So, the long timers (like me) know that I have been known to start the Night Shift and then disappear. And I can’t promise that won’t happen tonight. But, in honor of Emma and our precious Rotley, it is time for an all out Night Shift.

The room is dimly light but, in the corner, there is a disco ball reflecting soft light. The DJ is playing smooth jazz and, oddly enough, old Perry Como and Dean Martin recordings. The mood is soft… relaxing.. non-stressed.

There is a buffet set up in the other corner with Tex-Mex favorites… queso, nachos, tamales, taquitos, guacamole, salsa and chips and tacos. It’s a build your own taco bar. The fountain is flowing with citrus Margaritas. If you don’t like that, there is a beer bar stocked with Mexican beers.

Everywhere there are banks of flowers… the scent is almost swooning. Rotley loves lilacs and they are everywhere. In his honor Windi has placed pots and pots of Texas Bluebonnets.

The dance floor is polished and waiting.

    It’s time for a Night Shift…..

Willow and Windi are dressed in their best “senorita” dresses. Windi, because we never know what to expect, also has on a sequined sombrero. They are patiently waiting…..

Wow WWM, the Night Shift office is almost unrecognisable, it looks great. I’ll make myself a lunch taco and do a disappearing trick for a while.
Oh the lilacs are just glorious to the eye and the nose, how I wish I had a lilac growing in my garden.
Dips glass under the fountain and raises it in toast to Rotley, chasing butterflies in The Meadow.

I’m in WWM – as a relative newbie I’m sorry if I seemed to “steal your thunder”, last wknd seemed that my merely asking about what Night Shift was magically opened it. Hope we’re good.:-) And yes, perhaps a minute of silence to honor Emma and remember Rotley is in order. BTW today’s Main Page kitty is “Smokin” – he’d fit right in wearing a smoking jacket. And I could use a sip of the Green Fairy (which I have only tried *virtually* ’cause I like the label). A session with Swen the masseur. And later can we have some 80s prog rock or New Wave music – if I ask nicely??? Speaking of the former …

HI, MS!!! I will probably be disappearing myself, but will leave Willow and Windi in charge. Windi loves Rotley above all others and so has been inconsolable. But she is trying her best to be brave. She has requested a tango from the DJ, as she and Rotley had purrfected that dance.

Hi, KJ! Of course it goes without saying that Sven is always available during the NS. And Willow and Windi definitely approve of the beverage!

And Dorry is kitted out in his “Zorro” get-up complete with sword – he’s busy practising those “Z’s” on my walls. Stop that kitty … can’t explain that to landlord!!! In keeping with theme:

And she is utterly charming! 😉 Do I hear the click-clack of Flamenco shoes on that polished floor? Ooh a dashing tuxie has asked me for this dance!!!

Wait, did someone say “party”? I’ve got three felines who are all ready to join the fun. Especially Teddy Fluffy Pants – this will be his first TDK party. I’m allowing him to stay up a bit past his kitten bedtime to party with the other kits. He’s been rambunctious all day and a party may be all he needs to finally tire out.
Before I let my boys and myself party, though, we’ll stop to observe a minute of silence for special TDK kitty Rotley who left us too soon and will be greatly missed.

Glad to see you at the “Shift” GD. Been a while? Always the right time for a party. Don’t know about Teddy Fluffy Pants but Dorry could “always” use a party to tire him out. His “servant” too!

Tonight was Bountiful Basket–I have wonderful items, squash, fennel, red onion, cucumber, Romaine lettucew and pineapple, watermelon, bananas, persimmons, kiwi, pears, and blackberries! I have a case of tomatoes to can and 1 basketball sized pumpkin. This afternoon I made crockpot applesauce, roasted a pumpkin for pie–so pie and seeds! Mike made shrimp and crab legs for dinner–and a lovely squash!!

Fluffy Pants is 7 months and full of beans. Hard to tire out.
He is wearing his little devil kitty Halloween outfit tonight – he thought he looked particularly handsome in it the other day when I attempted to take his Halloween picture.

yay! a NS!…… been WAY too long over due! Thanks WWM!……..

*looks suspiciously* at GD for evidence of power tools or electrical wiring……. ‘whew’! looks like our little rescue mission was successful!

…… how very cute is Fluffy Pants! …… GD, please refresh my ‘etch-a-sketch’ brain on his story – who/whos is he? ….. he’s adorable!

‘joins in’ the toast to Rotley…..

Fluffypants is such a cute name. It’s a good thing it’s autumn; Bobby would be really ticked off if Fluffypants borrowed his Speedo and stretched it out with all that fur.

AV, Teddy (aka Fluffy Pants) belongs to a new client who had to go up north (PA, I think) for a few weeks. Since he’s still too young to be home alone with just pet-sitting visits, his human asked if he could come stay with me. He’s been here for three weeks – looks like he’s going home Monday or Tuesday. I’m going to miss that little bugger!

LOL@ CBM! …… Bobby is very possessive of his speedo, now isn’t he!?

…… and poor Mi, I don’t blame him for not wanting to wear that! …. he needs a more sofisticated costume!
