Please welcome our latest Star Kit, Nerys. She is a 2 year old Maine Coon mix from Oklahoma City.
Nerys was found in a Walmart parking lot when she was about 10 days old. She got dropped off at my friends vet clinic and she let me raise her. I had helped with litters in the past but this was my first time to be in charge of a kitten. I was working as a field scientist for an environmental lab at the time so Nerys went with me on the job and got lots of socialization. One of my clients said he would adopt her, so when she was ready, I sent her home with him.
Well, his wife wasn’t so happy about that, so she came back to me the next week and we were both overjoyed to see each other. Since she was an only child and my first bottle baby, we had developed a very strong bond. I decided that once was enough and she was never going away again, and she joined our family permanently. She is one of the sweetest and friendliest cats I have ever met.
Tom is the owner of 4 amazing cats, and using the Daily Kitten he provides a place for cat and kitten lovers to share the love for their own cats and kittens.

OMG – so cute is Nerys. What an usual name. I am sure it fits her perfectly !
You are very lucky to have such a ward. WE love our kitty children. May Nerys grow old with you. Winston & Rudi’s mom
What a beautiful kitty. I had a Maine Coon cat and I agree that they are the sweetest and friendliest. My Gus started out as a Texas stray and lived in Oregon before he finally came to NY. I used to take care of him for a friend and when I lost my 16 year old orangie my friend asked if I wanted to adopt Gus. Of course I said yes and Gus lived with me for many years before passing over the rainbow bridge 5 years ago at the ripe old age of 22. I still think of him every day. I hope you and Nerys have a long and happy life together.
Thanks for sharing your story of Gus.
I was in owned by a Maine Coon too. Jiggs was my soul kitty for 16 years. He went to the Rainbow Bridge in 2008 and I miss him every day. Many great memories!
Hehe, wish I could correct my grammar in this post!
She’s very sweet!
Maine Coons are my soft spot! It’s quite clear you were meant to be together. MC’s have a tendency to pick one person to be their one and only, and you belong to beautiful Nerys.
Wishing you lots of happiness!
Out of curiosity I looked up meaning of your beautiful kitty’s name. It’s Welsh and according to most sources Nerys means “lady.” As in the regal sense, certainly suits her! Concats on a win-win situation! 🙂
Miss Nerys is a gorgeous girl and quite the lady. (thx KJ) You’re her true meowmy and I’m glad she back in her furever home. Enjoy many more playing loving times together.
I love how she’s standing on someone’s head peering down upon her catdom. 🙂
Nerys is a beautiful girl. I’m glad that she was rss used and is being loved.
Rescued.
Nerys is a beautiful girl, I love the expression in her face. What a life story and I am so glad she came back to you.
Those ears look like she could pick up from anywhere – she’s lovely; I’m glad she boomeranged.
and that last pic is SOOOO fine! Just a riot of motion and color. love it.
I am smitten with your kitten:) Nerys is a gorgeous girl and looks like a love bug deluxe. Looking at her features she could easily be a purebred. What is important is that she is back with her meowmy in her loving forever home:)
Gotta a luv a fluffer butt kit like Nerys!
My Maine Coon Lucky sends concats too as Starkit of the Day!
Aww, thanks guys! Nerys is definitely very special to me.
And about her name, I name all my pets after characters from Star Trek. Nerys is spunky and fearless, just like her namesake.
