POUNCE
Good Morning TDKr’s: Now Jack Sparrow is my kind of kitty. Looks like she is having a hard time keeping them together for the pic. Too cute.
TGIF – anyone for a margarita? I’m on vacation next week, so probably won’t be around that much.
Have a great vacation see you in a week or so. Oh most definetly I would love a margarita no salt please.
Oooooh, Mango Margarita from Chili’s!!!!! Yum, yum!
Vacation
All I ever wanted
Vacation
Had to get away
Vacation
Meant to be spent alone
sorry, it popped in my head and now it won’t go away!!!
Thanks, now it’s in my head. Only I’m spending my at home with my high school girlfriends who are coming to visit for the 4th. slumber party.
I’ll have my vacation in a couple of weeks. My brother is coming to visit me from Denmark. I haven’t seen him in 5 years, so I’m looking forward to a lot of fun!
Please! How about a regular one AND a mango margarita? It is Friday!
Wastin’ away again in Margaritaville,
Lookin for my lost shaker of salt.
Some people claim Intuition packed it away,
But I know…it’s my own damn fault!
LOL 😀
Even funnier because I love Jimmy – favorite song of his for me is “schoolboy heart” Wife says that it’s a good song for me
Good Morning TDK’ers
pounce!
Dang!! I have been sitting her for over a minute hitting my refresh button and you guys still beat me!! haha
It’s a crap shoot. You’ll make it one of these days. Have a margartita and enjoy. Aren’t these babies darling.
One day I’ll get it… the kitties are absolute dolls… isn’t it funny how one litter can have babies that all look different.
Please pass a margarita this way… can’t wait to start vacation after work today… 5 days off!! YAAAA!!
Thu-ploof! Lands on the floor to cuddle with todays kittens! today is my last day before vacation so I have cinnamon rolls, crispy bacon, waffles, juice and latte’s
Have a safe and happy vacation! Talk to you when you get back!!
Bring me a present please!!!
Oh… is bringing presents an American tradition??
Ok! Could I have one too please?
When I get back, I’ll bring everyone something. Whatever was the best meal we cooked, I’ll bring it on July 9 and share!
Latte and cinnamon bun for me, please. Hm, might not go to well with above mentioned Mango Margarita! I guess I’ll save the margarita for a little later and pig out on breakfast with ppearson.
they are all so cute. i love them. i want them all =)
These are some good looking kittens! I think the charcoal tux & the butterscotch one are my faves. Kitten socializer = awesome vocation 🙂
Aack!! More adorable cuties! Nice theme this week Kittenmaster. Thank you. This rounds out my week very well.
Good afternoon, KM! And whatever time of day it is for all TDK friends, good day! I second Joan’s sentiments about the kitty clusters this week. I’ve enjoyed them so much. Let’s do it again soon, ok?
GOD BLESS THE Johnston County Animal Protection League !!
Good Morning Everybody, What a cute batch of babies!!!
It would be so difficult just picking one, two, three you get the drift here.
ha ha
Picola and Blue need to come to work with me. I think we’d all be in a better mood at work with two office kittens.
There isn’t one office I can think of that wouldn’t benifit from the presence of a cat or two.
I’d whole heartedly agree. Too bad I am the only “cat” person in the office. Boo Hoo for me!
I know my morale would increase no matter what was going on with a kitten on my lap.
Kitties in libraries! I want some!
There used to be a cat in a library in San Diego. Then one day this guy brought his assistant dog in. I’m not really sure what disability the guy had, but he had a dog and so was allowed to bring it into the library. Well, the library cat didn’t like this one bit, and attacked the dog and scratched its nose. Well, the guy – AND the dog – were apparently severely traumatized by this – lives were completely messed up – so of course the guy sued! The case went on for at least a couple of years, if not more. The poor kitty went to the Bridge before it was ever settled. But eventually it got thrown out of court. Common sense does triumph in the courts on occasion!
There’s actually a wonderful Library Cat movement worldwide. A quick sniff of Google gives a map of where they can be found–here’s the URL.
http://www.ironfrog.com/catsmap.html
In deference to our canine friends, there are also reader assistance dogs up here in Maine–they’re very attentive, and little kids love reading to them.
My Redkit shows a marked preference for mysteries, herself. The more engrossing they become, the more she likes to lie across them.
My kitties love to read with their tummies too. The only problem is they prefer to read the same stuff what I am reading. 🙁
You know, wouldn’t it be great if offices could borrow a few kittens or puppies from the local shelter and host them? Eventually, somebody would get so attached that they’d officially adopt the critter, so the office goes back to the shelter and borrows another.
It’d work better for offices with a lot of people so you wouldn’t reach pet saturation too quickly and where the animals could be in a separate area so people like me with allergies wouldn’t end up with so many hives that they look like the Michelin Man.
GREAT IDEA…
Beautiful babies and such a variety of color! I would take them ALL!
OK, people, let’s get out there and vote for Redford. He’s in the lead and lets make sure he STAYS in the lead
http://www.arcamax.com/catsanddogs/galpic-26901
And a very big good morning to Alex and Liza
Redford has gotten the votes from my fur-babies!!!!
Yes SIR!
Have voted SIR!!
Good job soldier, at ease now.
Redford got my vote, too. Love the foster kitties!
I keep voting till they won’t accept anymore from me. He is a handsome devil!
Just voted multiple times. Go Redford!
Done! Thanks for the reminder!
Toby has voted for redford! He got a little distracted withe mouse though.
Thanks for everyone that voted for Toby too(different contest). If you haven’t don’t forget please (does not accept repeat votes). Then we could have two orange winner!
http://photocontest.shutterfly.com/action/photocontest/vote?contestId=1101&entry=198146
And again thanks for all the positve thoughts that everyone sent toby he sends head bonks and tail twitches your way.
Votes have gone out to both orangies! Good Luck!
And if this gang ever enters a contest they will have my vote as well
🙁 So, Toby didn’t make it???? I am sorry for that. Tober Toes is a real handsome fellow and the smiling pic was a great shot. The page discarded recurrently my votes – I demand a rerun!!!!!
Hi Alex!
Hi KM!
I voted for Redford. He is so handsome 🙂
I only had time to lurk yesterday 🙁
Yesterdays kittens were a truly awesome bunch and todays kittens are also beautiful. Such a mixed bunch of cuties.
Please cross your fingers for Shadow, one of my feral kitties. I noticed what appeared to be a little patch of fur missing on his back when he first came. I didnt want to scare him to death right off so I waited a couple of days. Last night I got a good look at it and it is a sore. The sore looks almost healed but when I palpitated around it, that area is swollen and mushy. Looks like little Shadow has an infection. I mixed some Baytril in his food last night and I will take him to Tom’s Town with me tomorrow and get Betty to help me reopen the wound and clean it out (yuck). I think he will be allright but with the sore almost healed the infection has probably been there awhile. Everyone else is doing good. Y’all have a great weekend! I may not have much time during the next couple of weeks except to lurk.
Bless you for taking care of that hurt baby!
–Healing prayers heading your way KITTYPAW–
Good luck to you and to Shadow!
Hi, KM! Hi, Alex!
Sending healing rays to Shadow so he gets over the infection quickly & healthily!
Sending positive energy to Shadow. Good luck with that.
Good luck to Shadow.
Purring and praying for Shadow! Ooops, there comes a load of head bonks and smooches too!
voted
Done!
Ditto!
I got my votes in! Go, Redford! Thanks, Instinct, for the reminder.
I agree, Instinct, and
since Rainingwolf in Oregon has pneumonia and not able to adequately campaign for Redford these last 2 days of the race, we should support a fellow TDKer and spread the word so that Redford wins the race. It will help Rainingwolf in Oregon feel better. I vote my 5 votes every day. It only takes a few seconds of time, so please vote 5 times today and 5 times tomorrow. Thanks.
I voted for that pretty boy!
Duly voted. Here in Chicago, voting early and often just comes naturally!
Done! I voted! Go Redford!!!!!! Good day to all, THU..PLOOF
Redford got my fave 5 and holds a nice (but not insurmountable) lead. Let’s vote early and vote often…”It’s the Chicago way!” 😆
We cast our votes today. Yea, Redford!
Done deal – Five more from me
HI All!!
Good afternoon KM
Hi Alex!!
What a bunch of cuties. Little Jack looks like he could hold his own with my Bogman (who doesn’t know that he’s a little cat! He thinks he’s a panther only grey!!)
Love to all and I’ll share my latte with anyone who needs the caffeine
Love, Terri
Caffeine?!?! Did someone say caffeine??
Extra caffeine this morning!!
A kindred spirit! 🙂
Did anyone say Pierce?
yes, you did 🙂
Did someone say Johnny Depp????? With chocolate sauce?????? I’m in heaven………
DID ANYONE SAY “CHOCOLATE BODY PAINT” ???? It’s a type of chocolate sauce for desserts…
Yes… I can find the relation between that and Pierce…
😉
You know, sexism is a very ugly thing…. 😀
Don’t know why you are saying that Instict!
🙄
*mumbled giggle*
KM, I am sorry to do a non-fluffy thing, but I need to vent for a minute!
I was promoted to Controller of my company and then my promotion was taken away and given to a new employee, who is male. My boss told me that this happened simply because I was a woman.
Now can anyone tell me if this is right or fair?
Neither right, fair or legal. Not sure how much of a stink you want to raise though since it sounds like these jerks would probably fire you if you raised a fuss.
VERY unfair and against the law…
You have every right to sue your employer over that one–just make sure you have proof!
Your boss actually said this? And you did not immediately go to your Human Resource Department? Or to your bosses boss?
I believe that’s illegal – discrimination on account of sex, at the very least. Can you afford the lawyers?
I’d line up another job with another company, ASAP; document what you’ve been told, and by whom… and after you accept a new job elsewhere, sue the pants off your employer. Your boss should know better, and if not, then his or her boss should sure as hell know better!
Now everyone knows why I committed Bossacide!!!
Thanks everyone!! Love Terri
Get a lawyer and start a lawsuit. That is so far out there that they deserve to be sued for everything.
Don’t be afraid to fight them. It’s not fair, or legal, or right
Oh, and if they try to fire you for bringing a discrimination suit, that will just dig their hole even deepter.
Get a good lawyer, Terri
I appreciate all the advise, but the biggest problem is that my boss is the owner and I’m HR. See my biggest problem? Please help. Love to all, Terri
and I have talked to a lawyer. He said that I had a case, but I had to stay at my job so that they didn’t have any amunition to shoot down the case!
**{HUGS}**
Talk to your lawyer a little more. What your boss did was wrong. More chocolate is on the way. {{{HUGS}}}
Hi, Terri. You might want to consider filing a complaint with Florida’s Equal Opportunity Office. Here is the website: http://www.dot.state.fl.us/equalopportunityoffice/titlevii.htm
I think they will assist you without charge, if they think you have a good case. Good luck!
Terri…this kind of stuff makes me so angry and it IS illegal. I also know that these types of lawsuits take a heavy toll on the victims. My thoughts and prayers are with you….but only you can decide if it is worth the sacrifices you will have to make….
SO not right and SO not fair.
Remember that once you file an official complaint you are legally protected from retaliation and make sure that they know you know. In most awards, the big bucks don’t come from the discrimination but from retaliation awards. You actually have more protection once you file an official complaint!
File with the EEOC (federal), your state, and possibly even your county or city if they have a non-discrimination statute. You don’t necessarily need an attorney–it depends on your situation.
It will take an emotional toll but knowing your rights helps. It’s standard SOB technique for the employer to wind things out for as long as they can, to try and wear you down. Make sure you have somebody lined up to give you emotional support not just at the beginning, but all the way through. (Like this board!)
Good luck and lots of hugs and headbutts.
Oh terri, I’m so sorry this is happening to you. You know I believe in Carma(sp?). And sometimes those who do evil don’t wait until another life time. And sometimes we need to help evil doers get theirs. Dont back off, go after him. He is wrong. I will be your cheering section if you want it. Also, I still know where that deep hole is, and because its in the middle of the desert, I’m sure there will be snakes in there, he’ll fit right in!
And dear ones, I have a shovel.
Whatever you can get in writing will make your case stronger. Even an email will help. Did he put in writing that you had the job?, or can you get him to explain to you (again) why he changed his mind? Did anyone else hear him either give you the job or take it away again, even if they didn’t hear why he rejected you?
As a former HR person I know the more physical evidence you have, the better. Otherwise it can become a matter of “he said, she said.”
Okay, so we aren’t always fluffy here, but bossman should know better than upsetting a TDK’er.
I’ve misplaced the email address where you click to feed the shelter animals. Can someone post it again, please?
Here it is. http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/clickToGive/home.faces?siteId=3
How about chocolate body paint AND Pierce? 😉
I thought that was a given…
Chocolate body paint, Pierce, and Johnny Depp. . .
*thud*
(good thing I always wear my helmet to TDK)
Is Pierce in the sharing circle? Where? Pass the Pierce and Picola and I’ll be happy all day!
Pierce! Pierce! Pierce! I vote for Pierce!
Pierce is perfect, but Banderas is best!
Did you see in Walgreen’s they have a display of his new cologne “Antonio”–he is gorgeous!
Oh hell yes…..are u the one who lost your position to a male employee??
GET A LAWYER!!!!
Wow, I am going on vacation too next week, camping and boating and I defintely plan to take my margaritas! I love today’s babies, I’ll take them all, please. Whats 5 more – I only have 11 now!
I have 2 cats and its a handful… I really admire all of you with so many!!
wow!
Well, some of them are feral cats I just feed, one lives at my bookstore, so there aren’t eleven in the house, only 5.
Me too! I’ll be camping on Douglas Lake in TN. No computer access for a week so I will miss a bunch of cute kitties, but I will catch a tan, eat lots of ribs, burgers, steaks, brats and fresh tomatoes and be with my whole family. We have camped over the 4th at Douglas lake for 33 years now. Where are you going?
Another batch of babies to make me sigh and wish for one of my own.
Good morning TDKers and happy Friday. To everyone that’s going on vacation for next week – have a good one.
These kitties are precious, as I knew they would be.
*Takes kitties to the sharing circle*
Who are you, and what have you done to my friend, HM??
LOL 🙂
maybe I hit her too hard with the wack-bonk stick…
I feel so guilty now 🙁
You DID hit me too hard. Now I’m having personality issues. It’s ALL YOUR FAULT
*points at Instinct*
🙂
See? NOW she’s getting better! That’s the HM we know and fear (and love).
Oh, well if she’s getting better I don’t feel so guilty anymore 😀
I want one! Or more!
I bet Jack would get along very well with my Spooky cat. She’s a mischievous black furrball, too.
I love Spooky’s photo on catster. She looks like my kind of cat.
Thank you! She’s a joy to have (usually) — silky, sweet and sassy, too!
Thanks for bringing the babies to the circle. Now pass me a latte and a blue!.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
TGIF
What a bunch of cuties this morning! I hope Huddy’s Mama will let me hold Picola for a moment…
The good news is that my remaining 3 kittens are beginning to allow me to pet them, at least when they’re eating food. And they’re beginning to play with the toys I’m animating for them. Yay!
New photos will be posted in a few minutes on Catster; will mention here when they’re updated.
It’s a wonderful thing that you do anncetera. What fun and it must be rewarding when the kits begin to trust and love you back.
They’re only just beginning. Sadly, the only kitten who would let me handle her much was the dreadfully ill kitten who ended up with seizures.
I’m hoping the next few days might win these three others over.
Not to worry, they’ll come around. Hopefully sooner than later.
Try going in the room where they are and just law on the floor and don’t move, they may come up and check you out & see you are ok. Also give them lots of treats, let them take the treats out of your hand.
I’ve been doing the lying-motionless-in-the-room thing, several times per day. Twice, now, I’ve had a kitten fall asleep on my thighs. I’ll pick up treats today, and will work on getting them to take treats from my hands.
Anncetera, I love the kittens and Mama pictures! What cute little creatures! Glad you’re taking such good care of them!
The little cat who was so sick is now at the Bridge. From what I hear, Chester and the kittie are sharing a very large tuna fish sandwich. Just thought you’d like an update!
Persistence and affection will win over any feral kitten. Just hang in there and keep feeding and petting and socializing them. You’re doing such a great job with them!
Mamma kitty and her kits are so cute. Thank you for taking them in and giving them a better life. You are an angel.
I just saw Mama Kitty her babies – too precious. Huddy and his brothers sent a friends invite. I could just snuggle them all!!
We’re being spoiled. It’s been the Daily Litter all week. I’m going to OD on the cuteness.
I’m right there with ya !
These little guys are so adorable , the cuteness is nearly painful 🙂
JCL
Good morning, everybody! I had my breakfast burger with tea at Cracker Barrel earlier this morning.
And last night, Craig Biggio joined the “3000 Hit Club” during last night’s game where the Houston Astros beat the Colorado Rockies. It was truly one of those great moments in baseball.
The number 3000 seems appropriate with the overload of cute kittens we have seen recently here on TDK. It’s been fun to see all these babies this past week.
“Y’all take care, and don’t fur-git to clean your paws before — and after dinner.” — The CatWrangler from LoUiSiAna
What is a breakfast burger? Just a regular burger eaten at breakfast or something else? It sounds good. I’ll take Blue please for some cuddle time.
JCL
Hi, paulajeanne! Several years ago, after working all night, I went to Cracker Barrel for something to eat. Now, I wasn’t in the mood for a standard breakfast — much like our friends here on TDK usually are. No, I wanted something different. So my waitress mentioned that I could order anything that could be prepared on the grill.
I asked her, “Can I order a cheeseburger?” She answered, “Sure.” Then I asked her another question, “Since it’s time for breakfast, could I add bacon to that?” She replied, “No problem.”
Thus began my tradition of ordering what I call a “breakfast burger” at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store.
In fact, several times during the preparation of my burger, it’s not unusual for a couple of waitresses to get together and put in an order of their own. It just smells so good so early in the morning!
Enjoy your own “Breakfast Burger”!
OH i love the Cracker Barrell. I only eat there on road trips, which is a good thinkg cos i would eat ten pounds of grits a day otherwise!
Hi Tober Toes, how is our little Tobias doing today? You must give us updates on the little man.
I am sure the little guy is sleeping quite well today as he decided to get the feline frenzies last night at about 1am that lasted 2.5 hours. He was given a clean bill of health on Wednesday. There is a little nerve damage fromt he procedure, but his ear drum had been ruptured and wasnt healing well so the vet had to go deep in his ear and must have twitched a nerve becasue now he has a lzy third eye lid. The vet said we just have to wait and see if it gets better. It doesn’t seem to affect him any as he plays fetch adn hide and go seek more enthusiastically than ever. I know he is happy about no more ear cleanings. Although there is still a little discharge.
He is no longer that baby in the picture. He is a big 12 punder. Thanks for your concern and votes!
Funny you should say that Tobias had the “feline frenzies” last night because my two did, too! I don’t know what set it off, and it was really unusual because it’s usually Max, my “ADHD” cat that goes on a tear…but last night both of them were dashing around, crouching, with big dilated eyes, and making me tired from just watching them! Must have been something in the air (or outside the windows, which were open because it has just cooled down to a very, very nice 70 degrees for the past couple of days.)
–Full Moon sets them off, believe it or not
Could it be because we are coming into a new moon?
Oops!! that should have been full moon.
Maybe…sometimes the full moon affects people, too. I used to be in retail, and when we’d get an unusually persnickity customer or even a mean one, we’d say, “is it time for a full moon?”
CatWangler, I love Cracker Barrel! You didn’t happen to bring the hashbrown casserole for us to share?
JCL
Ooops! I didn’t know that I was supposed to share.
Anyway, Great Dane, this may be the only time I say this: “My bad!”
And then I’ll add to that, three words all women want to hear their man say, “I was wrong.”
I can say that. Doesn’t meant that it’s TRUE, but I can say it 😀
You are onto it! 😉 I’ve always said that my favourite line is “I told you so!”
Everybody enjoy their vacations next week. Can I borrow Picola for a bit? She’s adorable – reminds me of Stupid when she was a baby…
Allergic to coffee, don’t much care for salt – how about a nice Mimosa?
You named your cat Stupid? How sweet and pathetic at the same time. Now I don’t feel so bad naming mine Stinky.
My very favorite kitty of all time, my little Holstein-marked cowcat, the endless talker and mama’s boy was named for an unfortunate birthmark. He had a black mask, white chops, and a teeny little black mark coming out of one nostril.
Booger was the best dog-in-a-catsuit I could ever hope to meet.
she was supposed to be a boy; ended up a Siamese-voiced and shaped gray & white kitty (like Picola). Was taken away from her mother early, so never learned her 8th week lessons. Ergo, Stupid.
Apparently my parents owned a dog named Dummy before I was born…
Ok I have to tell you about 2 cats I had! One came to me with the name Trash, she was found in a dumpster with her 2 kittens. a friend adopted her and named her Trash. He had to move and Trash needed a home I was asked to take care of her until he found her a Furrever home! He did mine! several weeks after Trash joined my family My ex mother in law got really sick with breathing problems and ended up in the hospital… She had to get rid of her cat (lace)a white blue eyed deaf cat. we took her in My ex started calling her a waste of a cat. Hence she became Waste! So we had Waste and Trash they both lived into there late teens!
–dorie–
I read your story on Trash & Waste, & it was beautiful. It seems you ended up being their Mama. 😀
Oh how darling! I want Picola, she’s just too sweet to not want to cuddle and wuffle and woozle and boobookitten……Just too much cute! I love it.
Aww 🙂
I love them all !
Blue is going to be a gorgous boy.. he’ll be adopted in no time at all.
Poor little morgan.. just look at his face ..
“NO, no, No! the evil flashy thingy is bad, bad i tell you! run away run away!”
Hola Intuition!
We missed you! 🙂
You’re sweet 🙂
Yep, I’ve been swamped at work lately, but Instinct has been emailing the pictures of the kittens every morning.
“K, when do I get a flashy-thingy?”
Wow! Vacation is the theme, since July 4th is coming up soon. Go see the local fireworks displays. Everyone, have a GREAT vacation, and to those who will be home, have a great week. too!!
These kitties are just too cute, little bundles of energy…hope they all get great homes.
Apparently cats took humans on as pets, not vice versa. No surprise to the TDK denizens: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/06/28/AR2007062802343.html?hpid%3Dtopnews
More scientific proof (as if any were needed) that cats only do what they want to. And they’ve trained us rather well, too!
i just finished reading the comments… a lot of folks are upset, thinking it’s an anti-cat article. Except for the “taking ear plug samples” part, I rather enjoyed reading about the superiority of cats. Others took offense at the suggestion that cats aren’t affectionate. I’m not sure that was the point of the article, but then my reading comprehension aint what it used to be. I’ve had aloof cats as well as little snuggle bunnies.
I didn’t think it was anti-cat either. One thing that many of us cat lovers like about our felines is their sense of independence, that “hard-to-get” quality. It was interesting reading about their history, because so much has been written about the domestication of dogs but not nearly as much about cats.
Liza-
We were worried about you yesterday — did you read our posts? Are you still living temporarily in a hotel room?
Jo, I did just thirty minutes ago find your comments. And I wrote a book in response — on today’s posting toward the end. Probably too long for this forum, but I didn’t want anyone worrying about me. Thanks!
Yes, Funny Face and I have 14 more days to go before we get to free her brothers from “Club Pet” and move in to temporary “permanent” quarters. Thanks for asking.
I posted below your “book,” but just had an idea that if you’re going to be travelling around — it would be fun for all of us if you post from the road and from each place you visit for a while — sort of a travelogue-with-cats.
*Grabs the orangie, and tries to sneak away unnoticed, leaving behind iced coffee, bacon, scrambled eggs, and sausage*
Follows trail of goodies…
*gulp*
*crunch*
*munch*
*chomp*
Ooohhh look! An orangie beige kitten!
*grabs kit and flees*
I’ll have to get into this kitten-snatching thing.
Instinct, how do I get my own flaming Pu-Dao? Do I have to special-order from China?
First you must snatch the pebble from my hand…..
After that you just get it through mail order and then have Pipa’s Mum help you modify it 🙂
You will also need a fire proof helmet to avoid the hair burning accidents Instinct has been having. 🙂
Oh, yes, the hair! I forgot about that…
–Order from China?–
THey’re pet killers
No, you get it from America – everything from China is cheap junk (especially martial arts stuff)
I’ll buy local. Just hope I won’t accidentally cut my own head off.
Well, if you do don’t worry p the flaming blade will cauterize the wound so you won’t bleed too much 😀
Oh, wait….
Pipa’s mum—no potaje recipe? Can you see my frowny face?
For newest photos of remaining kittens, click my name. Photos were taken last night, at suppertime.
Lovely kittens and momma cat. They are lucky to have found you.
They are beautiful. I hope you get them all to where you can pet them over the weekend. Keep up the excellent work!
Thanks! I’m hoping to monitor the blue tabby; she’s got a case of the sniffles, and only licked at her food this morning. If she doesn’t eat voluntarily tonight, I’ll wrap her up in a towel and syringe-feed her baby food (chicken or veal). The good news is she’s still behaving normally otherwise, begging Mama kitty for nursing, and I wiped the gunk from her nose this morning. I’m hoping she clears this up on her own today.
Purrrrrfect little beauties–gosh I love kittens.
Does mama let you pet her?
Yes, Mama kitty lets me pet her. She doesn’t ask to be petted, however, unless they’re out of food.
They are precious and look so content! I want the gray tabby licking his/her paw. What beautiful markings. They sure are lucky they found you.
The brown tabby has the most amazing markings! The striping turns into stripes and spots on the belly. I took a bunch of photos of that one, hoping to capture the endless stripiness of the coat, but I was unsuccessful; the pictures don’t do him/her justice.
If you’re serious about adopting this one, let me know.
Those markings are called ‘vest buttons.’ Both Mavvy and Huddy have them. Nothing cuter than the spotted belly of a tabby cat.
anncetera,
you are such a wonderful person to work so hard with the momma and kittens. The kittens are adorable. Thanks so much for keeping us posted on what and how you are doing with them.
Awwwwwwwwww…awwwwwwwwww…awwwwwwwwww.
Bless you for taking them in.
Precious kitties. They look like they’re expecting the other shoe to drop.
Haaaa!
Lots of people on vacation next week. ME TOO! Staying local, hitting the beach/lake/mountains. Should be nice.
What beautiful gaggle of kitties! Blue is just strikingly gorgeous! Look at those eyes!
Another beautiful bunch of kitties. And what a variety of colors and personalities!

http://www.foxnews.com/wires/2007Jun28/0,4670,RescuedDog,00.html
He isn’t the first to come home from the Middle East. The book From Baghdad with Love is about an officer who violated military law, fell in love with a puppy, and went through all sorts of hell to keep him alive and get him to the States. When in the worst situations animals can provide the love needed to see the soldier through the tramatic event.
I just read about him a couple of weeks ago in one of the weekly magazines. It was really touching because the dog led him to his future wife once they got stateside again. Everybody knew about the dog, but the loved him so much they all pretended he wasn’t there. I thought that was pretty cool.
OMG!!!!!! THEY R SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCUTE!!!! i like Blue the most!!!!!!! I wish my orange kitty had blue eyes!!!!!
You are doing a wonderful thing for these cats.
You are to be commended!
If they are 6 wksoldandBlue still has the blue eyes, they are for ever blue. He would’ve lost them around 2 to 3 wks. Hooray, for ever Blue!
Aaaaargh! Kitten overload!!!!
If I hadn’t just gone all weak and woozy after so many kittens this week, I would fight smellycatslaw for Jack Sparrow. But you can have him, dear
If you take a look at Daisy’s blog, the kitten pictures are at the beginning – or the end, since it’s latest-entry-first.
Daisy is one cute kitty. I love the blog!
Great blog! Daisy is a lovely cat – AND very well spoken! 😉
They are too cute! Morgan makes me a lonely for a beautiful all gray kitten I had years ago, & Jack looks just like my Kitty Hawk.
cute..over..load… *falls to the floor .. opens one eye and grabs the nearest furry kitten when nobody is looking*
😉 Sneaky, very sneaky…
Good morning, TDKers. And thanks for your caring responses yesterday. Nothing taken amiss. I’m not in trouble, but I’m in an uncomfortable position — transition — between my old life as an employee and my new life — as yet to be defined. I’ve just moved from Ukraine where I lived and worked for the past three years (concluding a 25-year career).
The defining will take place in a year-long odysseythrough North America, as I visit friends and family I couldn’t see for years, take advantage of folk and music festivals, and look for a community where i hope to live the second half of my life… I’m trying to figure out a mode of transportation where I can take my three cats with me and not consume the last reserves of gasoline this country has. I suppose that lets out winnebagos… Sorry, that’s probably too much information.
And this is for Kittenmaster — last July or August I sent you a picture of Vasya, with too much human in it. When he was a kitten just adopted off the streets of Uzbekistan, he liked riding around on my son’s hat. I called the picture — way too cute to edit, but probably inappropriate for TDK — the cat on the hat. Vasya had just died, and because he’d been an unusual cat with an unusual life, the text that I submitted with the picture probably ran to a full page length. Now that I’ve been lurking for almost a year, I realize that the most I’ve seen of a human in the postings were the legs and undies of a gentleman on the can. A masterful posting it was! In fact, that was pretty much the only time I commented before now, as I was irked by the offended sensibilities of someone in the community…
Anyway, I’ll shut up for now. Thanks again for kind words.
Liza (whose e-mail moniker happens to be a_momcat — has been for years, but I suppose that was more in reference to my three sons than my cats…)
Thanks Liza for filling us in. I’d love to take a year long trip around the U.S. too. Maybe someday.
I remember the kit in the undies. It was hysterical!
It’s sad to hear your Vasya passed on. Thanks to you and your family he had a better life. Maybe Kittenmaster can post his photo (cropped?) as a memorial. How about it Kittenmaster?
I would love to see that Cat on a Hat picture as well! How about a page on Catster?
**What Kind of Pet Would You Be?**
5 question quiz–according to the quiz, how many of you would also be a pet cat?
http://www.blogthings.com/whatkindofpetwouldyoubequiz/
Pet cat, thats me to a “T”
Yep. I’m a cat. As if there was any question.
Ah Yes, I’am a cat too, no surprise there!!
I’m a cat……..
Pet RABBIT? Horrors!
I love rabbits! I loved our rabbit growing up. She would sleep on my lap….
But the website says I don’t smell good and honest, I showered this morning!
I’m a DOG????????what went wrong?????I’m no dog!
A DOG???? Sorry but we don’t do dogs here! LOL
Well, a Great Dane IS a type of dog so…..
Hm, can’t argue that one! LOL
Perhaps it was your name?
Tinafish is a cat!!!!!
Well shockingly enough……I’m a cat 🙂
OH THE HORRORS!
You Would Be a Pet Fish
Relaxed and laid back, you prefer to sit back and observe what’s going on around you.
You are secretly very wise and intelligent, but few people take the time to learn about you.
You don’t mind if the world doesn’t understand you. You’re having enough fun trying to understand the world.
Why you would make a great pet: You’re peaceful and nice to be around, but not very demanding
Why you would make a bad pet: Let’s face it… the only person you’re truly interesting to is yourself
What you would love about being a fish: Swimming around aimlessly without a care in the world
What you would hate about being a fish: Being used as bait or food for bigger fish
me too
I’m a bird?!?!?
Instinct, NOT ONE WORD about my brain! NOT ONE!!!
oH, NEVER…. besides, laughing really isn’t a word, it’s more of a sound.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH
I’m a cat!
Just call me Dog-boy 🙂
You’re friendly, loyal, and an all around good sport. People love to be near you.
You are very open with your feelings, and you’re quite vocal in expressing them.
You are sincere and kind. You love many people – without any sort of agenda.
Why you would make a great pet: You’re content to chill out with your friends
Why you would make a bad pet: You always find yourself getting into trouble
What you would love about being a dog: Running around and playing
What you would hate about being a dog: Being left home alone while everyone else is out having fun
Me too, but I do have three, yes three, count them one, two, three little tiny poodles. Oh Lordie…How will this group ever move past that?
I’m a cat and proud of it!
A dog? A dog? I can’t believe it!
Woohoo! I belong to the elite. I am a cat!
JCL
Cat!
Have tried so many times to post but just can’t seem to be able to be fluffy. Between hospitals and funeral homes hard to see the light. Brandi Lee how is your son?
Little Lyric looks and sounds very similiar to my Rumpleteaser. She normally is very talkative. think she has picked up on the vibes around here. She has been growing a lot the past few days.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, and for those going on vacation enjoy and have the time of your life.
{{{hugs}}}
Hey Sox Mom, Being Fluffy just means not to be mean or insulting or toss around rumors and being hurtful. Problems are part of life.
If you need to talk, please post so we can help.
Daughter just had to deal with death and is a bit disturbed. A friend of hers just lost their father he was only 36. He went into the hospital the night of my 20th anniversary and 2 weeks later we were attending a funeral. It was pretty hard. It is one thing when someone has lived a life–children grown and all. It is another to have young children go through this. She is scared now. Living in fear is no place to live. If that makes sense. It is rough trying to explain. A military life can be unique and with it comes some inherant fears, but it can damage people to live in fear too long.
That is very hard, and the military makes it doubly so. The best thing I can think of is to just be there for her and her mother (if you are friends with her).
If you can help to provide some normalicy and just be there to listen, that is the best help of all. I’m sure you know that the base does have counselors that might be able to help too.
If you need it, here’s my email mwhiteATmedia-wheelDOTcom
I seem to be giving that out a lot, but it’s worth it
**{{Hugs}}** to you Sox’s Mom
Here’s a hug for you Sox’s Mom. *hugs*
Thank you so much HM!
Sox’s Mom, What happened? I haven’t even tried to keep up with all the postings lately, too many to read through. Is your mom still with us? I hope so. I’m sorry for your recent experiences, I know from experience sadly, what it is like.
*hugs* and headbonks!
Terri remember to really talk to your lawyer. It will not be a fun time but to really make a change you will have to put up with worse than what you have received so far. You will always have support here–make sure you have support in your home too. I am sure that eventually he will have to answer for his choices. Until then all my prayers are with you and you have emotional support from me.
*BIG HUGS*
Hon, being fluffy doesn’t mean being all Prozac and peaceful, it means being nice, like fluffy fur you can bury your face in. We’re here for you, luv!
Hi hon how are you? My son is busy buying all of his equipment for deployment……..this has my hair standing on end as he has no pay left over for anything else….. We will get to see him in Sep, on a week of mandatory leave……then off he goes…..sigh. I hope things are getting a little better for you, if not email me at Jinxdfairy2003 at Yahoo ok.
Hugs and headbonks to you Sox’s mom. Keep the peace.
tf
I think Instinct already summed it nicely. We are friends here – we can handle the negative feelings and incidents too. You don’t have to pretend everything is fine when it isn’t. Here are many shoulders to cry on. 🙂
awww so cute! they remind me of my cat as a kitten.i am glad to know that it is a no kill shelter
Glad to hear you’re semi-okay, Liza. We were worried about your situation, but it sounds like you’re making plans to move forward. Keep us posted and let us know if we can help.

*Cop Roasted For Pulling Over Wienermobile**
Stolen Plate Mix-Up Caused Stop
POSTED: 6:03 am PDT June 29, 2007
MADISON, Wis. — Is the hot dog a hot car? An Arizona Highway Patrol officer pulled over the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.
The trooper had run a license check on the Wienermobile’s YUMMY plates and the report came back as stolen. It seems that the plates had been swiped from the Wienermobile months ago in Missouri but had been replaced.
However, the stolen plate report was still listed in a nationwide law enforcement database.
But there’s no hard feelings. The guys in the Wienermobile handed out wiener whistles to the officers while the mess was straightened out.
The Wienermobile was on the road for a promotion in which contestants sing the Oscar Mayer jingle for a shot at appearing in a commercial and winning “American Idol” tickets.
Arizona Highway Patrol spokesman Quent Mehr said Lankow is hearing plenty about it from his buddies.
“The officer, he’s just like, ‘I don’t believe this is happening,”‘ Mehr said.
Hubby and I saw the Wieinermobile on the road once while on vacation; I think it was in the Virginia/North Carolina area. What a sight! I also saw the Batmobile at a car show last year. That was cool! I think it was built on a 66 olds chassis.
I’ve seen the Weinermobile, too, Joan, on I-95 in Florida. All you can do is burst out laughing at the sheepish grin on the driver’s face…
We have a permanent Weinermobile here in Houston. I see it all the time.
What sort of an IDIOT pulls over the Weinermobile?
You don’t tug on Superman’s cape
You don’t spit into the wind
You don’t pull the mask off the old Lone Ranger
And you don’t PULL OVER THE WEINERMOBILE.
jeeeeeeeeeeez
Hey, he had probable cause – the plate was listed as stolen.
Better to pull them over and get it straightened out than to ignore it and maybe have something bad happen
Something bad? Like what? It’s not like you can use it as a getaway car – lol.
I guess I see your point though.
Sad part is I can think of a number of ways to use it to a very bad end.
I won’t post them though, they are depressing enough just to think about much less write down
You’re right, Instinct. But I can just see the guy going home to his wife and saying, “Hey, sweetie, great day today. I busted a WEINERMOBILE!”
Read that comment and choked on my ice! That is funny!
JCL
Maybe, he was hungry?
The Wienermobile is very cool–and so is the inside!
“But there’s no hard feelings. The guys in the Wienermobile handed out wiener whistles to the officers while the mess was straightened out.”
There’s a Judge Reinhold joke in here somewhere, but I can’t quite flesh it out! 😆
**Protesting Air Controllers Wear Dresses**
Group Upset About Dress Code, Schedules
POSTED: 6:37 am PDT June 29, 2007
UPDATED: 7:04 am PDT June 29, 2007
The next time you fly, your safety could be in the hands of an air traffic controller wearing a dress — and he’s a guy.
Some controllers have been protesting a government dress code, by wearing women’s clothing to work. Union spokesman Doug Church said the controllers are showing how ridiculous the regulations are because they don’t bar men from wearing dresses. Shorts, jeans, T-shirts and halter tops are on the banned list.
The unionized controllers are also upset about changes in schedules, work breaks and pay issues.
So, is anyone involved in the iPhone frenzy?
Not me…..not interested in the least in that thing….having enough trouble getting decent cell phone service as it is! Couldn’t imagine paying that kind of money for a phone. They said it costs up to $2,000.00 activation per year for that thing…..NO THANKS!!
Too much caffeine today, LeeAnne? tee hee
Can you tell??? Didn’t sleep a wink last night, needed extra this morning to get me through the day……..
LeeAnne–if you ever get your coffee at 7-11–they have “coffee shots” that come in those little creamer packets–unsweetened and sweetened–next to the coffee machines. You can add it to your coffee or just do a “shot.” Quick dose of caffeine!
Thanks, I’ll have to look for those! Actually on top of my regular cup of java this morning, I had my little can of Starbuck’s double shot!! Wooohoooo! Got lots done today, I’ll probably crash and burn when I get home though……….weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
Not me…I like my cell phone just fine…I’ll wait for the price to come down a bit, too!
Funny you should ask. When Hubby and I got up this a.m., he turned on Fox News, which was all about the London car bomb (undetonated, for those not keeping up with the news).
After a minute of listening, I told him “Call Scotland Yard! I’ve solved the case! It was never meant to be detonated; it was a conspiracy by Motorola and Nokia to knock the release of the iPhone off the news!”
Either that, or some non-with-it terrorist has made a mortal enemy of Steve Jobs. One or the other.
Good Lord, Holmes! I think you’re right!!
Actually, for me one of those would be good because I could then have my demo reel on me as well as all my animation files, plus music (for when I’m at school) as well as a phone – all in one item.
Would save a lot of pocket space, but I will wait for a year so they can get the kinks worked out, and for my Verizon contract to expire.
Hahaha— I like Morgan the best. Since he is shy and skittish, his ears and eyes say it all: I need to go hide! ACK! I loved all the kitties this week! Kisses to all the fuzzy babies! :*
Wow!
**A buried treasure of trees**
A Washington state man who always loved to dig in the dirt unearths a petrified forest, covered by lava 15 million years ago while still upright
http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-petrifiedtrees28jun28,1,4731668.story?ctrack=1&cset=true
Hey everybody! Happy, Happy Friday! Absolute love this bunch of kits today! I’ll take Jack Sparrow please……….cute lil’ pirate that he is!
Finally went to see my pirate movie last night. I really enjoyed it, Keith Richards was a hoot to watch!! I practically had the whole theatre to myself, nice and quiet and got to enjoy my popcorn and JD in peace!!
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!
Ahhhh, but did you sit through the credits? There is a VERY important scene that they don’t show until after the credits are done!
I’ll take Jack – I love “terror kitties”…
Wow, TDK keeps getting more international all the time. I’m going to Ukraine this fall. A classmate just came back from there and was very impressed by how beautiful the country is.
tom, where in kyiv do you live? i lived on ul. Gor’kogo, between Megamarket and Vladimirskiy Rynok… my cats were miserable living on the seventh floor… but better off than the hundreds of thousands of homeless cats there…
Yay Johnston County!
Thank you so much, Kittenmaster, for a great week of multiple kittens!! It’s been so much fun to see the different kitties and attitudes in each group. Plus, it gives us that many more chances to share them around the group.
Hello, TDK’ers! Have a wonderful weekend and great vacations for those of you taking next week off!
OMG! How CUTE! Can I have just one? Please? I know Redford and Mitzi would love it!
BTW, Redford is #1 again by about 150 votes! Ends tomorrow!
http://www.arcamax.com/catsanddogs/galpic-26901
Hey Rainingwolf, Redford just got 4 extra votes from me and my 3 fuzzbutts! Go Redford Go!!
I can’t get the darn website to accept my votes! I’ll keep trying…
I had trouble, too, at first, until someone commented that you had to wait at least 24 hours to vote again. Maybe that’s the problem?
OOOhhhhhhhh. Thanks.
Hi Rainingwolf,
how are you feeling? Bob and I have been voting for Redford – what a good-looking guy!
If I were to get another kitty (one day, one day) I’d scoop Blue up in a second. BEAUTIFUL! (actually, they all are. I’d have a hard time letting any one of them go)
love the kitties
had a great day with hubby yesterday 32nd anniversery HE TOOK THE DAY OFF went into Toledo for the day and had a nice dinner FANTASIC
Happy Anniversary Kathy! Wow 32 years! I sometimes doubt my husband and I will make it to our 3rd one. Last night on my way home, hubby called and told me that he had made a dinner that I really like- encrusted blue fin tuna and grilled tomatoes and that it was waiting for me on the stove. I was very happy to eat it. Yummy! I had some Dreyers Dips (chocolate covered ice cream squares). I let hubby know by leaving him a thank you note on the small white board on the fridge. I took the garbage out (several market bags full) as a thank you back to him. He left me a thank you reply for that on the white board. These little actions go a long way in my book.
Okay..now I need breakfast…down to the little cafe for a breakfast muffin and a mocha.
TGIF!!
Congratulations Kathy and Hubby!
Congrats, Congrats! Just passed our 30th…I was married at 19.
Wow Judy! Congratulations to you too!!
Congratulations on the anniversary! Where are you in Ohio, I mean, how far from Toledo? I live in Monroe, only about 10 miles from Toledo. Where did you have dinner? Mancy’s?
we are in fayette about 40 miles west of Toledo we ate at a little sea food place on the river i don’t know the name HE made all the arrangments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what is
Mancy we are not from Ohio just move 2 years ago
I don’t know the name of the seafood place on the river right off hand, but I know it’s really good! Mancy’s is kind of an upscale restaurant in downtown Toledo. (Upscale=expensive). Have only been there once, but I was impressed.
Happy Anniversary and many more!
Congrats Kathy,
It’s my anniversay too! Ten years less than you, 22 years. Unfortunately the Hubby and I have to work this year, were going to do a late dinner and movie. I now have been married more years than I was single.
Happy Anniversary and enjoy many many more years to come!
Congrats to you too! And many many happy years together!
It makes my heart sing to see people married for over 25 years–for me it is an inspiration. Especially when you have had a great celebration. Congratulations and I wish you many more years of wedded bliss.
Congrats! Wow – 32 years!
Good morning all. First day on the new job went well. Lots of things to do. The company I am working for is actually based out of Canada. They bought a company here in California and that is now the office that I am working out of. This company seems to have a tight reins on the money so am very limited to what I can order for supplies, etc. They have me situated next to the reception desk (no receptionist as there are very little visitors). I am going to give it the 30 days and see how it goes. I am grateful to have this job and to see if it is going to work for now.
There’s a couple of departments here who are limited on supply ordering. I’m not, I can order whatever I want. That’s the beauty of working in a Sales department that’s doing well -lol.
As far as your new job goes, I sincerely hope it’s all you want it to be. Congratulations again, and keep us posted.
*hugs for Karin and Sylvester*
Thank you HM. How are you doing today? Hopefully feeling a bit better?
Wacked out of my mind on painkillers and hurting from Instinct’s wack-bonk stick.
Oh… ya big baby, I only hit you 8 or 15 times with it the other day 😀
Have you tried accupuncture to help with the pain?? My Kung Fu instructor swears by it
Accupuncture? Noooo……I dunno if I could handle that. I’m not hinky about needles, I don’t know if I could sit still that long. 🙂
Actually it’s really good, you wont feel like you’re getting an injection or anything like that. They aren’t jabbed deep into you like a doctors needle.
She used it for her Fibromyalgia (sp) and it helped with the stifness and pain, it also helped with her migraines too
Congratulations on the new job!
I have a question for all – I have a stray kitten that I have been feeding. It is quite shy – any ideas on how to tame him?
Diane, try sitting nearby while the kitten eats & offer the kitten treats. Talk to it softly and take it slow.
Thanks for the advice. I have four other cats that he seems to like, I actually got to touch his nose today while he was playing with one of them. He is so skiddish and skinny! I want to fatten him up! I would like to take him to the vet but need to be able to get closer to him.
Yes, just spend a lot of time out there when the kitten comes to eat. Over the course of time as he gets used to you, get closer4 and closer to him until you put the food down right next to you – even if he’s nervous about it, he’ll be hungry enough to try. Just take your time and down pounce on him the first few times he gets close, that’ll make him feel safe enough to keep coming. I’ve trapped a bunch of kittens and cats and that’s what i did. I didn’t like the traps, so I would just put the food in the back of a plastic cat carrier and the cats /kittens would go in there to eat and I would trap them. I got one a week while I was trapping the cats for a friend of mine. When I came back they all seemed to have forgotten that last time some kitty got locked in the carrier and would go in there anyway.
I meant to write “don’t” pounce on him the first time he gets close…..
When you feed him food, make sure the dish is at the entrance to or inside a cat carrier or trap. Make sure the door is propped open, though, and there’s no risk it’ll shut on him.
Only after he reliably goes into the carrier or trap for food, can you trap him and get him to the vet. When you plan to trap him, use some extra-enticing food. Canned cat food, fish, or roast chicken all seem to do well for bait.
Thanks for all the encouragement. I will keep you posted. Of course, my biggest fear is that I will fall in love with him.
You need to trap him. It’s for his own good. obviously without a home and in need of rescueing. If he is playing with your other cats than it shouldn’t be too traumatic for him. Good luck and please keep us posted, I’ll worry about him if you don’t.
I can try that this weekend too.
Oh my! Five more lil beauties. Love their different personalities.
Hi Susie in Ca, Bumblebee and Elene in York!
Hi Alex!
Hey Kittenmaster! You rock!
–Teresa–
Hello to you as well. Hope you have a great 4th of July!
Peace
Has anyone heard from Sheba’s mom?? Hope all went well at the vet today……………
They took blood & urine; now I have to wait until tomorrow or Monday for the results. Thank you for caring-was not able to post yesterday.
Where has Ivory Bill been? And Caddycat? And hello to Kathy in Va and Cathi in NC!
You know, Dee, that kind of brings up a subject that’s not very fuzzy, but if anything tragic happened to a regular poster — how would we know? Suppose we never heard from you — Dee — again. It was fortunate that Jerry’s girlfriend informed everyone about his passing, but how often would that happen?
Maybe it’s a good idea to leave a sticky note on our computers to let loved ones know the addresses of blogs we frequently visit, and to let them know if anything happens. Of course, a savvy loved one could search our internet history, but how many people would bother to do that?
I have a daily pen pal, and I’ve give his name and address to my brother, so that if anything happens to me, my pen pal would know.
Somethig to think about…..
I’ve been wondering about Ivory Bill, too. He was posting when I first came on and I always looked forward to his poems.
Come back, Ivory Bill!!!
I’ve been wondering the same thing about Bill, and where is meezermama? She’s been absent too for a few days.
Hey guys, stop lurking and say howdie!
Meezermama is on vacation this week. You’ll probably see her on Monday or Tuesday
MeezerMama said , she was going on vacation last Friday to Eureka Springs, for how long, I don’t know.
Ivory Bill, I miss your kitty ditties. I hope all is well with you and yours.
That’s a good idea, Jo. I’ve never thought of that. And your commenting that “suppose we never heard from you again”—you don’t have a hit out on me, do you?! haha!
Not yet. Used to live in Tampa, by the way. My former husband and I were living in a beach house on Siesta Key when we inherited a quaint carriage house in old Forest Hills. It needed a lot of upgrading, so we moved into it for a year to fix it up and sell it. My favorite thing about Tampa? Why, the Tampa Pitcher Show, of course.
I think you raise an important point, Jo. Silence can mean that someone is temporarily without a computer or experiencing some traumatic issues or serious illness or death. I know that the TDK community stands ready to support members if this family in any way we can, but we need a way to check on folks who go silent.
Kitten Master: Would you be willing to e-mail Ivory Bill and other recently silent TDKers to ask if everything is OK? If it is too much work to keep track of maybe an automated e-mail could go out if someone hasn’t posted in a week or two? Is this too intrusive??
KM, I second KW’s request. I agree that it would be a good thing to check on the people that we care about.
Just because of what has happened around here the past few weeks I have not had the energy to post. I have tried to at least read posts, but some times when a personal tragedy strikes it is hard to post. I have to admit I am worried about Ivory Bill. It seems like too long of an absence. There could be a million reasons why he hasn’t posted, but I pray there is a way to find out that someone who has become a special person to so many is okay.
I’ve been wondering about too – both about Ivory Bill (where are you?) and how cyber friends can be alerted when something serious happens. You have a good idea – we should make sure that we have some way to make sure that family or friends know that there are folks out there who would like to know – just in case!
HELLO, Dee! How are you? I’ve been great! I read through the comments everyday and I’m touched when you send me a “shout out”! You are so sweet.
Hi Brandi! Max and Gali say hi! Hope everything is good in MD. Email me or call me when you find the time, hon.
I just started working on an overtime project at work and will be working 55 -60 hours a week for the next 2 and 1/2 years to 3 years. I’ve been a bit tired, but the money will be sooooo good. No more P/T job! Woo Hoo!
The kittens this week have been fabulous! I loved the theme. Thank you Kittenmaster!
This was something, eh?

HELLO TDK family!
FYI– I will be going on vaccation for about 10 days, and will be with out computer. Will someone volunteer to collect recipes and email them to me? Please?
MerD-
I’m happy to help, but I would understand if you might prefer to assign this to someone you know better than me. If you don’t have any problem with my being a fairly new poster, and you didn’t have anyone else in mind, I’ll volunteer. ~Jo
Great, you have the email address correct?
No, I’ll need your email address and some brief instructions. I’m assuming you want all recipes, beverage and food, and who submitted them. Right? Need anything else?
Why don’t you email me at: myofficegourmetATyahoodotcom.
These babies are just too adorable… Jack Sparrow is a beauty. Of course i am partial to the name… Hooked on the Pirates Series.
BTW, Hello TDKer’s. I have been away way to long!!!!!!
“Hey-y-y-y. We’re supposed to be singing about pirate-y things!” 😎
We are!!! Well then….
*singing with a mug of grog*
We are the Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything!
We just stay home and lie around.
And if you ask us to do anything, we’ll just tell you …”
We don’t do anything!
Well, I’ve never been Greenland
and I’ve never been to Denver,
and I’ve never buried treasure in St. Louis or St. Paul,
and I’ve never been to Moscow and I’ve never been to Tampa, and I’ve never been to Boston in the fall.”
Yo ho Yo ho
A pirates life for me!
Gotta love the veggie tales!
Hmm…lived in Denver and Tampa, visited Boston and St. Louis (first time I ever dealt with culture shock), layover in Minneapolis/St. Paul.
Never visited Greenland or Moscow, though–not even Moscow, Idaho (would need shades to look at that bright blue football field!)
Oh, well…
Well I’ve never plucked a rooster
And I’m not too good at ping pong
And I’ve never thrown my mashed potatoes up against the wall
And I’ve never kissed a chipmunk
And I’ve never gotten head lice
And I’ve never been to Boston in the fall
**3 Moose Saunter Around Resort While Golfers Keep Their Distance**
POSTED: 10:09 am PDT June 29, 2007
CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A Wyoming golf course had more hazards this week than the usual sand traps, ponds and deep rough — moose.
The three young moose ambled around the first three holes, took a dip in a pond, got a drink, then rested Thursday at the Little America Hotel and Resort, according to Eric Fedell, the resort’s grounds and golf manager.
Crews rerouted golfers around the moose, which rarely are seen so far east in Wyoming. Game and Fish Department workers later tranquilized the animals and shipped them to the Snowy Range, about 100 miles west of town.
They probably came from the Pole Mountain area more than 20 miles west of Cheyenne, Game and Fish spokesman Eric Keszler said.
“There is a moose population there, and it’s been growing,” he said.
Resort officials said they worried that the moose could wander onto nearby Interstate 80.
“We’ve never experienced anything like that before. We have a lot rabbit and geese, but no moose,” resort spokeswoman Sue Clark said.
“Cow pasture pool,
Learnin’ all the rules:
Red stick’s hazard; white stick’s out of bounds.
I’ll be hittin’ five,
A-hollerin’ “fore,”
Writin’ “three” down for my score…
Man, I really love this game of golf!”

I can honestly say that I have never encountered a moose on any golf course I’ve ever played.
In fact, I have never encountered a moose anywhere that I’ve ever been.
And now for something completely different — I’m hungry — and I’m in the mood for some really good Italian food! Anyone care to join me?
Mmmm…. pasta….mmmm……gelato!
Hi Everyone!
Hi KM!
Hi Alex!
Not much time to spend here today. Another wonderful, cute bunch of sweet little furr balls! They look like they are a real handful – especially little Jack Sparrow!
It looks like everyone is going to be on vacation next week! Have a great time! And for the rest of you, have a great weekend!
Quick, pass me some kittens I NEED a cuddle. I have just come home from my daughter’s speech day – she has finished school for ever. She’s so grown up now. I feel old. Need kittie, need chocolate, need wine ……
Mind you I felt so proud of her, she sang at the prize winners’ concert O zittre nicht mein lieber Sohn from The Magic Flute, and she was stunningly good. The she sang a duet with one of her friends “Good” from Wicked – again fantastic. You may all be hearing of her one day in the future!
Sounds wonderful. You have good reason to be proud. And why feel old? Age is a state of mind.
Congratulations on the graduation of your daughter! Please keep us up to date on her post-graduate accomplishments! As for the empty nest….wine does help…I speak from experience! LOL!
Polly’s Mum in UK,
you should feel proud!! Here’s chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of pindar wine all grown and made here on Long Island. And as for feeling old!!! My 2nd child will be 25 tomorrow. and my 3rd and younest will be 12 on Tuesday!! Do I feel old? NO!! Growing old is maditory growing up is optional!!
Congrats to you and your daughter
peace and purrs
Dorie
How wonderful – I can understand how proud you must be!
*Clinks glasses of champagne*
Does she have any plans yet for what she wants to do next? Or is she just enjoying the moment for now?
Congrats!
the TDK is guilty of littering! Litter after litter after litter! Wait… Whats this sign say? FINE FOR LITTERING? OH, I guess littering is OK…At least here…:)
Very clever Greycat! Hahahahahahahhaa
A BIG LOL! 😀
Since everybody is gone now I can swoop them all! 😀 They are so beautiful and fuzzy – all different. I wouldn’t be able to take just one.
Yep, littering is just fine!
Our spay clinic in Tupelo is called No Littering. It used to be Spay Inc. but I have to say that I like the name of No Littering.
That is so funny!
JCL
Grrreat name!
When I lived in Tennessee, I used to travel the Natchez Trace quite often. It was a straight shot from south of Nashville all the way to Natchez, Mississppi. From there, I would drive through central Louisiana on my way back to Lake Charles.
I did this until they raised the speed limit on the Interstate highways to seventy miles per hour. I drove one hundred miles farther, but I saved two hours on the freeway.
I haven’t driven through Tupelo in quite a while, but it appeared to be a nice place to visitd!!
Adorable! I want Blue!
my kitty needs company!
just realized – Lyric and Jack Sparrow look a lot like our Remy, who also arrived with us from Knightdale. Hmm….
Remy, huh. Alix, you’ve jumped on the Ratatouille bandwagon ahead of the crowd, n’est-ce-pas?
BTW: The Wall St. Journal has a GLOWING review of Pixar’s latest. They and “Plugged In” from Focus on the Family are the only movie reviewiers whose opinions I accept at face value.
I now go by the stance that if Pixar made it then it is:
1) A very good movie and
2) something that I can take my niece and nephew to without needing to see it first to make sure it’s OK
Sorry, but I have to do it:
“That’s Captain Jack Sparrow!”
Oops, sorry… Well, if he grows up to be as big as my Remy, he’ll command instant respect, anyhow!
Yeah, It’s almost quitting time for the day! The prides have been adorable all week! I need a kitten to cuddle, I just discovered my 17 year old daughter has a tatoo. It could be worse I guess, it is a peace symbol below the bikini line…….Give me the strength not to pull the mama cat, alpha cat in the house, fit. I hate when the fur flies between us. While no one is looking tonight I am going to swipe all of the kittens to take home with me.
Will you please leave me the blue eyed orangie??? Pleassssssssssssse.
I’ll let you have him later. I must squeeze that cutie pie until he squeeks and snorgle the belly and kiss the ears. I am partical to orangies myself and this one is too adorable. My only orange kitty was named Trouble and he was with me way too short……..
Tinafish, check your local laws. It may have been illegal for the artist to give your daughter a tattoo without your consent (17 is a gray zone–legal adult in some places, minor in others). If she’s still considered a minor in Tupelo, have you hissy fit all over the parlor and tatooist! Meanwhile, grab hold of one of the lap kitties. You really don’t want to wrestle a skitty kitty now. Purrs and headbonks to you.
UH OH! Well, as you say, it could be worse! My hubby’s son came home with a lip ring when he was 17! His mum was definitely not well pleased, but not much to do about it after the fact! The good news is that he hasn’t worn the lip ring for a few years now, so the piercing has probably grown shut. Unfortunately, a tatoo won’t go away – but at least it is not on view!
what I meant to say was partial but my mental mind got in the way of my physical mind and well, you see what happens……30 more minutes!!!!!!!
I think the coast is clear, not much posting going on now, looks around, sees all of the kits, come on little babies. I have a nice big backpack filled with toys and nipper. The bike ride home will be pleasant, a little warm but pleasant non the less. Don’t wiggle so much, come on there is plenty of room and plenty of treats. Everyone is at home awaiting your arrival for fun and games.
Buwahhhhbuwahhhhhha
Stop!! Thief!!!
LOL!!! HM, you crack me up all the time…. I love it!!!
Afternoon one and all, love this passel of kittens, especially Blue and Captain Jack Sparrow!
Reading all the entries just now, it does make one laugh and all the horde just kinda looks at me with these strange little eyes. They just know that Mom is over the edge, laughing, carrying on about some ‘bonk’ stick, cute kittens (other than us of course) and things that don’t concern them except are you going to feed us since you are semi-awake??? But what do they know, if they would learn how to read, get jobs, then we wouldn’t have these issues, sigh.
The idea of sticky notes with common websites and/or blog type sites is a good idea. We are family as much as blood families and it would be nice to know if something happened to any of us. Well must be going into the kitchen area, since I have two sitting here with their little paws out like ‘alms for the hungry, please feed us stares/meows’ and why else would I have woken up if not to feed them. Yep, silly person that I am, everyone have a wonderful afternoon/evening and Ciao for now. Keeping It Fluffy for today…
Oops, I intended to post this at the bottom but I got it mixed up in the HR issues.
Again: I’ve misplaced the email address where you click to feed the shelter animals. Can someone post it again, please?
I think its http://www.animalrescuesite.com or http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com
You can sign up for email reminders to click every day.

Cuties! All those paws , eyes and, ears! Cuddles to them! 🙂
Another batch of naughtiness!
And the black babies look just like my handful of 10month old fuzz Yuri.
WWWHHHEEEE! I made it home safely with the passel of pussies. They are running everywhere, fluffed up, shaking, rattling, and rolling in the land of Elvis.
Kitten Master, I hope all is well with you in London town. Take care of yourself and always keep an open to the things around you.
Peace,
Tinafish
While you were talking to KM I swiped all the kitties, leapt on my motorbike and brought them home with me in my back-pack – and no Instinct to wield a wack-bonk stick.
*Whack*
We never sleep….
*brings kittens back for everyone to enjoy*
Instinct, I never realized you were a Pinkerton man!
You learn something new every day…
Even have my Sam Spade hat too 😀
Alright, I’ll share. Here, I’ll just keep one to cuddle *hands back all except Blue* and I’ll offer a nice chilled Sauvignon blanc from the Loire to atone for stealing them in the first place. I also have fresh strawberries and clotted cream ….
M-m-m-m-m! Before the strawberries and cream, what’s for dinner? Can you send some Bangers and Mash or Bubble and Squeak my way? If not, I’ll settle for a Cornish pasty (notice I spelled it correctly)!
But no Steak and Kidney Pie please. Last time I had one it was as apealing as chewing on a rubber bone 🙁
‘Pirates’ fan, huh?!?! I am too, so I’m not making fun! Awesome names for awesome looking adorable kittens!
What What What happened? I can’t find the kits, oh nooooo! Wait, what is that I see, a tail light from a motorbike with UK plates. What the H@%*! Oh, Polly’s mom, I have all kinds of delictable southern sweets and cocktails. (Trying to lure Polly’s Mum back to Mississippi) I’ll take you to the birthplace of Elvis museum, the automobile museum, and the GumTree Museum of Art. We’ll have fun and so will the kittens.
Ciao for now
tf
See above, I’m sharing now. (Too tired to fight Instinct)
I’ll just take Blue and stagger off to bed.
Two hours to go for me. The CEO, SVP of Sales have gone for the day and one on vacation already. Busy day today…made me feel better-more utilized. Still lots to work on and learn.
Really thinking of getting another kitty so Sylvester isn’t lonely when I am at work (hubby is in and out at times as he works from home and I am the main person to give Sylvester attention).
Have a good weekend everyone.
Yay, Karin! Doesn’t it feel great for Friday to mean something again?
Enjoy your weekend, TDK littermates! I’m back in Houston (Klein Forest) early Sun. am for a post-season championship swim meet for Ladybug. She did well in the mid-season champs. She’s gearing up for the TAAF (TX Amateur Athletic Foundation) meet in mid July. If she does well enough, she’ll earn a place in the Games of Texas meet at the end of July. The best swimmers there go to Nationals. A 9-yr-old boy from our team made it to nationals last year, and Ladybug wants a piece of that action, especially after having last season snatched out from under her.
To our littermates from “our fine neighbor to the north” (to quote the inimitable G. Gordon Liddy): Happy Canada Day on Sunday! That means Stampede is just a Friday away!
Ginny-
I had a cat I named G. Gordon Kitty! Called him Gordon.
They are all so sweet and beautiful! ‘Cuteness Overload’ is a wonderful thing. 🙂 The Lord bless you for fostering them and bless them for just ‘being who they are.’
What a great kittie week this has been
Thank you KM. It’s been lots of fun.
Hi TDKers!
Happy vacations and anniversaries to all who are going or doing.
Does that mean next week I a chance to get the kitties to MYSELF!!!
Yea!!!
There may even be leftover breakfasts by the time I get here (4pm by my clock).
In the meantime, I’ll just cuddle today’s babies, and sneak one or two back with me.
Have a great weekend, or a great week, whichever fits.
Awww! They’re so pretty! 😀
Hello TDKers, Km and Alex
It’s an awful night here at work.. I’m working 3-11 these next seven days… so I thought I would come see me some pretty furr babies and maybe put a smile on my face. …YEP, did the trick! You can sure tell she named that little Jack Sparrow correctly 🙂 He looks like a little devish kitten. Doesn’t even want to be held for the picture. LOL! I haven’t done any reading to catch up yet today, but hopefully I can get started soon and then finish up after I get home.
I hope eveyone had a good day today and also has one tomorrow. I know this is late night already for some of you, but just wanted to stick my head in and say Boo. Y’all take care and make sure the kitties are all tucked in and snuggeled up, as if that were a problem with this group. haha. Take care and I’ll drink one for all of y’all when I get home.
Did they come from the same Litter? Cuz if they did what breed are they?? ?-o
?-)
This has been a great week of lots of Kitties!
They have all been real sweeties.
aaaaaaaaaah so cute too bad my bf is freked by cats i would take 1
If my bf refused my cats, out would go the bf.
If I where you, I’d probably try and make your bf like cats. Start out with a cat doll.
Evening all, on my way to work and its only my Wednesday, sigh. Wish that the week went faster, but then again I don’t since the end-of-year holidays creep up on me every year. Hope everyone has a nice weekend, well those who actually have their weekends on Sat/Sun, and enjoy kittens (even the full grown ones) here and at home. For those we haven’t heard from in awhile, hope that everything is going well with you. Ciao for now, remember Keep It Fluffy ;D
These guys are soooo cute!!! I love JACK he is sooooo cute and he looks soooo naughty!!
These guys are soooo cute!!! I love JACK he is sooooo cute and he looks soooo naughty!!
It’s early Saturday morning, and I’ve just noticed Redford has fallen behind a little — more important than ever to place your 5 votes, as today is the last day. We can do this!
YAY – Redford is back in the lead, but only just! Keep voting! (Hint – if you have more than one computer in the house, you can vote 5 times from each one!) 😉
bless you for fostering 🙂 they are all adorable!!!
you have a very adorable foster litter!
Oh they’re adopted…
I really appreciate you socializing these kitties. I think it’s wonderful your compassion will help these lovely kitties eventually find a good home. Peace.
Hello all…thank you sooo much for your comments…I was so excited to see my fosters make it! Thx KM!
To answer a few ?’s…yes they are from the same litter, Blue’s eyes started changing this week (now aqua). And I would like to keep all of them as well BUT…then I wouldn’t be able to keep fostering!!
thanks again everyone. THIS MADE MY WEEK
I have a tuxedo cat named Jack Sparrow! For the same reason as well – he was absolutely naughty as a kitten, and still is.
Hi! I can’t believe how much “Picola” looks like my kitty! I have been trying to figure out what breed he is, but have not been able to. I have also looked around for similar cats, but I noticed this type of color combination is not too common. Do you have more pictures of her? If so, you may e-mail them to me – I’d be glad to send you some of my “Pagliaccetto” too! (name means “little clown” in Italian!)
interesting how we both named them in Italian…send me your email address and I’ll send the other pics of Picola directly to you…deena@us.ibm.com thx!
what adorable kitties…. and to name the black one JACK SPARROW !
I have grown cats that I rescured from the neighbors leaving behind because their new places would not accept pets…. Freddie is orange & white with green eyes…. I think a short haired marina…
Greystone is part blue-russian and simese with the simese meow with green eyes…and he bosses…. enjoy them while they are young; I’ve had Freddie for 12 years now, but, he was already 3 years old….GS was 1 1/2 years old when HE adopted me one Christmas 6 years ago….. T
