Please give a huge welcome to today’s Star Kit, Lucky Rocker. He is 4 weeks old from Maricopa, Arizona.
He was taken by a predator at about 2 weeks old and dropped in the middle of the street after a car startled the predator (thinking coyote). He had a chewed up tail and leg (vet thought amputation could be necessary). My sister picked him up and called me to rescue him. Why me? Because I had zero kitten experience and allergies to cats and dogs (sarcasm). I had to take him in and help. I have been caring for him for about two weeks now and he is the most adorable little demon ever! He’s giving me hell with his horrible baby claws and little teeth coming in, but I love this little baby to pieces.
When he’s not clawing me, he’s a little crackling and purring machine that follows me around like a rhumba (a very slow and small one). He’s got a basket with a heating pad and blankets but he prefers me as his bed. He’s eating KMR powder formula and I also have goats milk and I’m considering switching him to it. I am concerned it will give him a tummy ache, is it a good idea to switch or should I just keep him on the same? Still having to stimulate for pee and poop, when do you start training them on paper shreds? Thank you for any and all advice. Love my little fluffy lucky!

Tiniest pounce ever!
Oooh, Lucky Rockee is totally adorable! Isn’t it amazing how something so soft can have those tiny razors attached?

Oops, Rocker, not Rockee!
that’s an unusual calico boy, and I’m assuming the vet at least knows what he’s looking at.
And a very lucky boy. he will probably use a litter box, very small one….only one way to find out! But you will have to park him there at intervals. Thanks for sharing your wonderful story.
Cuteness Overload Alert! *Thud* I just fell in love with wee Lucky Rocker. Thanks to you and sis for rescuing him.
As JJ said, do log onto the chat forum for more help. It’s better to switch him to Goats’ milk.
Tiny mite you are sure one handsome fella!!!! Moms this calico will love you so much as my girl had been to us. All the best for many years of love together.
Oh, can I have him? Scooter, Daisy and Shadow sends their love and wants to know when he’s moving in!!!!!!!! Lol
So adorable. I have bottle raised two kitties and have used KMR and goat’s milk. The kitties loved the goats milk. I think at about 4 weeks old kittens can be box trained. They need little encouragement. Watch him after he eats and if he goes to dig scoop him up and put him in litter box. He will do the rest. Might put if you have it some pee or his poop in there so he recognizes the scent. Good luck with you sweet baby.
Rocker is an adorable baby! You can see the calico-tude already. Calicos are spirited (which surely helps with their survival in more ways than one) yet are also some of the biggest lovers. I believe that as time goes on you will discover that Rocker is a little girl. Calico males are very, very rare. Thank you for sharing Rocker’s story and being his forever human mama. As Rocker grows up I surely hope you will give us an update:)
I’m not sure what KMR is, but I think that goat’s milk is not right for this adorable little guy… he should be eating/drinking cat’s milk (which you can find in most pet supply shops) to give him immunities to things that trouble cats. Ordinarily he would have gotten those from his mother’s milk.
Good luck with him!
Adorable! Might be a girl due to the Calico colors,
In any case , KMR is great for tiny kittens.
I presume that Lucky Rocker’s leg and tail are ok now? Yes, I’d suspect that this kitten is a female, but it doesn’t matter much; the operation for the female is a bit more expensive, but where I go, they give a good rate for girl kittens to encourage early sterilisations of both sexes. Darling wee mite, and thank you so much for stepping in. You’ll be warmly repaid. Cats can be trouble, but they make life so much more bearable…
Lucky Rocker you are very beautiful and indeed very Lucky!!!! Congrats on being chosen The Daily Kitten!!!
