Hi there! Just checking in as a new member. I’ve always been a dog person but never had a pet until last year. We adopted a sweet (but not so little) labradane puppy last June, and a matching kitten (they have identical tuxedo coloring)found us a few months later. She’s a tiny little princess, and we love her a lot! I’m glad to have found a supportive and active forum for cat info.

Welcome to TDK Elle! As you can see from my avatar I am a dog lover too–but all of my friends here allowed me to stay anyway and have made my two tiny pals “honorary” kits! I have Daisy, who is my avatar, a 13 lb. chihuahua/boston terrier x and Cricket, a 4 1/2 lb. chihuahua/maltese x. I just acquired Cricket a few weeks ago and as soon as I figure out how, I am going to update my avatar! Anyway, feel free to introduce your fur family and btw we LOVE pics around here!

Hello, Elle. Always glad to welcome new members. I have two cats: Lady Coco (a brindled brown tortie)and Sophie Dorothea (a moo kittie — black and white patches, no tuxedo) who, for the past two years have only been on hissing terms with each other. We keep hoping that someday there’ll be a breakthrough and Lady C will stop hiding under the bed and hissing and Sophie D will stop regarding her as a tortie play toy.

Hi Elle, Once a kitten has it’s little claws into your heart, you can forget about not being a cat person. How cute that your two babies match, at least in colouring. Welcome to the fold.

Hi Elle! Welcome to TDK! I am an animal lover! I have 3 brindle boxers, Luke, Lexi, and Rumor…. I have 5 kitties!

Julia is a 3 year black cat and her human is my 13yr old daughtoner!

JW is a 2yr old grey and white tabby; he is just handsome and he claims all of us and is the kitty that gives sandpaper kisses!

Gallo the Gato is my 21 month old kitty! (he is the one you see)I got G when he was 2 days old; he is a hand raised kitten and he has the funniest personality and he is the most SPOILED cat that you will ever meet! He thinks that he is human.

Fang is a 9 month old baby that my son, daughter and nephew found. There was a stray kitten at the dr office and they caught her and brought her home… My son and nephew claim her… we thought that she was a boy but by the time we found out he was a she…. so she still goes by Fang!

Dr.David Hayward is 4 month old black tux kitten. My friend was fostering a litter and I fell in love!

Believe it or not they all get along!

I have a lot of cats and kittens, if you click on my avatar, it should send you to some of my cats catster pages. I still haven’t gotten everyone on there!

    A few of mine:

Morey and Mitch were born August 7, 2010. I got them when they were four weeks old; there mother is a feral who I had finally managed to trap. I took her kittens and raised them myself and had her spayed and then brought her back to her home. Morey and Mitch get into no end of trouble, but always do it together. Morey doesn’t have two full lungs (probably more like 1.5 lungs) but still manages to act like a kitten. They are my first fully raw fed kittens ๐Ÿ™‚

Malachi, another kitten who is not on catster, was born June 25 and we adopted him in September 2010. His feelings are very easily hurt and he is very mellow. Well, he is mellow until I have to do something with him, like clip his claws, then he turns into a hissing and growling monster ๐Ÿ˜‰

Rajah is my oldest cat at 15, he is turning 16 in the spring. He acts like a kitten mostly thanks to raw feeding. I rescued him spring of 2010; he was dumped at the shelter and was going to be put down because of his age and at that time, horrible condition. When I adopted him he wieghed 7-8 lbs and he now is at ~14 lbs of pure muscle.

Matilda and Mooshu are two more kittens. Matilda was tossed out of a car with her brother. Unfortunatly, her brother died from internal injuries, though she survived and is doing great. Mooshu is of no relation to her, he was adopted/rescued from the shelter. His eye is badly affected by feline herpes; I have two other cats with that problem (Jack and Jill) who are doing much better with raw feeding. I decided to take Mooshu and see what I could do to make his eye less swollen – and it is nearly back to normal now! He was going to be put down because the shelter doesn’t have enough money to have paid for the surgery on his eye.

You’ve done an amazing job with your cats and kittens, FF50!

Welcome to TDK, Elle. I always thought I was a dog person as well. Grew up with dogs and didn’t become a cat person until explosed to one while my daughter, her boyfriend and her cat moved in with us for a few months. I found myself missing the cat after they moved out and now I have three of my own. Click on my avatar to see photos of them on catster.com. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi, Elle, I am very fond of dogs, I think they’re lovely to visit but I wouldn’t want to live with one, lol, at least not in a small house. I have two kitties, Jasper and Libs, both rescues (that’s Libs in my avatar) and am presently fostering the M-Mob (mama cat and kits) for our local shelter. I have always loved my kitties ๐Ÿ™‚ Welcome to TDK, I hope you never hate cats again (you didn’t really HATE them, did you?) They never do as they are told but I guess you’re finding that out already!

Hi Elle, welcome to TDK. I’ve also had both cats and dogs but there is something about a cat that gets under your skin emotionally.

I’m owned by Moonshadow(HRH Shadz), she’s in my avatar and we live in New Zealand.

Hey Elle, after growing up with cats all my life, I was pretty much “cat”ted out. I was perfectly fine with getting a dog later on. However my boyfriend found a weak 3 week old kitten in the warehouse he worked in and now she has her paws wrapped around my heart and his. Mr. DM was definitely not a cat person until we got Duchess. So we are now cat lovers!

Welcome, Elle! Cat and dogs are each wonderful in their own ways, I think, but for me a cat is definitely more practical in a New York City apartment. That’s my silly upside-down George in my avatar.
