Hi Glenice, welcome to TDK! Bless you for rescuing so many cats–you really are the cat lady!!
I think that probably by introducing the KMR to them, it’s just a change in their diet and sometimes that causes diarrhea. Especially since they were doing fine up until that point. Since they are on wet and dry food and also the goat’s milk, they probably don’t need the KMR except for the extra nutrition. The wet and dry food could also be causing the diarrhea. Once their systems get used to the change in food, hopefully they will settle down. They probably need a dewormer too, maybe you could call a vet and get some for the size and age of your kittens, since that could be causing the problem too.

Keep trying with the litter box, making sure that the litter doesn’t have a really strong scent since most cats don’t like a strong scented litter. Bless you also for caring for the special needs cat and keeping him indoors–I’ll never understand people who hurt innocent animals.

Thank they seem to get the litter box last night and day…just the boys…i went and bought a new box just for them cuz i was useing a shoe box at first cuz i didn’t want them sick off the other cats…but now i have a new issuse…the girl kitten would not eat at all yesterday …no wet or dried or milk
..and this morning she was down and out…i thought she was dead …i eye drop her 2 ml of pedlite and rub a little syrup on her gum and put her on a heating pad that u heat up in the micwave…and with in a hour she was able to move and i was able to get her to drink 10 ml of milk …about to try again..should i. Keep her away for her brother….i move them a few days ago to a big type play pen for pet but right now i have her in a carrier also when she poop it look like crull milk in diarrhea form…

You did a good job of saving the little kitten by getting her warm and getting her hydrated with pedialyte and syrup. That is what I would have recommended for you to do when they get lethargic. She may need to be fed more often, or may need more than milk. Especially if she is eating 10 ml at a feeding. Get some wet food, the pate’ kind–with no chunks or shreds and put some on your finger. Let them sniff it and see if they lick it. Good if they do, or you can make a gruel out of food and milk mixed and put it in the bottle and feed it that way. You will have to cut the end of the nipple off to let the gruel out or they will not be able to get the mix out. If they are 5 weeks, they are needing more than just milk and might be why she was lethargic.

I just started doing the weaning this week…The 3 boys are eating just fine …they eat wet and dried food and a bit of milk …but the little girl will not eat the wet food and only nibble on the dried…she usually drinks like 15 to 20 ml at every feeding …but she would not eat anything yesterday…at 10 this morning she took only 10ml by bottle and then at 2pm i have to use a eye droper and only able to get 5 ml in her …i about to try again …should i use goat milk or krm or keep it mix like i been doing..when i make new batch of milk i add pedlit instead of water …if i do use water is the baby water that in the baby section of the store in the jug…also how much pedlite should i give her from the eye droper….

Go ahead and use Goats milk and pedialyte for her. Also, put a dab of syrup on her lips, beforehand, so she’ll perk up to eat. I know this is tough for you but, if she won’t take the nipple then use the dropper. You have to get nourishment into her. Some people have had to tube feed so here’s a video on how to do it.

    Good Luck

Kits get liquid from their wet food so you needn’t worry about it. My gang has always had water but some TDKers say their kits won’t go near it.

Hopefully, the Goats milk will hep settle her tummy.

I believe the first thing tomorrow you should call a vet. I know you’re doing your best and hopefully, she’ll get to eating. Paws crossed that she eats well. After they examine her, you can ask them to show you how to tube feed her.

    Your kits are adorable.

Here are three links that may help you with vet. care. The first is the humane society and they can offer or give referrals for services.

The second is Alley Cat Allies. They work with stray/feral cats and caretakers to provide information and/or services.

The third is a list of veterinary schools in the country. Many schools will provide low cost or free services for training purposes.

You can call local vets. and find if they will provide services and can volunteer at their business. Some vets. need assistance and will make plan with you.

Poor little thing, she really was a fighter. The concern I have is that they may have a parasite called coccidia, and the vet would have to do a fecal sample to determine this and administer some drugs to kill the parasite. If you can find a shelter or animal welfare league to help you it could save you tons of money. You are doing wonderfully raising these kittens, bless you for your compassion and caring.

Yea one of the brother are starting to do the same thing…i trying to find a vet that will take him now and let me pay later but with no money right now or a car it hard…i can get a ride…they was doing so great…they were hit all their milestones…the other two brother are fine …they playing and eating great. I just got finish give them the wet food with some milk…i know it hard to raise babies that young …it just hard to lose them but u think i use to it…in the 4 year i been recuseing the cats where i live …we lose many kitten and cats… Due to car, snake, old age, and be to young without mom …but we have most of the ones that are alive fix and shots… And they get lot of food and loves…u would never think they were stray or wild one …we got most of them very friendly…still have a few that i can’t tough but i least they don’t run away any more…i just keep on saveing them… And try to give them the best life i can…

Please use one of the links. Someone will help you especially with all you’re doing for the kits. In fact, call Alley Cats. Their purpose is to care for feral/stray kits and the purrson who care for them. They will, sometimes, send someone out to you. You don’t have to do this along. Please, please call one

It’s entirely possible it could be Fading Kitten Syndrome…it’s heartbreaking when you lose them, but you never know what the mother may have been exposed to while she was pregnant. I think you are awesome for the care and compassion that you have given these kittens and cats over the years. It’s not easy, and it’s not cheap but your dedication is amazing!

I’m so sorry you lost another kitten, how heartbreaking. I hope someone calls you back soon, but it sounds like these kittens are on the road to health and strength, especially since they are eating well and using the litterbox. Hang in there, and keep us posted!

As long as they are eating wet food (and I would mix formula in with it for the extra nutrition) they really don’t need water. Always provide water where they know where it is, but cats get the water they need from their food if they are eating wet food or a raw diet. They aren’t big water drinkers like dogs are. I have noticed when I feed my cats their noon meal of dry food, they drink more water–but when they eat their wet meal, they don’t drink hardly any. Kittens are small, so it’s not unusual to feel their little bones, so just make sure they are eating well and often and they should be fine.
