Love it!

Location: Grimsby, United Kingdom

Wilfred was rescued from a feral colony, being “looked after” by a women, who only fed them mashed potato. He had a severe case of ear mites, fleas, worms and ticks. He was about 3 months old, and very nervous of people, but quickly realised that I had cooked chicken! He’s a happy, healthy if slightly out of proportion kitty – eyes a little too large, very thin and big ears. But he’s an absolute sweetie, now aged 2 1/2 years.

What an adorable little guy! I and Mr. Wilfred are so glad you have chicken to make him a healthy, happy kitty. Now that he has his furever home with a loving mom, he thrives! Well done and many happy times ahead.

    Good pounce, caroline.

He looks pretty happy now. I love that phrase “but quickly realised that I had cooked chicken”. What a way to win over a scared kitten. My cats don’t hang around when I cook meat even though I offered them little scraps of it. I know it’s technically better they don’t eat people food, but it would be cute to see them go crazy over something I cook.

The way to a cat’s heart is through his stomach. Wilfred’s coloring is gorgeous! Thanks for caring for him.

Plain roast chicken is fine. The problem is that some common seasonings (onion, garlic etc) are bad for cats. Not a problem when saving a stray.

In the long term, cats need some nutrients they won’t get from muscle meat along, as they eat the innards and the partly-digested vegetable matter the bird, for example, has eaten…

He looks quite theatrical with his big eyes and ears!

Yaaaaaa for Wilfred and bless you for rescuing. When I rescued my two from a semi-feral colony it took them years to come around and now I can’t get them off me. 🙂
