Coffee, bailey’s, amaretto and real cream! Here are some scones with clotted cream and lemon curd for mid-morning snacking!

Great Dane, are you drinking tea bag tea? Then I agree–YUCK!!! I am sipping full-leaf Assam, brewed for exactly four minutes before straining. YUM.

mmmm….I love clotted cream and lemon curd on scones. Tastes like heaven if the scones are baked correctly. Here in Georgia they sometimes make them too cake-y and they are supposed to be more like a biscuit.

I’ll take some of those scones! Confession: there is a company in Michigan that makes lime curd, and I am quite addicted to it! I have a real weakness for lime.

Now that I look at the clock I realize that it is almost time for lunch! At least now I am good and hungry.

ppearson, me, me, me…for the scones with clotted cream and lemon curd. Haven’t had scones in a long time.

Almost lunch time here, too, N&N Mom. What’s for lunch?

Lunch on Wed. is usually just a salad. I sing in my church’s choir and we have practice on Wed. nights. The church makes dinner for everyone (there are a lot of other things going on too). Arroz con Pollo tonight – yum! So I am eating light the rest of the day. Love the virtual scones, though.

Arroz con pollo? That just brought back a shudder-worthy chlidhood memory – lol.

HM – I forgot about that previous discussion! LOL

Where I come from, it is a rarity. I don’t think my mother even knows how to make it. Our chef at church is from the Southwest so he loves to make it for us. He makes some really good pinto beans to go with it. Sorry for the bad memory flash!

I’d love the lemon curd and clotted cream… Mom made some from scratch ones and it was heavenly.

Working from home because of pain today. PT spent 20 minutes trying to massage the knots out of the muscles in my left arm, then said she was going to need 6 more sessions if there’s any chance of me getting out of this normal. I gritted my teeth and called the doctor and told him to give me more sessions. I’m desperate to be back to a pain-free existence.

    LOL @ Nibs & Nora’s Mom – that’s okay, I think I’m alright now.

    What is lemon curd?

Jennifer I hope you feel better. I am no longer going to the PT because it messed me up. I truly hope it goes better for YOU than it did for me.

At least you have your kitties to keep your company.

I think traditionally lemon meringue pie was made with lemon curd. It is a lot like lemon pie filling but the flavor is much more intense. It is used kind of like jam to top scones and muffins. It also tastes really good added to yogurt or mixed with fresh berries. I was at a little tea shop this summer where they used it to top their strawberry shortcake, with cream on top – that was heavenly!

You got it N&N mom. HM if there is a World Market store in Houston they sell it there in a jar. Dee it is really lemony, you would love it! My grandmother’s Lemon Meringue Pie was made with a lemon curd filling. VERY intense. I may have to look for her recipe and make some soon.
