Hi Everyone I am new here and this is my first post.

I was at a BBQ in Pittsburgh and this little one came over to our lawn. When I first saw her, her eyes were crusted shut and her right eye was very swollen. She was extremely sick with a runny nose and sneezing. We brought her over to the next door neighbors because I was told the neighbor had kittens. Push comes to shove we find out that the neighbor has 2 strays on his property that are not fixed and had this litter and he is obviously not taking care of the kittens. This was heart breaking and extremely irresponsible on his part to let this go on. Olive, came over to our lawn 4 times with blind eyes. This little one wanted to live! I promised little Olive I would take care of her and get her well. We have 2 other cats, Mylo (2 year old male) and Lola (1 year old female). Mylo is doing great with our new addition but Lola may need more time. I am optimistic that all 3 will be best of friends one day.

I took Olive to the vet and got her on antibiotics and eye ointment. Her right eye has a white/clear dot on it. The dot is not flat against the eye, it sticks out a bit. She cannot see out of her right eye either. I googled what it could be and now I’m scared to death! I was hoping for some feedback.

Agree, a vet visit should be in order!

Aww poor little one … It’s great she’s seen a vet.. And she’s on antibiotics for the bacterial infection… The white tissue on her eye would be classed as an ulcer.. It’s basically scar tissue on the surface of the eye and with the ointment it should improve but the opak milky colour will stay for some time.. My Mr Noodle has has the same issues and he’s 15 weeks now and as his eye is growing in size the scar tissue is reducing in size it’s almost as I it’s getting clearer as it stretches with the growth of the eye.. Keep up with the ointment and I would HiGHLY recommend adding 500mg of L-lysine twice daily to her food it boost the immune system and helps surpress the feline herpes virus which I strongly believe is Olives problem.. Keep her on the L-lysine for at least a couple of months I have all mine on it untill at least a year old .. Feline herpes flares ups ( swollen infected eyes, sneezing , runny eyes ) normally calm after a year old and only rear it head in times of stress and illness
