A bit of a special one today. I would like to introduce you to Moog, Leo, Freddie and Smokey. These kits are between 9 months and 4 years and live with me and Mrs KM in TDK towers.
First we have Moog (pictured above). He is 4 years old and is one of my wife’s 2 cats (the other being Leo). He is very laid back and loves nothing more than finding a window facing the sun and stretching out on the window sill lazing in the sunbeams. He is very docile and while he does enjoy to play, he would much rather curl up on your lap.
Next we have Leo (apologies on the picture, he was out playing when I was taking their new head shots). He is Moog’s biological brother. My wife got them as a pair when they were only 2 months old as she didn’t want to separate them. They are the best of friends. Where Moog is laid back, Leo is outgoing and is always trying to get in places where he shouldn’t. Leo is very adventurous and once went missing for 4 months.
This ginger beauty is Freddie and he is just over a year old. Many of the TDK regulars will have met him before as he helps me combat the forum spammers. Freddie was a rescue and came to live with us when Leo went on his 4 month “holiday”. After the first month of Leo going missing we presumed the worst, so decided that it would be good for Moog, who had always had a play mate, to get another cat. I don’t know how old Freddie was when he came to us exactly, (I’d estimate between 3 to 5 months) as he was a rescue found abandoned in a basement. After a shakey start of him not being used to people and another cat, he has flowered into a loveable rascal. He definitely has a special place in my heart.
Now, I’m sure some of you will think, “KM only has 3 cats, that’s what it says in his bio”. Well I would like to introduce you to the stray who came to dinner…
This is Smokey. Going from his size (he is smaller than Freddie) I would estimate his age at about 7-9 months. About 2 weeks ago I had just been down to the shops and as I was walking up the drive, this little bundle of fun cam bounding out from underneath my car and started purring and rubbing up and down my legs. I gave him a stroke and he purred and then I took the shopping in, thinking that he belongs to someone and he is just a cat having a wander. Anyway, 2 hours later when I went back outside to put the bins out, this little cat was still sat on the drive and when he saw me, he came bounding over for another stroke. He was very friendly and persistent in wanting to be picked up. It was only when I picked him up that I could feel how dirty his fur was and how thin he was, so I bought him inside to get him some food. That night he had a good meal and I helped give him a clean. The following morning I made up some posters and went knocking around door to door in the neighbourhood to see if anyone had lost him. I’ve placed posters around and reported him found to all of the local shelters and vets, but still he remains unclaimed and continues to call TDK towers his home. He is already best buds and play mates with Freddie and I know we would all be sad if he was to go.
Tom is the owner of 4 amazing cats, and using the Daily Kitten he provides a place for cat and kitten lovers to share the love for their own cats and kittens.
It’s a furry family affair…lalala the KM Star-kit quartet of the day in TDK Land!
Thank you for sharing your furry family, KM. Moog looks a lot like my late Smokie, and his laid back attitude makes him one cool cat. Leo sounds like a lot of fun – love that big white bib! Freddie our spam-fighter is such a handsome dude; glad he has settled into your household. Your newest addition Smokey looks like quite the charmer. With his awesome markings and bright white fur, you would never guess he was anything less than spotless. What a wonderful furry family you have – wishing you much happiness!
How cute! Thanks for sharing them with us. Smokey knew you’d take good care of him and he shows his appreciation daily. I’m sure Freddie can say the same thing. I love rescue stories where the kits come to their new family and ones where they come to learn that people can be good.
But I do hope Leo’s wandering days are done.
Awww KM! ….. they are previous! ….. LOL @ the kit who came to dinner ….. (and never left) ……luck him!
Freddie reminds me of my orangie Milo, who passed away and was the reason I joined TDK over six years go! …. and Smokey looks like a cross be my Son’s kits – Venus (the gray/white one – like Smokey’s sweet face) and Luna (his gray tabby – like Smokey’s body!)
Thank you for the kind comments. I think I have an apprentice spam fighter in Smokey, he certainly is interested in my computer, but it could just be that he can see his picture on the screen.

Hey KM, your fab four are on the top of the Pinterest site!

Gorgeous kitties! 🙂
KM, I’ve been waiting most of my life for this LOL!!! Gorgeous kitties, all! And so neat that you and the Mrs. KM have 2 kits apiece. That seems nicely equal to me. And so many different colours, coat lengths and I gather purrsonalities. Plus good on you for rescuing Smokey from a life on the streets, from his pic he seems to have adjusted quite well to living the high life in “TDK” towers.
I’m glad that Leo came back and I hope he didn’t suffer any consequences. We had a little girl vanish like that, named Tommy Muffin (RIP) and when she came back, she was traumatized – it took years before she would let us hold her and months before she would even come in the house.
Your foursome are beautiful, and many long years of snuggles and purrs (and laughs) wished for you and yours!
Leo wasn’t traumatized at all on his return. He was just very dirty 🙂 Just one morning I went down stairs, opened the door and there he was, just sitting there waiting to come in (we don’t have a cat flap or else all the kitties in the neighbourhood will be coming around). He just strolled in like he had just popped out for an hour or 2.
Just drives you nuts, huh?
If I was a kitty in distress, I’d be heading right to you, KM. I love your fur family and each of their stories. My Smudge has a white bib even smaller than Moog’s. It’s what makes them so very adorable! (Are they still considered “Moo Kitties”?)
awwwww what an adorable troupe of cottons KM….they r very lucky. if only they knew u run this site. 😛
Thanks so much for sharing your fur family. Are you partial to guy kitties? They are all precious but I’m partial to OTs. Please give Mr. Freddie a kiss from me. You and your wife are awesome purr parents and I hope you have many more purry, playful times ahead.
I agree with Arcalian that they are surely “the fab four”. Moog looks much like a Maine Coon and is a stunning boy. Leo is a pretty boy who like to go “on walkabout” and worrying his mum and dad. Freddy is a handsome ginger cat. Heaven knows I have a predilection for orange boys:) I surely hope you get to keep Smokie. Personally, after all this time I would remove the posters and make him mine. You know he has a loving forever home that way and no one will have to miss him. Thank you for showing us all your fur children. The world surely would be a boring place without our kitties:) God bless always!
I hope Smokey gets to stay too. I can’t believe how well he and Freddie get on now. Leo and Moog where slightly put out by Smokey’s arrival for about a day, but just went back to normal and accepted him, whereas for an entire week Freddie was hiding and sulking as the there was a “new boy” on the scene. All it took was for me to put them in the spare room together, get on the floor with a laser pointer and play with them both together for half an hour. From then on they have been inseparable.
KM! ….. you could give Jackson Galaxy a run for his money! LOL ……. that was brilliant!
Cats just need something to share to be friends. A laser toy is a great way to introduce them. So glad Smokey and Freddie are getting along, and Leo came back to keep Moog happy.
What a wonderful looking quartet you have KM. Freddie and Smokey are very smart to have trained you so well in the arts of the laser.
What a wonderful treat to see your lovely cat family! It must be wonderful to come home to so many purring furkids!
It’s great to meet your furkids! They are all lovely! It seems the new arrival knew where to go.
🙂
Thanks for introducing the “family”. All are cute, especially your new addition!
You have a great furr family.
They are all adorable and I think Smokey knows he is home for good 😀
Happy Father’s Day to you and your furry nice family!!!! They are each beautiful.
There are 2 strays where we live. The momma (cricket) wants to come in but isn’t sure. Her son precious is a different story. He loves on us and comes in and sleeps for a couple of hours. Freddie looks like the cat my husband and I had years ago. His name was charger (when he was little his legs were moving before they touched the floor.) That got me thinking of the cartoon the Flintstones.
