I’d like you all to put your paws in the air and give a huge TDK welcome to today’s Star Kit, Simba. He is 3 and a half months old from Parker, Colorado.
I teach at a school in southeastern Colorado and this April a feral momma had five adorable kittens behind our school under the storage shed for my marching band! We were worried about getting them socialized before they were feral and we had a bad snowstorm coming (because it’s Colorado) so we caught three orange kitties from around the shed and a student fostered them. We knew there were still two black ones but momma moved them after the first ones were caught. So the next afternoon we pulled Simba and her brother Curious George from out of the school generator!
Simba snuggled up in my arms and fell asleep instantly so I knew she was mine! After they were fostered until 10 weeks old I finally took the crazy girl home and she has been running the house since! All five kitties did find happy homes with teachers and students in the area. Yes Simba is a girl, it all comes from my significant other who has a female black cat named Mufasa thanks to his fathers sense of humor 🙂
Tom is the owner of 4 amazing cats, and using the Daily Kitten he provides a place for cat and kitten lovers to share the love for their own cats and kittens.
Pounce!
Simba is beautiful! She has such a curious look, and she looks so cuddly!
Hope mama was found and spayed.
Wishing you and all of Simba’s siblings families many happy times together!
Momma was never caught, but we are still trying!
Miss Simba is such an adorable kitty! When kits fall asleep in your arms it’s a sure sign that you’re a keeper! Great that kitty family found loving homes too!
Beautiful and very lucky to have been rescued. I am sure that Simba will give you much enjoyment.
Do I recognise this story from the Daily Kitten pages?
Yes I posted it there first!
Pretty little mini panther! I love black cats!
Thanks for persevering and getting all the kittens in foster homes. I’m happy to know that everyone found a good home. Simba has such a sweet face with her fat cheeks and tiny chin. May you have many happy years together.
I love all cats, but black ones most of all. I’m so glad you and your colleagues and students could save all these babies. Any way to get mamma fixed?
Simba simply means “Lion” in Swahili, but I don’t know whether it refers only to the male or also to the lioness.
We are trying to get momma fixed but she hasn’t returned since we took the babies. Unfortunately feral cats are a huge issues where we are.
Squee for wee Noir as Sunday’s Star-kit Simba!
