Bentley

Bentley was found in our garage when she was a day old. She is now almost eight weeks old and has been through a lot. When she was four weeks old she fell down the stairs with our daughter. Last week I was told she has FIP. We are praying the vet is wrong. I took the attached photo before her diagnosis. Bentley looks like she is praying. Bentley got her name because I know I will never have a Bentley in my garage and I never thought I would ever find a kitten there either.

Bentley is a pretty baby kitty. I like her markings & sweet face. FIP can be difficult to diagnose. Maybe she was exposed to the virus, but will never develop it. I will send her good vibes that she will be completly healthy. Perhaps she’s grateful she got you to care for her & is sending up a thankful prayer. I wish Bentley lots of health, happiness, & snuggles going forward.

Just recently, we had one come in to our rescue who came up strongly positive on the FIP test. We all knew how that would end, but kept him happy and comfortable in solitary confinement. Well, guess what? He seroconverted, is healthy as a horse, and now finally has his first wish granted; a kitten roommate who is almost as playful as he is. Now we can work on his second wish; a family with whom he can live a long, healthy life. Bentley, go kick FIP’s butt.

Don’t give up on Bentley! There’s no way to absolutely diagnose FIP. A cat positive for the corona virus may or may not ever develop FIP. Lots more cats are positive on the test than ever do.

When Gabie first came to me, the vet said that he had been exposed to FIP, but nothing ever came of it. His death was from totally unrelated causes.

poor, sweet, dear little thing…thank you for all your caring and concerted effort to help little Bentley. I am sure she knows she is loved, the greatest gift any of us can give to another. Fingers crossed she pulls on through, many gentle cuddles to her.

What a sweet little angel is Bentley. Don’t lose hope, my 2 furbabies both tested positive for corona virus. Their mama & all their litter mates developed FIP & the breeder sadly lost all of them. We were terrified, but my beautiful babies are just fine and had their 13th birthdays last week. Wishing you many, many happy, healthy years of snuggly cuddles.

Prayers that Bentley has a long and happy life, but I’m glad that his life (no matter how long) has been filled with love and kindness.
I’ve never seen such an adorable loving little fuzz. Your Bentley is being prayed for by all of us TDKers and with that many folks on your side, Bentley is sure to survive it. After all, look what she’s already overcome. I hope she lives to be a very old cranky cat.
We have GOOD NEWS… Bentley had a second opinion. An ultrasound and blood work were done. She had a gall bladder infection that was causing the jaundice and puffy belly. She has went through a treatment of prednisone and anti-biotics. She got the all clear today. We have had her on a special diet and are now able to wean to a regular diet. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
