Well I have had buttons for several months now. He was the scardy cat who would not comeout from under my dresser for over a month. Thought you would all like to know how our progress is. He is doing great! We have become good friends now he lets me pet him now and purrs up a storm. Will come on the bed and lay on me and let me pet him. He doesn’t like to be picked up but I do it anyway and he’s getting better. I give him snuggles and lots of kisses and he’s not fighting me as much. He must have had to fend for himself as far as food goes he tends to beg at the table and I’m bad I give him a taste sometimes. I will have to stop I know it’s not good for him. I also got him fixed at the SPCA as suggested by people here I saved a lot of money too and he is healing well and doing fine. Next I have to get his other shots he got rabies at time of neutering.

He is so playful too he loves to play with balls of all kinds and water bottle caps he knocks them around like a hockey pucks. He can throw things w/his paws too and he puts the toys in his mouth and moves it to where he wants to play. He’s SO much fun to watch! The only thing I seem to still have an issue with is he is still spraying a little in my bedroom. Any suggestions as to how to get him to stop that? I’m moving soon and don’t want him doing that where I’m going. I’m using natures miracle to get rid of the smell but to have him stop would be great! So that’s all for now thought you would like to know!

Spray some perfume on the spots he’s sprayed; that way, you’ll be putting your scent over his. That is, after you’ve used the Nature’s Miracle.

Great news raditto. He sounds wonderful. The spraying may stop in time when all his hormones are out of his system. sometimes putting his food over where he sprays will make him stop, too.

Good news that he has come around. You can try Feliway but it is pricey – it’s a calming pheromone (I believe). The other thing you can try which I have heard some have success with is Rescue Remedy (from Bach). It comes in a small bottle with a dropper and you can put a few drops in his water. It is supposed to have a calming effect. I have worked with ferals and a lot of my feral rescue friends have had success with this with some kitties.

You can find this at most whole foods or organic -type stores or it is certainly available on the web. If you do chose Feliway, it is less costly through the web(very expensive if you buy from the vet or from pet stores).

    Good luck

Raditto…glad to hear kitty is responding. I had one who was slow to trust but now she owns the place. You’re doing a great job..keep up the good work!!!
