Please give a huge TDK welcome to our Star Kit for today, Bella. She is a Korat of unknown age from Franklin, Ohio.
So she is not exactly a kitten, but her age is unknown. I grew up in Franklin and living in the same building, our neighbors had to cats. The cats names were Bella and Princess. The owners hated looking after them so most of the time, they were outside. I did not like that when I went into their house to visit, there was not cat food in sight!! Now I know what you are thinking; they might have it put up or they were going to get more. But I went the next day, after they went to the store, still no cat food so I was like “Okay’ maybe it is put up”.
But one day I heard they were moving, and they never loaded their cat into their car. So they asked us if we could take her. We did but without knowing she was pregnant. So we gave her food, and she ate a whole lot. About a month later she got big and a week after that she had kittens which are adorable. But when we got Bella she did not look good, so without us taking her in, she and her kittens could have died. The first pics are Bella and the last one is the baby that we are keeping called Ghosty.
Tom is the owner of 4 amazing cats, and using the Daily Kitten he provides a place for cat and kitten lovers to share the love for their own cats and kittens.
Pounce!
First POUNCE ever.
Thanks for taking beautiful Bella in. I feed and care for several street cats and my Fraidycat and his sister and brothers were a present from one of them. That was over 6 years ago and although mom disappeared I still have the four kittens.
Well, almost my first pounce. Gotta keep trying.
I don’t believe that I’ve ever seen a Korat as star kit before! Bella’s name suits her to a tee as she is a beauty and Ghosty suits her fur-baby’s shades of grey. Thank you for saving these kitties and I hope that the other kitties have terrific furever homes as well. As for your neighbours, you are kind-hearted to have at first given them the benefit of the doubt. As for me I hold people who neglect their furries in the lowest regard and if I say any more I will venture into the realm of seriously foul language.
fraidycatsdad – I willingly yield my pounce to you! 🙂
Thank you for taking Bella and her babies in. She’s a beauty.
Thank you for saving Bella and therefore her kittens. I have not heard of Korat as a breed before. Ghosty is a wee cutie.
Thank you for making a home for Bella and Ghostly. Bella name suits her as she is really pretty. Hope we see little Ghostly again as he gets a bit bigger!!!
Bless you many times over for taking Bella and her impending brood of fur babies. There are numerous members of Daily Kitten that are cat/kitten rescuers and you have joined the honored ranks. I too would love to see an update on Ghosty when he gets bigger. He surely took after his mom in coloration. Purrs and gentle kisses to all the rescued kitties:)
Congratulations to your new family; Bella really lucked out knowing you, and Ghosty will never
know what it is not to be wanted,….or fed…..or protected from bad ‘dates’. 🙂 Many happy years together.
Bless you for saving Bella and Ghosty and getting the other kittens homes. Do you know what happened to Princess?
I’ve heard of the Korat, and Bella is absolutely stunning! Ghosty is a wee cutie too!
Thank you for taking her in when she really needed you.
I hope Bella and Ghosty are doing well now. Korats are beautiful blue-grey cats, another Thai breed. If you visit the Pattaya Cats site (a cat rescue there) you’ll see a lot of cats of Siamese body type, but only some have the Siamese points (or the Korat colouring). Korats are a bit “cobbier” than Siamese, more like Burmese.
I’m so glad you took them in, and assume that you found good homes for Bella’s other kittens.
Thank you so much for rescuing Bella. If people don’t want to commit fully to an animal for life, they should never be allowed to adopt or purchase an animal. I would so love to have another kitten but as my health deteriorates, I don’t want to chance not being around to take care of him/her. I do not want to leave any pet(s) behind when I cross the Rainbow Bridge. My older “gents” are 14 and the younger pair are 7.
