i will use wellness cat food for my KITTEN (say aye If you use the same brand) How much of each food, wet and dry, do I feed everyday? I am thinkin of using this feeding plan, ok I leave an amount of dry food out in the morning so the kitten can graze through the day, then in the evening i give it an amount of canned food. what do you think? can you help me decide how much I should give at each feeding (for a kiten). I am also going to use the same feeding plan for the adult cat, how much should I give at each feeding then?

Hi dragonlover. There will usually be advice on how much to feed on the side of the bag of dried food. When we first had Pickle & Button, (4 months old), we were recommended to give them mainly dry food, as it’s better for their teeth. We did as you’re planning to do, and left dry food down so they could graze during the day, and they come in at night to the promise of some wet food (tuna is the hot favourite!). Your tin sizes are probably different, but we just give them approx. 1 dessert spoonful each for their treat.

How old is your kitten dragonlover? This may determine what you feed and how often.

    Hi Dragonfly,

Normally my 4 kitts (9 mos.) eat nothing but dry food. I’ve occaisionally offered them tastes of baked chicken or turkey but they don’t much care for it. They love their dry food and sometimes I’ll surprise them with a treat of tuna. Last summer our neighbors were bringing home lots of salmon and we frequently had a head to cook up for them.. Loved that, but they seem to be quite happy with dry food most of the time.
