her story that I admit I read faster and wanted to get through it, so I could get back to the Dewey story. Although necessary, it wasn’t my favorite parts of the book.

I don’t think you could write about your relationship with anyone, two or four legged without including yourself in it. I enjoyed reading about her and admired her courage to deal with all that she did and we all know our kittys make it easier to get through the bad times
