7 weeks ago I adopted a 6 month old Lynx Point Birman from a local shelter after his first owner surrendered him due to allergies. I adopted him within 5 minutes of his surrender so he was never caged in the shelter. However, he is a very aggressive kitten. He plays very rough and bites until I bleed and scratches me to shreds……mostly unprovoked. He dislikes being petted or handled 99% of the time. He bolts or bites if I attempt to pet him. If I’m on the toilet he comes to me for petting and thats the ONLY time…..very odd.

you don’t mention if he’s neutered Lisa?? if he’s not neutered I’d do that ASAP! if he is neutered you need to redirect his play aggression .. you’ll need to actively play with him with wand toys preferably that way your hands are out of danger 😆 some cats are played out after 20 mins and some take 40-60 mins it depends on the cat.. all kittens are boisterous but once neutered and as they get older this will
came as long as they have sufficient play sessions.. there are also cat toys that you can get that keep a cat occupied but cats get bored easily so switch it up to keep them interested 🙂

Yes he is neutered. I do play with him with wand toys and he has lots of toys, string and a cat tree. He is spoiled rotten. I have been praising him every time he lets me touch him without biting me and then giving him treats as a reward. If he bites I walk away and ignore him.
