Please give a huge TDK welcome to our newest Star Kit, Tumbles. He is an 8 month old DSH from Jacksonville, North Carolina.
I was a vet tech at a cat specialty hospital when a woman ran in with a tiny towel covered in blood; in the towel was a tiny black and white kitten that had been thrown out of a car window; the woman could not keep him but wanted to leave him with us and she would come back for him later and find him a home. He was lame in his front right leg; had a laceration extending his eyelid; multiple scrapes and cuts but was purring. I decided I needed this kitten even though we had 3 cats.
He was about 10 weeks old and weighed a pound. He was fed through a syringe for a few days; had x-rays of his legs; flea treatments; antibiotics for his wounds and sutures for his eye. The leg was not broken but there was extensive nerve damage; we tried laser treatment but at 4 months he had the leg amputated. He’s had 4 surgeries including another amputation to remove the rest of the bone and several damaged teeth. He’s the happiest cat on earth now and loves anything to do with snuggles. He still hates cars.
