Pounce?
very pretty – love those smokey colored eyes!
G’morning all….another cute orangie….be still my heart….
How absolutely, puffily sweet! Wouldn’t you like a necklace of those to keep around your neck? Snuggle with soft fur and hear purrs all day long.
Good Sunday morning all, (good afternoon, Kittenmaster). Best of the day to everyone, prayers to those in need and love to each and ever one of you!
really are there any ugly orangies?
You can never have too many orange stripey cats!
*sniff* I’ve never had one! I feel so deprived!
JCL
Come on — cheer up Miu! It’s never to late!
I never had a million dollars, but I am not going to let that — *sniff* — bother me — *sniff* — uh — I got go now. *sniff* *sniff*
Believe it or not I have never had a million dollars either… or a million Euros come to mention it…
It has never bothered me… till now…
*sniffle*
Don’t blame you though…
*bottom lip quiver*
Hi Pipa’s Mum!!!
Tamaki has a Mona Lisa smile.
Good I got in here first this morning ! Good day to the Kittenmaster and all TDK’ers, its only 7:09 am here in Beaverton Oregon. Its a nice day here the sun is supposed to be shining later today but right now it is overcast.
Hot oatmeal with Brown sugar and Butter is all I can provide at this time of the morning, but that is a good hearty, healthy, stick to your ribs type of breakfast.
Have a Great purrfilled day all of you…
Tamaki is an adorable little orangie kitten HOpe he brings you years of purrs and head bonks.
Ted
my Rocky loves oatmeal, begs for his own dish when I make it in the morning. havent made any for a while general only make it in colder wheather. But may need to make some to help Rocky gain weight after his sickness in june
How is Rocky doing? I know he really had you scared.
Rocky is recovering nicely, pretty much back to his old self just working on putting weight back on him. He is gaining weight, but slowly
If you look further down, you’ll seee I added to today’s brunch menu. Do Pacific Northwesterners eat grits?
We don’t eat grits here in the Pacific Northwest (I live in Oregon too), but my husband is from Philadelphia and I have now acquired a taste for them. I also enjoy (collard) greens, red beans and rice, scrapple…….mmmmmmmmmmm!
It may be 11 pm right now but all I can say is YUMMMMMMM scrapple….I could really go for scrapple and eggs and a nice big fat biscut right now…..but I’ll settle for this little cutie of an orangie instead…hmmm…marmalade for the biscut…that’s probably why I love the orange babies…reminds me of something sweet… 🙂
I’m in California, soon moving to Washington. One daughter and I eat grits (comes from my dad from Louisiana)
I too have never had an orangie but have know a few. My in-law’s Topaz was a great cat, very loving to all.
JCL
Hi, Kitties4deb! Where in Louisiana your is dad from?
And by the way, not all people from Louisiana eat grits — okay — I admit it — I had some a couple nights ago at the Pitiful Grill. 😉
GOD Bless You!
— The CatWrangler from Louisiana
JCL
Wow — it’s late! That second sentence should read: “Where in Louisiana is your dad from?”
That’s a result of too many grits, too late at night!
Hot oatmeal is oat porridge, isn’t it??? Actually I like it a lot. A butter eye and little sugar or berries on it – a quick, healthy and tasty winter breakfast.
A friend attended a party. She was told bring a gag gift labeled for male or female. She got a verynice soft pair of gloves. What’s the gag, she asked? The man replied, Ever see the little black grits in the package? That’s because the gritpickers weren’t wearing their soft gritpicking gloves and bruised them. Those are gritpicking gloves!
Hey Greycat, have you always lived in Beaverton, OR? I have applied for a job that will be in Hillsboro, OR and am wondering what it would be like to move up there. Naturally I have to wait till a job offer comes along and more than likely will have to wait on the idea of moving up to Oregon. I am considering the move as an eventual idea as California is becoming to full with the “me” types. People are not considerate of each other anymore and it is getting too crowded here in the Bay Area. I probably wouldn’t move for a year but it is an idea.
JCL
Hi, Greycat. Have a grrreat week, too.
Grey, it is true, you can never have enough orangies….I have two myself and they are so different from the other two..orange fuzzbutts and grey tabbies are my fav’s…(if I was forced to choose, lol)
Tamaki is so cute and fluffy!
How about some waffles, OJ, apple cider and maybe some ham and cheese omelets for the sharing circle?
Looks like this is my next stop. 🙂 A wonderful smell – can’t wait to taste them. *drooling on the plate*
If you look further down you’ll see I have some goodies for the brunch table.
Good morning TDK family (afternoon KM!!!:) )
I hope all is well for everyone and if not, my thoughts and prayers go out to my TDK family.
The sun is shining brightly in Central Florida and TigerButt has learned to stand on his back legs looking like a prairie dog (or would that be a prairie cat?) Anyways love to all.
This is orangie is adorable!!!
Love Terri
How about TigerButt the Meercat. Whenever one of mine do that my son always says they look like meercats.
Wishing all a good Sunday. Cloudy here and had numbers of storms come through since last evening. Not complaining, we really needed rain. I just don’t like the lightning strikes when they are close by.
Friday night I started letting the kittens out of the nursery for an hour. Again this morning. Chester Bean and Dusty are the brave ones and take over, even chase the big guys. They just love all the extra running and jumping room. PJ and LeiLani have only ventured into the hallway and scamper back to the nursery as soon as they see or hear any thing new. What fun for the babies, but a huge adjustment for the (15) three, two and one year olds and 18 year old grump Zasha.
If Amelia weren’t so round I might say meerkat, but she has to sit on her undercarriage so prairie dog she’ll stay.
Lightening alarms me, too, Elene. Our baby has taken to running and skidding down the hall. Hubby just stands there laughing all day. Some major kitten spoilage going down here.
Hey Teri, how about sharing some of that sunshine?
You got it Sharon!!!
**SUNNY DAY*
Meercat LOL
One of mine reminds me of a Meerkat, she’s so cute. This is a cute orange baby today.
The only problem is that no cat likes the sound “meer” anywhere next to “cat,” because that almost implies that we’re saying they’re “mere cats,” while every cat knows that it’s “mere humans” who are here to do their bidding!
Ann – perfect come back 😆
so sorry your emma passed to the rainbow bridge.
hee hee what a pretty little ginger beastie! I like the “ok, now what?” look – I suspect this one does EXACTLY as he pleases.
how about crepes? Banana and nutella?
Sounds wonderful! I made crepes for my 7-yeaf-old niece yesterday. She loved them. I actually looked for nutella at the store but didn’t find it. We will try banana and nutella next time. 🙂
I hope you get the chance to give it a whirl. They are so, well, decadent, is the best word to describe them I guess! oh, and if you have it, spoon a little marscapone and sprinkle with cocoa once you roll them up
Must. Go. To. Store. Now. Eating one of these could be fatal! 🙂
Oh no! You made me hungry again!
Good Sunday Morning, TDK-ers..
What a cutie-bug orangie…
Purrs and hugs to you …
I’ll bring the hazelnut coffee…
BTW, Catless, are you really catless? I sure hope not.
sadly, I am. Kitties make me sneeze, and while I would take all the meds to have one at home, right now I don’t have the space. Also, my fiancee is reluctant to have pets because he had a Siamese cat growing up and when she died he was broken hearted, and he doesn’t want to go through that again. I hope when we move to a bigger place, I’ll be able to say, “gee, hon, this place could use a cat!”
I lost my siamese in March of this year. It has taken 4 kittens to replace her, she left such a big hole in my heart. 🙂
I’m another one with allergies–too serious to have a cat unless there’s a major breakthrough–so I say that ALL cats are mine, in a virtual sense. 🙂
I hope that someday your fiancee agrees with you on having a cat. It is the one difficult part of being a cat owner, and that is knowing that you are likely to outlive your kitties. For me, though, that painful sadness is more than outweighed by the affection and love they give us.
I can understand not wanting to go through the heartbreak of a beloved pet’s death, but is it really better to deny them a chance to be a part of one’s life? He must have loved his Siamese cat so very much; that’s why it hurt so when she died, the depth of his pain was proportionate to his love.
I hope he can someday find it in his heart to share his love with another deserving cat or two. I don’t think he’d regret it.
JCL
Hi, Catless in T. O.
Just sweetly tell your fiancee, “Gee, hon — a cat REALLY does make a house a HOME!”
Good luck, Catless. If he doesn’t buy that — then call Dr. Phil!
After that — you’re on your own!
GOD Bless YOU!
— The CatWrangler from Louisiana
Thanks very much – ha, I’ll keep Dr Phil’s # on my speed dial…. 🙂
wonderful ginger weekend, overcast and gray here with some light showers good weekend to relax with the kitties and watch some tv
Fellow TDK friends-take a look at http://www.catoftheday.com today and see the heartwarming rescue story of another little orangie.
Skeeter’s story touches the heart!
What a wonderful and beautiful little kitty.
Love it. Our first orangey was an orphan at two weeks and we bottle fed him. He grew up big and strong and amazed everyone. All of our friends and family mourned this wonderful cat. He was one of the first victims of feline leukemia before vaccines were even a dream on the horizon.
Skeeter is so sweet, what a touching story. I’m glad he survived.
Did you see the pet screensavers they had advertised? They had cats and dogs who lick your computer screen! how cute.
Blimey, and I thought I might be first…morning stateside, afternoon UK, and hello to anywhere else in the world. My four are enjoying a SECOND consecutive day of sunshine, and good weather is given out for the next THREE days – honestly, anyone would think it’s summer…
Tamaki is very cute, but there is defiitely a hint of devil in those eyes!
Hi MCW – I still have tears in my eyes after reading your poem that you posted yesterday. It just expressed the love that we all feel for our kitties so beautifully. Thank you for sharing.
Hi, Rubia. How is Tikka doing?
Hi Rubia – thanks! Are you enjoying some welcome sunshine too? And, as Kiten Whisperer asks, how’s Tikka?
Hi Kitten Whisperer & MCW – Thanks for asking about Tikka. She is the same. It is very weird. She seems perfectly fine except for when she has these little spells. I made my hubby take her to the vet again on Saturday morning after seeing Dee’s story about her friend’s cat that swallowed the needle. The vet checked again very thoroughly and couldn’t see anything. So for now, I guess it is just wait and see. It is very frustrating and it is a bit worrying. I hate to think that there is anything at all wrong with her and I just want to help her. But I don’t know what more I can do. At least she seems to be OK most of the time – it is just those few occasions where something is obviously bothering her for a few minutes. 🙁

What a gorgeous kitteh…..give gentle sqeeze and kiss from kimmy, eh?
Happy Sunday all. What a sweet looking baby ginger fuzz butt. After seeing all these gingers just might have to add one to the family. That’s of course after I discuss it with Milton, Tilt the Deaf, Jazz and Georgine Pinky Toes.
Sure would love to hear the history behind those names.
–Catsgarden–
I love your babies names. First time I’ve laughed in several days. Thanks. 🙂
*Update on my Julie*
She’s still hanging in there. For what reason,I’m not sure. I got 1 ml. of baby food down her this morning & alittle water to wash it down. I’m keeping her comfortable until I can get her into the vet tomorrow.
Good morning TDKers…new & regulars
Hi Alex
G’Day Kittenmaster
I’m glad you were able to laugh, Susie. It’s good for the soul. Good luck tomorrow with precious little Julie. I’ll be looking for your call.
–Thanks Jo–
I had an episode earlier today & thought I’d be taking 2 cats to the vet.
My mama Runt was frollicking around while I was in town w/her kittens at Petsmart trying to get them adopted. My ol man said she was rolling around on the ground. You know how kitties like to get the people smells off them. Next time he sees her,her face on one side was all swollen up. Apparently she went & got stung by a wasp. I sat down on the rocking chair on our porch & put her on her back into the bend of my arm. She just laid back like a baby going to sleep & purred & sang to me while I held a cold compress on her face & neck. It didn’t bother her one bit. She’s just an adorable little love bug.
Julie is taking in alot more water on her own than the usual. My only problem is that she is so dehydrated,it is not going thru her. She hasn’t gone potty since yesterday morning. I hope the vet’s office is open tomorrow because I can’t watch her go thru this much longer.
I’m crossing my fingers & praying. With the moon being full right now,it worries me. Full moons tend to bring on bad luck.
Take care
Peace
Susie
Things will unfold as they are meant to, Susie. I hope you find some rest tonight and get the help Julie needs from her vet. Purrs and prayers coming to you.
Hope Runt is feeling better. When you have a big family, stuff happens, doesn’t it?
Susie: {{{hugs}}}
I’ll be keeping you & Julie in my thoughts. Big hugs, positive healing thoughts, purrs and headbonks to both of you.
–Thanks Rubia–
Did you get the pics I sent you of Prettygirls 2 kittens we rescued from the electrical pedestal? If you did, aren’t they adorable? It was worth the 4 wasp stings I got getting them out of there. They’re both getting fat & sassy & are also now w/the last kitten of the litter (orangie kitten). The gray one I named Misty Blue because of her color. Her black brother I named Scorpio because when he runs, his tail looks just like a scorpion stinger. And the Orangie,my ol man named him Rusty. I thought you would enjoy seeing them.
Hi Susie – Yes – I got the pics. Thank you! Such beautiful babies! You are very, very brave indeed to suffer not 1 but 4 wasp stings!!! Those kitties are certainly lucky to have been rescued by a special person like you!
Good start to a good day, hopefully. Lots of energy coming your way. When is hubby due back?
Good luck Susie, I’ll be thinking of you both x
Susie, you’re doing everything right. Keep your hopes up, dear, and please know you are in our prayers. No matter what, we are with you. Hugs to you and Julie!
Susie, I am glad you were able to help Julie today and that she is hanging on. It may mean she isn’t ready to go. Hope the vet can help her. Hugs and prayers.
We are all praying for you and Julie–hope the news is good tomorrow. {{{hugs and purrs}}}
Thoughts and prayers are with you and Susie. Hoping for the best. Hang in there. I pray all will be well with you both.
Meant Julie. Prayers all around. Hugs and Purrs. Lynn
what a sweet lil furry fella….kitty hugs for ’em
Glad to hear there is sunshine FINALLY in the UK..have some friends over there that I hope can “dry out” now. LOL
Wildcat FUZZ!
What you lookin at FUZZ?
I love my green toy FUZZ
any news of Julia
Good Morning all!
I have another kitty question for you guys. One of the two dudes I brought back from New Mexico has nasty, yellow diarreah (sp) with gas. Poor little dude. AT first I thought it was because he was eating so many grasshoppers in NM. He still has it and I think the others kitties are catching it, because there is more liquidy stuff in the box than solid. Is there anything over the counter that can help the dude? He is still playing and purring and does not seem ill in any way other than this. All the articles I read say it should either go away or require treatment by a vet.
What about really diluted Immodium? IN the kitty water perhaps?
Um, vet. Now. Let them decide. If others are catching it, it’s communicable.
Andi’s right. Poor little babies. Has there been a change in diet? Keep us posted.
–MerD–
Sometimes canned cat food will do that to young kittens. You should keep them on dry kitten food for now & yes,if you can afford it,talk to your vet
Good luck
I agree with the others, MerD. I think it’s diet, and not anything communicable. Sounds like they aren’t getting enough grain to form bulk. Definitely dry kitten food for young ones. Wouldn’t hurt to call the vet, of course, because none of us is an expert, but it sounds like a diet issue.
I had hoped that getting him off of the grasshopper diet and the gross stuff my mother would throw outside for him to eat, he would get better. I do have all 3 on wet food too, just once a day for extra nutrition, they we all so thin. The 2 dudes have bulked up quite nicely, Kiwi is still pretty small, but doing much better. Perhaps I have to take them completely off of the wet food. (they are NOT going to be happy about that! 🙂 )
Theyll hate you up and down for a couple of days, lol, then they’ll get over it.
You might want to try to mix wet with the dry, half and half, and they will eat it grudgingly. Do that for two days. Then on day three, mix 1/4 wet with 3/4 dry. By the end of the week, go completely to dry food and save the wet food as an occasional treat.
And I would at least call the vet. It may be something that can be answered over the phone, and you might want to stress that these are rescues.
Never hurts to give good people the opportunity to do something nice for a nice person like you!
awwww shucks! 😳 I’m blushing……….
Try some KMR, it might help with the weight.
Please get him to the vet tomorrow. If he is a kitten or very young cat, that diarrhea can overtake the animal quickly.
I thought I had cancelled this message! Drat! Anyhow, I rethought what to say and the more sensible comment is the first one. Sorry!
Thanks, and no worries. I am easily amused and hard to rile up. 😛
MerD,
I would call and ask the vet what to do. There is one form of diarreaha that is contagious to all cats and kittens. I know because I had some a few years back that got it. It can kill them, it did some of mine but the rest can be put on some antibiotics, like amoxi drops or Panmycin. I forget which one.
I just went to my vet and described what was wrong and he sold me some meds to use. Although, food change can cause the trots too. It’s just best to call the vet. It always gave me some peace of mind. Good luck and Purrs to you.
Don’t give anything OTC without checking with a pro—so much is toxic to cats, even when it’s OK for dogs. Used to be able to use Kaopectate, but the formula changed so it’s a no-no now. DO NOT GIVE PEPTO BISMOL-it contains aspirin. Take a stool sample to the vet tomorrow.
The 2 dudes already have a appt. with the “Meowmobile” to get neutered and shots for $10 on Tuesday.(I feel like I won the lottery finding the meowmoblie) I will ask the vet or vet tech. In the meantime I will pull them off the wet food and see if that helps too (I had been mixing it 1/4c dry and 1 can wet) .
Thanks, once again, YOU GUYS ROCK! 😀
I’ll try warm water and dry food, just to make it wet! Perhaps that will be enough? I’ll let you know.
😆 They loved it, stupid kittens. Bobbie turned her nose up at me but thats ok, she is becomming a chunky monkey anyway!
Funny! Glad they liked it!
What has Tamaki captured? Is it a toy or a feather duster? Whatever it is he is saying “IT’S MINE”!
Funny….that reminds me of an outdoor cat, Tom (how original, right?) who we had when I was a kid. Tom was forever dragging home feather dusters. Every neighbor within a square block probably wondered what on earth happened to their duster.
He had to kill the dust bunnies!!!
Ooh, it’s after-worship brunch time. I’ve got a bowl of grits, some maple-flavored sausage, a fruit salad, and some grape juice. Who wants eats?
mmmmmmmmmm SAUSAG!!!!!!!
There’s iced tea with lemon slices, blueberry coffee cake, cheese bread, and croissants on the brunch table. Anyone hungry while I fix more sausage while MerD in Colorado ate my whole batch?
Grey cats oatmeal was a stick to your ribs breakfast I have a feeling yours is more like stick to the hips.
Good; it’s about time food became our nourisher and not merely a necessary evil. Those minus-size women scare the living daylights out of me; they eat one carrot curl and three peas and claim to be full. I’m a nice-sized lady, and I love good food. If it sticks to the hips more men will notice, ’cause no one wants a bone but a dog.
I was just joking I am built more like a beach ball with legs. I haven’t seen my feet in years I know they are down there cause they hurt.
LOL!!!!!
😀
And then I move over here. Maple-flavored sausages? I can’t let them stay there doing nothing. Fruit salad definitely and some grape juice. I’m getting obsessed with cyber food. 🙂
what a beautiful, contemplative face.
At least the cute little cat wasn’t named Tamale.
A gorgeous boy! After the last adoption I said firmly ‘There will be no more cats in this household. I don’t have enough space, time etc. to take care for another one.’ BUT if that kitten would come to my door, he would be instantly welcomed as a family member. (I am a sucker, I know I am.)
Not a sucker, Miu, just a softie like the rest of us!!
His eyes are so wise.. like he knows so many secrets!
Beautiful boy… 🙂
what a beautiful furry bundle of purr!! so soft and cuddly cute! exactly what I need to forget all my problems for a few minutes
*picks up the little cutie and cuddles him for a few minutes letting the kitty purrs wash away all the bad feelings from the camping trip gone wrong*
Ever think about writing a screenplay of the weekend and presenting it to the Lifetime or Comedy Channel?
What a great idea…sounds like underneath all the arguing, there was a lot of hilarity…..
I wish there was something funny about it but this was truly mean spirited and ugly. It’s bad enough that it might end a friendship and, possibly, the housecleaning business that Teresa and I have worked so hard for. I am so stressed out over it that I am actually sick and really worried about my blood pressure.
Have you been diagnosed with high blood pressure? There are medications that are quite effective in lowering blood pressure (I take one). I know you don’t have insurance and that your BP was high at the dentist’s office, but if this is a chronic condition I’m trying to think of ways you might be able to control it. Is there a local health department that could refer you? Some pharmaceutical companies have programs that provide medications free or at low cost for those who can’t otherwise afford them.
I haven’t been diagnosed with high blood pressure but, with my blood pressure being so high when I was at the dentists and the fact that I am overweight, I am fairly certain that it is high. So far I am just working on my diet and trying to find better ways of dealing with stress. I am also taking several herbal remedies and drinking lots of water. I have a distrust of doctors and most prescription medication after seeing what has happened to several of my friends and relatives who went to doctors regularly but just got worse or were completely misdiagnosed. My uncle died from cancer after being repeatedly misdiagnosed and given medicine for asthma, bronchitis and other ailments. By the time the doctors finally realized he had lung cancer, it was way too late and he died just a few weeks after finally being told he had cancer. One of my friends is so depended upon prescription meds that she takes for a variety of different ailments (including meds to deal with the side effect of other meds) — all of which could have been cured by other means but the doctor is content to write prescription after prescription. These are just two examples.
Funny thing, I never felt sick until that day at the dentists office when my blood pressure was so high. Since then I feel awful – tired, weak, and my irregular heartbeat is worse now than ever. Maybe it’s just being worried about it … maybe stopping the caffeine so suddenly has something to do with it. All I know for sure is that this weekend did not help at all.
It is certainly important to have a doctor that you trust. It is possible now to couble check medical advice that you receive by going online. We can educate ourselves enough about a diagnosis to ask the doctor the right questions. Here is a link for the American Heart Association: http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=2114
You might want to take your blood pressure yourself from time to time on one of those free machines found at some pharmacies ro see if what you are doing is bringing it down.
Hope you are able to rest and relax today.
Owlwatcher,
Just a thought, did the dentist give you any meds for your toothache? Maybe you are sensitive to them or somewhat allergic and need to try something else. You can always ask a pharmacist about any side effects, if you’re taking any meds from the dentist.
Sorry your vacation was lousy. I know how that goes when more than one other person goes with you. It can be chaos. Hope you get to feeling better.
Owlwatcher, I have high blood pressure (and high cholesterol, too) due mostly to being overweight. The meds I take for both are generic and I can get a month’s supply at Wal-Mart for $4.00. But first get checked by a doctor, please!!!!
If you buy them in a 100-pill bottle at Sam’s Club or Costco they are really cheap-the HCL is aroud $6 and 20mg Lisinopril is $12. Since I just lost 35 lbs. I don’t have high blood pressure anymore.
Good for you, Sheba’s Mom!!! And thanks for the heads up on the 100 pill bottles. Only problem for me is that I don’t have a Costco or Sam’s Club close to me and it would cost more in gas to drive to one. Prices average out pretty close on the Lisinopril, though the HCL is priced better at SC or Costco. We may be getting a Sam’s Club here in the not-too-distant future.
Little Tamaki wants you to know that he is dubious about the green fluff.
He’s cute but whats the name? Tamaki?
What a beautiful orange ball of fluff! A gorgeous orangie boy!
Tamaki, Tamaki
So unique and beautiful
His curious gray eyes that melt your heart
His fuzzy fur that feels so soft.
So many reasons to love this kitty
Well, for one, he’s very pretty
He’ll steal your heart without a doubt.
Just look into his eyes and he’ll make you disappear
His purr must be lovely to hear.
This lil ball of energy hoppin’ ’round the room
He’ll make your heart go CA-BOOM!
We love him oh so much
from his soft fur to his gentle touch.
Cats make magic like that,
its so amazing
Tamaki, stop it!, you’re making me fall in love with you like crazy!
Very cute ending, Amanda. I like that.
thanks sharon
JCL
I gotta admit it — that was cute!
Good job, Amanda!
*applauding* Bravo!
I think I’m in love!
Hi Sox’s Mom I replied to yesterdays reply.
How is everyone?
I am trying to motivate myself into continuing my room cleaning/rearaning that started last weekend and has been put on hold during the week do to working. Plus yesterday i spent most of the day with my sister to celebrate my birthday early since it is on this coming tuesday and I will be working until 6pm in Palo Alto and still have to drive home in MH.
Unfortunately while cleaning I have noticed that I need to paint my room too. But that will have to wait until later.
Everyone have a great Sunday.
Ange
I know what you are saying. In December I had a bad water leak in my bathroom, so I got a new floor then the walls needed painting (finally getting that done now went to church with pretty blue fingernails 🙂 ) and I see I need a new sink and tub surround and on and on. I am thinking it is probably better never to start.
I know what you mean, Ange in MH,CA and Sandi from MT.
There always seems to be so much that needs done, it can be overwhelming. My hubby just installed a new sink faucet at his mom’s. They loved it.
I know, I know. You don’t really see the bad shape of your home until you start to fix a part of it. A ceiling doesn’t look too bad until you get a new floor. New wall papers make your doors and shelves look hideous… That continues until you have fixed EVERYTHING. 😀
Hi Ange, what does MH, CA stand for?
Karin from Alameda,CA
I believe it stands for Morgan Hills, CA
Whilst everyone is eating, drinking, and making merry, I’ll just play with Tamaki. (Feeds kitten sausage link and small piece of cake)
Well, I’m glad to see you are finally behaving yourself!
Vicki! are you holding out on me? That’s my sausage! 😆
OK, you ate, like, 10 pounds of e-sausage. Tamaki was lucky to get one link.
Tamaki is beautiful!!!!! He looks like a perfect little guy. I am also mom to a little orange guy…..I think they are the best. Enjoy him & love him.
Tamaki is a little gem.
But has anyone noticed that we’ve had quite a run of male kittens lately? Doesn’t anyone out there have a cute little female?
He is so BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Too perfect!
A perfect picture of a perfect kitten. I wish I could cuddle with this little orangie. My cats would be jealous, but on a rainy afternoon one cannot have too many cats to cuddle.
I wish it would rain here. It is soooooooo hot and the fires are so bad that there is no where to go to escape the smoke. My eyes burn and I think it makes me feel tired.
It had been pretty dry for a while here in DC. Finally got a little rain on Thursday and then some more today. But we’ll need a few more rainy days to catch up. Wish we could send some rain to you guys in the West.
adorable!!!
awwwww he is adorable!!! i hope he can outgrow the feral-ness…he sure is cute!
This little orangey looks as if he is about to tear into somebody or something.
Oh I’d LOVE an orangie!
Tamaki is adorabl, and he looks so wise! Of course he can “out-grow” the feral-ness, all it takes is love and patience from us humans. I have trained much older ferals, it is long work, but so worth it! They just need someone to trust.
Yay for Tamaki!
Good Night All and to all a good night!

Goodnight, Tina. And goodnight to all of you feline fans out there!

Nicely done, Shakira. I miss Ivory Bill too.
Me, too.
*sneaks in; looks around* Good they’re all gone and left this little beauty for me. 😀 picks up kitten cuddles and kisses him *sneaks off taking kitten with her*
Hey, whatcha doin’ with that kitty, little sister? *in best John Wayne voice as hand rests gently over the grip of a whack bonk stick* Just bring him back when yer done, ya hear? 😉
JCL
What?! Someone else impersonates Duke, too?
JOHN WAYNE — “Well, pilgrim — I think we got ourselves a good-for-nothing cat rustler on the loose — or worse — a cat burglar! We’re goin’ need help on this one. Wire The CatWrangler from Louisiana!!!”
(Once again, The CatWrangler from Louisiana to the rescue!)
SFX-“Clippity, cloppity, clippity, cloppity, clippity, cloppity” — (I don’t know why we need that sound effect — after all he’s driving!)
THE CATWRANGLER FROM LOUISIANA — “Mister Wayne, did you call, sir?”
JW — “Nope — I didn’t call you. I sent ya a wire.”
TCWFL — “Oh, sorry sir. Anyway, what can I do for you?”
JW — “Well, Mister CatWrangler, we got ourselves a cat rustler on the loose. Tamaki is missing!”
TCWFL — “The missing cat is Japanese?”
JW — “Heck boy, I don’t know. Who do ya think I am — Lieutenant Columbo?”
TCWFL — “Oh, no sir. I mean I can see eye-to-eye with you. I never could tell which eye Lieutenant Columbo was looking at me with.”
JW — “Well, never mind that, pilgrim. Now let’s git busy. You ever heard of the website, The Daily Kitten, otherwise known as TDK?”
TCWFL — “I’ve heard of it.”
JW — “Well, they have a member there…”
TCWFL — “What? Wait a minute. You were on the internet? I thought you died before it was invented by former vice president, Al Gore.”
JW — “Just go with it pilgrim — OKAY?”
TCWFL — “Yes, sir. I’m sorry sir.”
JW — “Now as I was saying, they have a member there with the name, Sandi. Now Sandi appears to be from Montana.”
TCWFL — “Is she any relation to former San Francisco quarterback, Joe Montana? He used to always beat the New Orleans Saints! In fact, in one game played at the Superdome, with less than a minute to go, I saw him lead the 49ers to a come-from-behind victory.”
JW — “I ain’t talkin’ football, pilgrim! Now look boy, are ya listening to me, or what?”
TCWFL — “Oh, yes sir. I’m sorry sir.”
JW — “Well, alright then.”
TCWFL — “Can you tell me what happened, sir?”
JW — “Well this Sandi from Montana reportedly snuck in, looked around, and figured that no one else was there except for this little bundle of fur by the name of Tamaki.”
TCWFL — “The Japanese cat?”
JW — “Alright — if you want it to be a Japanese kitty — then FINE — it’s a Japanese kitty! Now let me continue. Now this here Sandi from Montana picked up the kitten, cuddled it, kissed it and then snuck off taking Tamaki with her.”
SFX-(TCWFL — chuckling)
JW — “What’s so funny there, pilgrim?”
TCWFL — “I’m sorry sir. It’s just so dang funny listening to you pronounce the name, Tamaki!”
JW — “Well, anyway — do you think you can help us — or not?”
TCWFL — “Well, sir, Montana is quite a distance away. I’ll need money for food, fuel, accommodations, snacks, breakfast with members of TDK — oh — and did I mention, fuel?”
JW — “Yeah, ya mentioned it. Uh — I tell you what. We’ll git back to ya on this. It might a bit cheaper if I went with my original plan of using the whack bonk stick.”
TCWFL — “Sir, I tell you what. I’ll do it without breakfast with the TDK members. How ’bout that, sir?”
JW — “Well, pilgrim, I don’t know. I tell you what — I’ll call some friends of mine on my cell phone and see what we can do.”
TCWFL — “You have a cell phone? I thought you died before former vice president, Al Gore invented the mobile phone.”
(SFX-music up)
ANNOUNCER — “Will John Wayne, portrayed by Kitten Whisperer, give in, seeking The CatWrangler from Louisiana’s help? Will The CatWrangler from Louisiana, portrayed by The CatWrangler from Louisiana, negotiate for less and get the job? Will we have other bad sound effects to listen to? Do TDK members from Europe, or anywhere else for that matter (including those in the United States,) really know what in the world we’re talking about? Will anyone care? In fact, do I, the announcer, really care? Find out next week, as our story, “Missing: Tamaki, the Cat with the Green Duster”, continues at this same time, on this same website!”
(Lawyers have informed us to make the following announcement: “The preceding load of litter box material does not necessarily reflect the views or opinion of ‘The Daily Kitten’ website, it’s members, [especially Sandi from Mt and Kitten Whisperer], Tamaki, former vice president, Al Gore or the late, great actor, John Wayne.
If you or anyone else you know have been offended in anyway by this really bad story, please contact the law firm of ‘Slippe, Falle & Sioux.’ If you feel you need further help, call Dr. Phil.”
CatWrangler….your “story” is very funny, quite interesting, and the funniest part is I could actually hear John’s voice in my head as I was reading and that made it all the funnier…thanks for the great writing….. 🙂
I’m laughing so hard, I’m slapping my knee. Knee slapping funny — now that’s funny. Love that zany sense of humor, TCWFL!
LOL! Brilliant!
Laughing out Loud 😆 Well done, perfect for a Monday laugh.
Thanks for the great script, CatWrangler!
Awesome! Thanks for the laugh! 😆
That’s marvelous! We want more. More! MORE!!!
JCL
Oh, gee Miu — now the pressure is on!
Seriously, I’m glad y’all got a laugh from it. It was honestly just a little reply that grew — and grew — and then grew some more!
In fact, when I was in junior high school — way back — way, way back — I used to do impersonations, including John Wayne. I was a big fan of Rich Little who was — and probably still is the best at doing impersonations — most likely in Vegas. I even did a pretty good Peter Faulk as Lieutenant Columbo. I usually had a pack of Certs as a prop. I would cross my eyes, with one eye facing forward. I just wish that I had an old rumpled rain coat like he had!
I guess I’ll have to hire writers now. Anybody looking for a low paying job — with little or no benefits?
Y’all take care, and GOD Bless all of You!
— The CatWrangler from Louisiana
Hey, I think you should write skits and perform at comedy clubs. I bet you would write funnier stories than most of pros. Think about it, I mean it. What kind of work do you do now?
–To all my TDK family–
Before I go & try to get a couple of winks of sleep in,I wanted to thank you all, there are just too many to list, for all your love & prayers & support during this awful period I’m going thru w/my baby Julie. JCL
LOL!!!
I love that look — it’s like Tamaki is trying to tell us, “This is MY green duster and nobody — I mean nobody — will ever take it from me!”
“Y’all take care — and Tamaki, don’t fur-git to clean your paws before — and after dinner. Oh — I see that you already have. Never mind!”
— The CatWrangler from Louisiana
Thank you all for your wonderful comments! Especially the poem! ^^ If you can’t get enough of his cuteness check out his myspace! – Yes he’s very famous! 😀
And all of you who saw the evil in those little eyes you’re very right, he is sadly not very cuddly yet. heh *crosses fingers* Hopefully one day.
Thanks again!
*hug*
Tamaki Godzilla–what a wonderful big name for such a tiny “monster!” He is a beautiful kit. Good luck with getting him to cuddle.
Congrats, you have a gorgeous boy! PS. Could you please pass a few kisses and belly rubs to him?
Late evening or early morning everyone, sitting here at work and reading the comments from today….love the warmth TDK family gives…
Susie in CA, both you and Julie are in my prayers tonight and have been all weekend. And hope that your mama cat feels better after the wasp sting.
Everyone have a good evening if you are still up and about, if not hope that you dream only good things….bless one and all..
TCWFL, now that you have made me almost fall out of my chair at work laughing so hard that my co-workers are wondering if I am ‘ok’ to work!!! Thanks for the wonderful story, wish I had that kind of quick imagination….I do have the quick wit but not the story telling…and obviously not the typing skills I normally have with these sticky keyboards at work, sigh…
JCL
Thanks! Glad you liked it.
You must be somewhere in Europe, because it’s 4:35 in the morning here in Louisiana and quite dark.
Oh, and if your co-workers are giving you grief, you have my permission to use Kitten Whisperer’s Whack Bonk Stick! 😉
GOD Bless You, Fluffy AZDeb & the horde, Max, Haje, B, Lil girl, and have a grrreat week!

The Homeless Ones
Starring: Pixie, E-Pee, Marie & Ripstein
Channel: tribute
I made this video to raise people’s awareness of the sad plight of homeless companion animals, especially cats and dogs. It is my hope that after viewing my video, you will find it in your heart to adopt a homeless pet or volunteer some time and effort with a shelter or rescue organization. And, altering ALL cats and dogs really does help the overwhelming problem of pet overpopulation. My best wishes to all the wonderful people who do give up their time and lives to help stray and homeless cats and dogs. The images used in this video are my original creations, and are a combination of two or more photos and then worked on in PhotoShop.
While John Wayne and Cat Wrangler argue over what to do about Sandi from Montana she sneaks back in gives the kitten a final kiss and cuddle and leaves him. He watches his would be rescuers with big amazed eyes while Sandi from Montana sneaks back out. Tamaki says he already knows cats are smarter than humans, yawns widely and curls up for his early morning nap. JW and CW continue to discuss the problem.
JCL
JOHN WAYNE — “Well, pilgrim, looks like the case is solved. What do ya say we mosey on over to the chuck wagon for good grub — like sushi?”
THE CATWRANGLER FROM LOUISIANA — “I reckon so. I just love a happy ending, don’t you Mister Wayne?”
JW — “Yep. Just don’t go getting soft on me there, pilgrim.”
TCWFL — “It was nice of Sandi from Mt to do the right thing, sir. Don’t you agree?”
JW — “Yep. It proves that there are still fine people out yonder. Well, Mister CatWrangler, I reckon we ought to head back to the ranch and catch some shut-eye.”
TCWFL — “Yes, sir. It’s nice to know you still ride tall in the saddle, sir.
“Mister Wayne — sir — may I call you Duke like your friends do?”
JW — “Well, thank ya for the compliment there, pilgrim. And by-the-way, just call me “Mister Wayne” for now.”
TCWFL — “Yes, sir, Mister Wayne, sir.”
FINAL SCENE — Our heroes ride off to the sunset — except they stop, dismount and then climb into a limo to complete their ride to the country club. (That final scene is partially stolen from the great Mel Brooks’ film, “Blazin’ Saddles.”)
ANNOUNCER — “That concludes our presentation of “Missing: Tamaki, the Cat with the Green Duster”. It was brought to you by The Prune Juice Producers of California — ‘When the tough get going with California Prune Juice, they just go — and keep on going!'”
(Once again the lawyers have informed us to respect the nearly 1200 Prune Growers of California who work very hard providing prunes for North America — and the world! Without them, we would just be another group of constipated people!”)
LOL!
ps thanks for the laugh
JCL
