he’s been in remission for 4 years from bladder cancer. they found the kidney cancer during a recent checkup. he is 75.

today’s test confirmed the cancer. apparently mom and dad have suspected this for a couple of weeks, but did not tell me until today.

surgery will be soon. and I am going to send him a paper card tomorrow…

please let us have some of those famous TDK vibes. thank you.

Sometimes that is a two way street. I talked to your Mom when you were in the hospital that first time. I know from what she said that she also loves you, whether you agree with how she handles things or not, just as she may not like how you handle things. May you all someday be able to talk in peace, whether you agree or not. Prayers for all of you.

Dad is doing great. he had the surgery the last Monday in August 2013. He looks really good, but he has to restrict his activities for the next year. You can’t tell that he has had the surgery. He’s fit and trim !!!

Family relationships can get extremely complicated, and unless one knows the precise details perhaps one should not comment. IMHO and just sayin’. Cheri, for my part I just hope that you make the decisions that work for you in what must be a highly stressful situation and that your dad makes a complete recovery. Take good care.

Cheri, it’s a tough call. on one end, u feel pain, and yet u feel bad and u want to love em. i’ve had a few love hate relationships in my family too, and have then had to deal with various severe illnesses among them, and u feel really torn. let us hope that maybe this horrible time will somehow find a positive outcome.
