It’s been a long night for me. I live in an apartment with 12 cats. One 13year old. 2 one year olds. 3 7month olds. 6 3 week olds. My female cat is, of course, very protective of her tiny babies. The 6 babies are just learning how to walk. So I was sitting on the floor watching them walk around. My 13 year old came by and hissed at the kittens, which caused my female to attack him. I leaned forward, (they we’re an arms length away from me) and started pulling them apart to stop them from fighting. My 13 year old struggled as I tried to stop the fight and knocked me backwards. I fell back right onto a kitten!!! All I saw was the baby laying kind of still with blood dripping from his nose. I rushed him to the emergency vet and used a baby sucker thingy to keep the blood out of his mouth and nose. They took X-rays and put him on oxygen. Unfortunately I don’t have the money it would have taken to get more treatment. They told me I mainly injured his face and that I need to keep his airways clear before they sent me home with him. I check his gums too to make sure they don’t turn dark. But I don’t know what else to do. 🙁

I’m so sorry this happened to you, Haylee. I’m guessing the x-rays indicated nothing is broken? If it’s his face only that is injured, and the blood is coming from there, it should be drying up soon. Closely monitor his breathing to ensure nothing becomes blocked. If he is still eating from mama, maybe you can get them isolated so he can have private mealtime.
Sending soothing vibes to both you and the kitten.

They said nothing was broken I was just paniced because there was blood. I’ve been watching him closely and syringe feeding him cause he doesn’t seem to be latching on Mom.

I am. I’m so relieved that he’s all better. I don’t know what I would have done if I had lost him. All my cats are like my children.
