Please put your paws in the air and welcome our newest Star Kit, Onyx. She is 5 week old from Georgia, USA.
Hey all! So I’m a new cat owner 😀
I work at a vet, and recently one of our clients came in and brought a gaggle of seven kittens with her! From what I gather, they came upon a stray in labor and took her in. When she gave birth, they took care of them, had one of our doctors check them out.
They said they couldn’t keep the kittens and the momma together, which is why they began separating them after weaning; the asked if there were any workers at my job that would like to take on a kitten — I volunteered! From what I understand, the kittens that aren’t taken are going to be given to a shelter. After working in a no-kill, I can verify that they do good work. But a shelter is not a home; the dogs and cats are stressed, and though we humans do our best, shelters just don’t have the same stability as a home. So I took her in.
Say hello to Onyx, ya’ll! <3
Tom is the owner of 4 amazing cats, and using the Daily Kitten he provides a place for cat and kitten lovers to share the love for their own cats and kittens.
Miss Onyx is a noir cutie! Thank you for giving her a loving, furever home. You have mastered the art of taking a picture of a noir kit…a white rug for the background.
I hope the sibs and mom have homes too.
Looks like the pick of the litter to me; what does it in photos or artwork of black cats is good lighting and getting the highlights…this one is great and she doesn’t even have her eyes open! Hope you have many happy years with her. 🙂
Pounce! and Thanks for taking her in! I hope the others are as lucky.
Awwwwwwwww Onyx is one lucky kit several times over.
Bless you for adopting her.
What a great kitten, great name, and great you!!
Aw, hi Onyx! Aren’t you a sweet little doll! You know what? Your a have a wonderful human that loves you to bits, so you make sure to let them know how much you love them back, ok sweetheart?!
Beautiful Black Beauty!
I love Black Cats!
Livia, ma beauté noire, sends purrs, little love licks and headrubs from up here in Montréal to Onyx!
Thank you so much for taking her in and I think you are very much enjoying being together!
Yes, a shelter, however well-run is not a home, any more than an orphanage or a refugee camp can be. But I’m glad that people see the importance of these little lives.
