Please join me in giving a huge paws up to our latest Star Kit, Midnight. He is 2 month old Black Tabby from Terrell, Texas.
Midnight was thrown in a clothes dumpster. He was crying and a friend found him. He was so afraid and ran. Finally, he was caught and was willing to eat a little. With a lot of coaxing, he was caught and placed in my arms. I lost it in tears. See, I’d told the Lord I wasn’t going to seek out another cat. HE would have to send me one. Midnight has been such a blessing for I’d lost my beautiful Maine Coon to cancer a week ago to the day. Midnight has pulled me through my loss and has kept our household in laughter with his antics. He was immediately taken to the vet and was found in pretty good health. At this writing, he is now two months old and in the best of health by the guidance of a wonderful vet. Thank you for allowing me to tell his story. Now and then, I call him Cinderfella.
Tom is the owner of 4 amazing cats, and using the Daily Kitten he provides a place for cat and kitten lovers to share the love for their own cats and kittens.
POUNCE
I’m sure your Maine Coon would be happy to know you found a new kitty to love. Thanks for telling us about Cinderfella.
Midnight is one handsome noir kitty – sleek and elegant! Thank you for sharing his story – and for opening your home and heart to another kitty! 🙂
As for the miscreant who threw him “into a dumpster” – I’d best not say how I feel on this family-friendly forum. I’m just glad that Midnight was saved.
Wee Midnight was “thrown” just for you to give him a furever home. He is a real noir cutie!
I concur with KJ on the jerk who got rid of him! ;(
Really sorry for your loss. Midnight is very cute and my thanks for saving him and giving him a good home in spite of your sadness. I recently had my favorite cat euthanized (he was 15+). I have also said I’d have no more kittens (due to MY age). However, if my recently passed granddaughter should send me a kitten, I’d give him a home too like you did for Midnight. Hope you have many happy years together.
I can relate about not wanting more kittens – my wife and I have too many cats now, and had said “no more”. Then a neighbor (to make a long story short) was going to kill three little toddler kittens, accused us of creating their ‘problem’ (not true), and then threatened to shoot me for not showing the proper attitude towards his and his wife’s rant.
I took the kittens away from the …person… before he could kill them, and we’re raising them plus some others we found – due to a big problem of drop-off pregnant females. We just hope we can find homes for these little ones, although a couple of them have strongly bonded with us. (The mothers were picked up by animal control, but due to changes have a real good chance of having a life if not being adopted.)
BTW – all of our cats have been fixed and had their shots and all are rescues like the above. Until recently, there was no shelter that could be trusted to try to find homes for cats or kittens, creating a real ethical and moral conflict for us.
It’s better to save a life or lives, even if it adds complications to your own. Often you’ll be repaid with things like love, affection, and so on – and given another being a chance.
This little one was definitely sent to you. I’m glad that he is being loved and cared for.
Midnight is adorable!
Reading the story of both you and Midnight made my screen blurry!
Sending good vibes your way.
