At the end of a long day, there’s nothing quite like coming back to a warm house with family and pets. That’s not always an option for some people. So, on this day, remember to appreciate the fact that you have a place to hang your hat.

The kits are asleep and I’m following their lead. Cya and have a happy~

Good morning – my home is not a cozy log cabin like most of my neighbors, but it’s home, and it’s almost always nice to be home!
It is sunny and super windy here in Jersey today. There’s a cozy fire going in the wood burner and though no one is laying in front of it now, I’m sure they will be later!
Sending healing vibes to your mom, AV.

    Hey all 🙂

having a lazy Saturday …. fire down and Christmas tree up.. huummmmmm…. how the hell do I keep a CH kitten away from a big shiny sparkly Xmas tree..! MS so sorry your mam lost her prescious furry baby .. My mam and dad had to put there big gentle giant Tiny to sleep on Thursday.. he was nearly 10 years old and a massive size even for a Newfoundland! He will be missed so much. It’s hard when we have to let them go..

Good Caturday all! Putting up some Christmas decorations here too … have to wait on the kids arrival for the tree, but did my table, mantel, door and nick-nacs …. fun! ….
So sorry about Snuggles and Tiny … can’t believe it’s been a year since Queen Cuddles cross the bridge …. you’re right Buttons, hard to let them go, we miss them so!
Abby is the BEST girl around the Christmas tree, really seems to know she’s not allowed there, and she always wants to please 🙂 …. Caddy being outside, just sees it through the French door …. I’m thinking she’d try to climb it if she could get access … hehe

I took my Mom some fresh tuna salad (at her request) … no canned stuff, I poached real tuna filets ….. she loved it, and I made enough to have for myself a few lunches …. very nice, since it’s still almost 80 degrees here!

Hope everyone is enjoying their day, L8R all!

Good afternoon all. Early wake up(way too early for a Sunday) here as mower man was spraying a nasty weed before the wind arrived and I had to cover some of my plants in case there was an accidental spray drift. All went well and no drift. A relaxing breakfast followed and then Mr MS and I weeded daughter Meegz kumara(sweet potato)patch that she has at our place.
The day is hot and sunny with a light breeze now and Shadz is lurking under some shady shrub while Mr MS is asleep, he worked yesterday and is exhausted.
JJ, the fire sounds lovely even though it is a hot day here. What is it about fires that attract man and animals.
Hi Buttons, sounds like a lovely lazy Saturday. I don’t think our tree will get up this year, time constraints but I will put up all the tree lights. I have strings of solar lights that are perfect for outside. I am just imagining all the mischief that Mr Olta can get up to with a Christmas tree.
Sorry to hear that Tiny has gone to the Meadow, condolences to all the family. Yes it is hard to let them go.
AV, you have been busy with the Christmas decorations. Wow has it been a year since Cuddles went to the Meadow.Sweet girl.
Nice that you were able to make something for your Mum that she wanted. Getting the elderly to eat can be difficult at times. Yikes 80F there, we are at 70F just after midday.
Time I did a bit more of nothing in particular while Mr MS is asleep.

    Catching up on day.
PG, very touching pics to go with very touching apropos theme.
Buttons, my sympathies to your Mum and Dad on having to say goodbye to Tiny for now.
Slept all day as per. Yest on way to the roof over my head AKA my place had a bit of an unpleasant encounter. My downstairs n’bour is quite not nice. Or has prob. Was getting on elevator after racing home from fun Knitting Circle. Well this guy is getting out, stops, turns back and accosts me, telling me that I am making noise in middle of night and early am. I told him that in middle of night sleep is where I’m at and that I am careful not to make noise. He said that next time he hears noise he’s calling police. This was scary as was his demeanor.
Getting home I called my landlord and one of our admins. On advice sent detailed email to bldg mgmt co, my landlord and herself. She forwarded this to the other admins and told me to please let them know if I encounter any probs. Landlord told me man is clearly demented and that I can tell him that I will be calling police re harrassment. Thing is that I am very careful not to play loud music or use d/w/w/d or do DIY past “working hrs.” Anyway peeps are on my side. But this frightened me so hope it ends here. Still good as landlord maintains to have paper trail. I for sure don’t need this!
Well, while MS and AV are basking in warmth in Northern Hem it’s getting gradually colder – Winter is on it’s way!

Hmmm, not sure how you’re going to keep Mr. Olta away from the shiny pretty tree. Perhaps you can put orange or lemon or lime rinds at the base of the tree. Supposedly cats hate citrus.
I’m so sorry about Tiny. Condolences to your mam and dad.
Wow, our Queen Cuddles gone a year, time flies. This time of year brings fond memories of Shaddo under the Christmas tree.
Hope your mom is feeling better, AV.
Hi MS – sounds like a lovely day by you, hot but nice, with Shadz doing her thing.
Wow KJ, how frightening! Good that peeps are on your side, but scary nonetheless. Please keep your guard up, no one needs abuse like that.
A cold day at the market, especially when the clouds rolled in. There were more vendors and even more expected next week at the “shop & drop” event. One can do some holiday shopping and drop off gently used coats as well as donate to Toys for Tots.
Dewey is enjoying the roof over his head – sprawled out by the fire!

    I’m so sorry about Tiny.

KJ, it sounds as if your neighbour has serious mental problems and aggression issues. Beyond your making sure your landlord knows, it might be a good idea to call the police, just to ask them the best course of action. Here is the number for “non-urgent” calls to the police: 514-280-2222 Obviously you know to call 911 if there us an emergency or urgent threat.

It is probably not your neighbour’s “fault” if he is screwed up, but you do not have to bear the burden. Harassment of anyone is wrong.

    hi furryone,

I’ve seem to running around in circles and squares today and haven’t got anywhere! I’m glad Miss Snuggy in romping the meadow. Tiny (A Newfie) is with his pals in dog heaven. It’s so hard to lose our furries but we will never forget them.

Good Luck on the shiny tree Buttons. I got tired “redecorating” whenever the kits decided to play so I don’t have an indoor tree.

You’ve got the best advice dealing with the other tenant. It’s scary though and that’s why I have a Taser. Not so much where my home is but when I’m up and about at night.

Colorado is in a deep freeze. It hasn’t got above 40f/4c since Wednesday and by next Thursday our low is -3f/16c. Miss Gaea found a sunny spot in front of the bushes and stayed there for a couple of hours.

I’ll be on TDK cafe shortly.

KJ, that was an unsettling encounter with your downstairs neighbour. It is good that you have let the landlord and building management know of your concerns.
Yes it has been quite warm here today, 22C officially but my thermometer in the shade outside registered 29.5C . No wonder my plants were wilting and panting. 🙁
Sounds like a good day at the market JJ despite the cold. I love the idea of the ‘shop and drop’ event. Awwwwww Dewey you wee scamp, enjoy the fire.
PG, I have heard and often used the running in circles phrase but not the squares bit. Very descriptive of a day spent being busy but not achieving much. Brrrrrrrrrr for your weather PG. Well done Miss Gaea, you know where to find a warm spot.
Relaxing until bed time. Must confess I fell asleep this afternoon for a while.
