The wonderful news is that Jellybean’s adoption this past Sunday went very well indeed! Anna and Peter are thrilled with her, and she’s slowly getting used to Nuisance (the resident orange cat). Nuisance is curious, but apparently doesn’t have a hostile bone in his entire body. I could not have hoped for a better home for Jellybean! Vet visit right away (for FVRCP booster & general checkup), very high quality cat food, indoors only, declawing out of the question, and one person who spends most of the time at home. Such a marvelous development! They also generously contributed toward my planned purchase of a meat grinder from Northern Tool, to start my cats toward a raw food diet.
Via email, I warned Anna about Jellybean’s habit of picking up paper balls and bringing them to bed, expecting to play, around 3 am. She immediately went and crumpled up a piece of paper, and found to her delight that Jellybean loves to play with it! (Not fetching just yet, but most likely will soon.)
I’d told her that I’d half-thought about bringing Sweet Pea with me, and explaining that I was probably going to keep her, since I hadn’t found a home for her yet… in the hopes they’d think about adopting her, too. I told them I didn’t do that, because I didn’t think it would be a nice thing to do… they expressed relief that I hadn’t brought her, because she most likely would have gone home with them (a two-for-one special!).
So Sweet Pea is still with me, and has taken to wanting to sleep on my chest, regardless of what I’m doing. I’m sitting with my lap elevated, typing on my laptop, all slumped down on the sofa, all to accommodate her purring fluffiness.
Oh, yeah… she’s getting me well trained. LOL6 February, 2008 at 12:57 pm #161465

Thank you all so much! (So often, it’s harder to find good homes for black kitties.)6 February, 2008 at 3:23 pm #161470
And soon Mili will be with OP!6 February, 2008 at 3:25 pm #161471
I’m so happy about that! I think Mili will be quite the little charmer, but we’ll have to wait and see what Chloe thinks about that.6 February, 2008 at 3:28 pm #161472
Gee anncetera wish you were closer to me… I’ve been thinking of adding a new furry member to the family… even if here in Madrid having two cats is equal to being a crazy cat woman (that I am)6 February, 2008 at 3:32 pm #161473
A wonderful adoption. So happy for Jellybean and you. Wish all these babies could find such good furever homes.6 February, 2008 at 3:33 pm #161474
Such good news Ann! Yea ! for Jellybean. Yep, I’d saw SweetPea has you well trained LOL
Last night didn’t go so well for Chloe in the bedroom all night. About 2:30 a.m. she started my facial… ouch. Then hopped off the bed to scratch at the carpet and bang at the closed door. A sharp CHLOE! from me and she bounded back on the bed for more sandpaper kisses to the face. After 30 minutes of this back and forth, I gave in and opened the door for her. How long was she out of the room?? I don’t know.. I fell back asleep. But she was at my feet again when the alarm went off at 6. I’m tired today ZZZZzzzzzz6 February, 2008 at 3:36 pm #161475
Yay, sounds as if Jellybean’s got it made!!!6 February, 2008 at 3:47 pm #161476
PM, I wish I could give you a lovely furry kitty! You’d probably be utterly charmed by Sweet Pea, and you’re probably one of the few people who could coax her from me. She is such a dear little fuzzbutt!
OP, I’m sorry to hear that Chloe doesn’t want to let you sleep through the night. I’m very curious to see their initial reactions to one another on Tuesday evening. Who knows, they may take to one another like Bob and Milo!6 February, 2008 at 3:49 pm #161477
FIngers, toes, arms, legs, eyes… all crossed for that anncetera! LOL
I’m all set for Mili to meet the v-e-t on Wednesday. First thing, get that out of the way…. hope you’re an early riser LOL6 February, 2008 at 3:51 pm #161478
Don’t send me a photo then anncetera! Someone sent me a mail saying that there was a house in Córdoba (more then 600km from my house) where the old lady had died leaving some kittens behind… there was a photo of Pipa… the rest is history…
