Please join me in greeting our Star Kit for today, Jax. He is 3 weeks old from Moorhead, Minnesota.
My fiance’s farm no doubt usually has a couple cats running around the place. The farm actually went without any known litters of kittens for a couple years. So to much of his surprise, when he was in the tractor getting ready to move a stack of hay bails, he noticed something fell off the top of the stack onto the ground. He got out of the tractor to check it out, and turned out to be a tiny little kitten with his eyes still closed. He looked around to see if there were anymore around, and unfortunately he found two more that were already passed. Not to far away, we found the mother who looked as if she was attacked by something (I didn’t see it with my own eyes, but that’s what my fiancé said). So I volunteered to take the little kitten in and raise him myself. There was no way I could let the little guy suffer the same fate as his family.
I estimated him to be 3 days old, being that his umbilical cord was gone, but his eyes were still shut, he started opening them up 7 days after we brought him home. They were finally fully open when I got home from work the second day. I honestly was very nervous about hand rearing a little kitten, being that I knew nothing about raising one from such a young age. Google became my best friend, which started me out on little information that I needed to know. I eventually and finally came across this site, and it has been my go to ever since! He is now around 3 weeks old, and such a happy little guy. He is my little snuggle bug, and I absolutely love him! Our plan was to raise him until he was ready to go to a new home, but honestly I don’t think I can do that anymore. He is my furbaby, and he came into my life at one of the best times (My rabbit recently passed away, and was completely heartbroken) .. so I almost feel like it was meant to be. He needed my love and care, and vice versa. Although if my rabbit was still here with me, they could have became the best of friends :). I cannot wait to watch him grow into an adult cat, but at the same time I wish he would stay little furever!
Tom is the owner of 4 amazing cats, and using the Daily Kitten he provides a place for cat and kitten lovers to share the love for their own cats and kittens.

Wow, Jax is incredibly adorable! I am very sorry for your loss of your rabbit, and can’t help but wonder if your rabbit picked Jax out for you.
So happy that you found TDK and submitted Jax’s pictures. Also glad TDK has been able to assist you in helping this little guy.
Aawwwwwwww!!! Too cute. Great save. Head butts and scratches from my furballs to yours. Have a wonderful, safe 4th of July.
Your little bunny that went to the bridge, sent Jax for you to love. He knew you would love this kitty and help him Good Job!
Such a little doll. Bless you for taking the chance to raise him. He will reward you many times over.
Ooh I really feel for the little guy… And I’m so glad he found you. I hope you two will make each other happy for many years to come. ????
So precious! I’m glad that he is safe. Grow strong , little one and get into a lot of mischief!
So, the mother was dead too?
Oh my goodness! Jax is so very precious. I think the Universe is very good at filling a vacuum (like the hole left in your heart with the passing of your rabbit). As a first-time kitten owner (i.e. Slave), you will find many years of amusement and companionship with Jax, and though you’d like him to stay small, wait – the best is yet to come. You’ll find that the two of you will be in-sink with each other and you’ll know all of Jax’s little tell signs of when he wants food, cuddles, to play, go outside and countless other things. Jax will know when you’re not feeling well and comfort you. It’s why so many of us are Cat Slaves!
