The wonderful news is that Jellybean’s adoption this past Sunday went very well indeed! Anna and Peter are thrilled with her, and she’s slowly getting used to Nuisance (the resident orange cat). Nuisance is curious, but apparently doesn’t have a hostile bone in his entire body. I could not have hoped for a better home for Jellybean! Vet visit right away (for FVRCP booster & general checkup), very high quality cat food, indoors only, declawing out of the question, and one person who spends most of the time at home. Such a marvelous development! They also generously contributed toward my planned purchase of a meat grinder from Northern Tool, to start my cats toward a raw food diet.
Via email, I warned Anna about Jellybean’s habit of picking up paper balls and bringing them to bed, expecting to play, around 3 am. She immediately went and crumpled up a piece of paper, and found to her delight that Jellybean loves to play with it! (Not fetching just yet, but most likely will soon.)
I’d told her that I’d half-thought about bringing Sweet Pea with me, and explaining that I was probably going to keep her, since I hadn’t found a home for her yet… in the hopes they’d think about adopting her, too. I told them I didn’t do that, because I didn’t think it would be a nice thing to do… they expressed relief that I hadn’t brought her, because she most likely would have gone home with them (a two-for-one special!).
So Sweet Pea is still with me, and has taken to wanting to sleep on my chest, regardless of what I’m doing. I’m sitting with my lap elevated, typing on my laptop, all slumped down on the sofa, all to accommodate her purring fluffiness.
Oh, yeah… she’s getting me well trained. LOL
