Dotty Pepper

After our previous cat Moka had to be put down due to age and failing kidneys, we went without a cat for a few months before we couldn’t handle the silence. I started looking on the web but the only kittens we liked were too far away. Visits to the local SPCA didn’t turn up any prospects.

One night I had a dream about a striped and spotted tabby which I totally forgot about until the next visit to the SPCA. When I went to the cat room there was a new kitten, temporarily named Fiona, that had come in the day before and had just been spayed. I went to the cage she was in and I almost dropped to the floor… there was the kitten from my dream!

I immediately put a deposit for the adoption and went to get my wife. The moment she saw the kitty it was love at first sight. We adopted Fiona and started thinking of a new name. Both of us are golf fans and one of our favorite lady golfers is Dotty Pepper. The name seemed to fit because of the tabby peppery fur and the dots all over her belly.
