In January i took in someones “indoor/outdoor” cat that was begging to be let inside her home. the owners werent home or didnt want to open the door so I took her in for shelter due to frigid temps. Im having a hard time finding her a home because shes 15 years old and does not get along with ANYONE. She attacked my cat baby and made her nose bleed. Baby is now in hiding and refuses to leave her room whhereas the other cat is actively seeking baby and my other cats out. Im very confused what I should do. She doesnt like to be petted, she attacks if you do. and shes very territorial and HATES other cats. otherwise shes fine lol. I dont know what to do. shes 15 years old and has been an indorr/outdoor cat. ahes VERY HEALTHY and VERY active, shes in better shape than my indoor cats. shes a big healthy cat and has plenty of good years ahead of her. I dont know what to do with her. shes not getting along with my cats otherwise i would keep her even though she hates being touched. I live in nyc and i feel like shes not a cat that will like being in a shleter. should i just drop her off in her old neighborhood? im only concerned about her food because i feed her very good food. Im willing to even supply the food for life if i can just find a place for her. maybe even a barn.

    any help??? thanks.

Hi Annie – I would rule out dropping her off in the old neighborhood. A trip to the vet should be made too, to see if her problems are due to a medical condition.

i took her to vet and she is a healthy 15 year old cat. i feel very bad about this. no one wants to adopt her because she hates other animals and humans.

Can you find her a home without other cats or maybe a rescue? Dumping her in her old neighborhood or just dumping her anywhere is a cruel thought, she might be just defending her ‘territory’ as it seems she has had to fend for herself before coming into your home.

all the rescues require the cat be friendly to other humans if not cats. and shes friendly to neither. i dont know of anyone whos willing to take her on. i think shes a pretty low maintainance cat. if i had a bigger house where keeping them seperate wouldnt be an issue i’d keep her. as it is, i have 3 cats who are all afraid of her. the reason i suggested dropping her back to her old neighborhood is because shes been there all her life. she knows the streets. as far as feeding goes, my friend who lives on the same block has agreed to feed the cat. still, i feel terrible abt leaving her. ive even offered free food for lifetime and no one is agreeing. 🙁 i dont want to cconfine her to a small space like someones basement/bakery since she grew up free. she is old (although u wouldnt be able to tell) and deserves a soft bed and some peaceful years.

what a bad situation im in.

Help! hello all! I addopted a very tiny kitty who was abandoned. She is supposed to be around 5 weeks old. She is very weak but the first two days under my care she got really better. She was going pee and poop every day (although she had loose poop, kind of like a puree) and eating very well her AD wet kitten food. I started mixing her wet food with dry kitten food and she was doing very well, her poop started to get more normal and solid. Suddenly yesterday she stoped eating and barely going pee. She did a couple of poop pelets, very hard. I have been reading everything here and I think she might have a cold? PLEASE HELP, she is sleeping a lot a barely moving! tips please???

bideawee is a no kill shelter in manhattan. i would have referred you to the one i work at, but they just lost their lease and are trying to relocate.

i would love to drop her off to a no-kill shelter and sponser her for life, only if she liked being confined.
