First we adopted two two-year old male cats, but on day two one of them attacked my face. I looked like a domestic violence victim with slashes and a black eye. He is now in a special foster program for “unadoptable” pets. We kept the other guy, Buddie, then went and got this sweet baby kitten from the same shelter. The first photo I ever took of her at the shelter, she was in the litter box. My husband walked up and we admired her knowledge of how to cover the poop… good kitty… but then she stepped in it. Just a baby. She doesn’t do that anymore, and she just learned to give me headbutts. The two cats get along famously. The first time they met, Buddie grabbed her and started licking. They play, sleep and eat together. Check out the cute toes she’s got.

wow, sorry you got attacked! That’s gotta hurt a lot emotionally to be attacked by a pet you want to be able to cherish. Glad he found a place to stay; and good for you bringing in pretty Girlscout! I’m sorry about what happened to the other kitty and that you found him a place to stay instead of abandoning him. Maybe with enough help he’ll become adoptable again.
Girlscout really is cute. I’m happy to hear she and Buddie got along so well at first. He must have been lonely.
Obviously she lost no time in making herself at home. I love the thought of Buddie grabbing and licking her.

To append my earlier comment, thanks for adopting adult kitties. Not many people would have given them a chance. It’s very rewarding even if it doesn’t work out.

I have to add that I fostered an adult kitty who tended to bite – I was able to “love” him mostly out of it. I think he was abandoned or neglected in his previous situation. He is in his furever home now.
I love Girlscout’s little multi-colored toes. They really do look like jelly beans. Love her little black eye slits and black chin. Mixed in with all that white belly. Just too cute. Hugs and Kisses to Girlscout!

I’m glad your Girlscout is right at home with you & Buddie. I’m sorry about the other cat & what happened. I agree that Bud must’ve been lonely. All the best to them! My black, white, & pink girl is my sweetest kitty.
So sorry you were so violently attacked by the very cat you wanted to love and give a good home to. Hopefully, he will become adoptable. Good for you for adopting a kitten and she is wonderful. Bless you for being a purrfect mom.
Everyone is so smitten with this Girlscout kitten they forgot to POUNCE on her sweet little toes. I hope she & Buddie enjoy many years of headbutts, fun and purrs with you.

Bless you for adopting felines from a shelter! The one boy kitty probably had a traumatic background of some sort. I feel bad for both of you yet it all worked itself out. He is in a program where he may be rehabilitated (yet at least has a home). I love how Buddie instantly took to her. Some male cats make the best “mama cats”. Girlscout has the cutest licorice jelly bean toes and prettiest eye liner. Many happy years with your fur kids!

Aw, I love this photo of Girlscout. She sure is a charmer, and obviously won Buddie over in a heartbeat. I hope the other kitty is doing well and will someday trust people.
