Please give a warm TDK welcome to our Star Kit for today, Miss Kitty. She is a 6 year old DSH from Columbus, Ohio.
Miss Kitty was dropped off at my brother’s farm house, because “every farmer can use another cat or dog!” in the summer of 2011. When cool days started coming she discovered the doggie door and made herself at home on the sofa. One problem – my sister is allergic to cats and begged us to take MK. We did. We took her to the vet for a check up and shots and the last thing before all the shots the vet checked her tummy and said 1…2…3…4 little kitties that she was carrying and they were within a couple weeks of being born. They were born in the Christmas tree box and were about 2 weeks old when they emerged to our great joy.
We brought them upstairs and sequestered them in a little open room off the kitchen with beds and litter. It didn’t take more than a couple days for the “leader of the pack” whom we named Streaker because of the caramel strip down her forehead was climbing out… she said enough of that I want to see the world! They discovered lots of new things to get into and Streaker’s favorite was playing “ice hockey” on the kitchen floor… she loved to watch that ice cube fly! All the kitties have gone to happy, loving homes and Miss Kitty is still one of our resident cats.
Tom is the owner of 4 amazing cats, and using the Daily Kitten he provides a place for cat and kitten lovers to share the love for their own cats and kittens.
Pounce on Miss Kitty !
looks like she had several gentleman callers.
Aww! What a beautiful little family! I’m so glad they all have loving homes.
Miss Kitty is such a proud callie Mama! Great that you found homes for all her kits – ’cause I would have put my dibs in for Miss Streaker – sounds like she’s full of tortietude! đ đ
Yo! Check out the mustache on the B&W kitten!
Super adorable.
Such a wonderful ending for Miss Kitty and her kits! Thanks you’re pawsome!
That mustache is too funny.
Black and white is a Groucho kitten. Much nicer than the cruelty of calling some cats Kitlers. The mum is utterly lovely.
Miss Kitty is so beautiful! Those grey and tan markings on her flawless white fur are the envy of many a cat!
Thank you for giving her a home and finding loving homes for her babies. You rock!
I think thats the same Miiss Kitty who came thru our home as a foster waiting for placement several years ago. She was not fixed at the time due to illness but she WAS sent out as a barn cat! If it IS the same MK, she was a great girl, very loving and easygoing! Congrats on having her join your family!
It could well have been MK. Unfortunately she was a house cat and house cats don’t become barn cats -you probably know this already so forgive my repeating it. She was dropped off with a smaller cat that we think was her kitten from a previous litter. She lived in my brother’s and sister-in-law’s garage as there is no barn where they live. My sister took good care of her until MK found the doggie door and the rest is history. She did became very afraid of people and wouldn’t let us pet her. She has gotten better since we brought in another dropped off kitten and she has seen how the kitten is treated. Still won’t sit on my lap or anything like that although she does sleep on my feet and likes to be petted – on her terms. We still love her.
