    Hello all,

I have a 14 week old kitten who eats exclusively wet food every 4-6 hours. In about two weeks I go back to work and I’m worried about how I’m going to feed her. My plan was to leave dry food for her during the day and feed her wet morning and night but unfortunately her sensitive little stomach cannot digest any dry food right now. I’m a high school teacher and I work 30 minutes from the school so coming home during lunch isn’t an option. Any tips, tricks or product recommendations?

Megan, although I haven’t personally used a wet cat food dispenser I have no way of even knowing that they exist! BUT, I Googled wet cat food dispenser and many options came up. I would suggest you do the same and read the reviews of what it is you are exactly looking for. They seem to even have refrigeration also. Hopefully you will find something that works really well for her sensitive tummy. There seem to be many options to choose from. Let us know what you decide and what you like about it if you get one. We are always looking for answers here, just another part of the learning process!

    Megan,

A friend uses a timed feeder because she works 10 hr. days. Her kitty has no problems with it and the timer is quiet.
You need to make sure it low enough for her to get to the food. I would recommend getting one while you’re still at home for a trial run. You don’t want to just put this new fangled thing in her life and leave.

Here’s the model my friend uses:

Pussigato, I had seen that one but it isn’t refrigerated is it? Would that not be a problem with wet food?

    Hi Megan,

My friend put the wet food in the fridge so when it’s in the bowl it’s cold and isn’t a problem for her. However, here is another model that addresses your concerns:

Yes I’ve seen that when when I’ve looked for options but the reviews on all of these are so mixed I was hoping there would be some people here who have found practical solutions when you work long days! The other thing I’m concerned about is she’s quite smart for a kitten and very food motivated which means a lot of these feeders are not recommended for her. Sadly she didn’t go with my plan of eating dry food during the day, such a cat! I found a great feeder that fits all my needs and more…but sadly costs nearly $200. Not on a teachers salary!
