Checkers & Edward
Location: Motown, Michigan, USA
Checkers and Edward were rescued from the mean streets of Hamtramck approximately 10 years ago. As you can see from their pictures, they are still very kittenish in appearance. These tuxedo brothers are inseparable! Edward (Muffin) is the one with the big black head and Checkers (Weasel) has the decorated nose. In their youth, they were both fine retrievers. Edward favored foam rubber balls and Checkers’ choice was a catnip-filled snake, These days, their favorite activity –“Showtime!”– involves running for their evening portion of canned cat food, delivered by my husband with great pomp and circumstance.

They’re cute! They remind me of a black and white pet I had named Trotsky.
Very handsome boys! It looks like they’ve been rather spoiled, I’d say. In my mind, all kitties should be totally and completely spoiled. It’s our job to do this and we will be graded by St. Peter on how well we succeeded, after we cross the rainbow bridge.

Livia is named for a late friend, if not she might have been named Aretha. She is enthralled by the boys; pity that one has gone paws up. Remind me of my Renzo at that advanced age.
