Hello Scarlett! or should I call you Miss O’Hara!!!!!
What a sweetheart π
I think she looks like a kitten, and a very cute one too. Scarlett is a beautiful Tortie and I hope you have many years to enjoy her.
Good Morning all—-Happy Saturday
Torties are my all-time favorite cat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cute! but she looks ticked off about something?
To me, she looks “I’m gorgeous and we all know it. Your homage is acceptable but add more groveling.”
Hi, Alex!
Ooh Scarlett, what a delightlful little saucepot you are!
As God is her witness she shall never go hungry again !!! π
Have you heard from your son? I have thought a lot about him; truth be told I think about all service members that protect and serve. I hope the time goes quickly, and he returns safely.
He is home right now, thursday was his 21st birthday……..He leaves tomorrow for kentucky then off to Iraq…………….thanks for asking that was really kind π
Brandi, I know this weekend is going to be very bitter sweet for you. I will be thinking about you tomorrow. I know that all of us here on TDK will be praying for his safe return.
All best wishes for a good deployment and safe return in body and mind.
Good luck with everything, Brandi! And thank your wonderful son for his service to our country.
Prayers for his safety, and a big THANK YOU to him and you for his sacrifice.
May God bless him and protect him, Brandi. Tell him thank you from my family and friends! We’re praying for his safe return to your family!
I too wish for his safe return to home. Have a wonderful weekend together!
Hi mom having an ok day. How are you?
I pray for the safe return of your son
What a beautiful tortie girl! She is brave too, she valiantly defies the hideous camera monster.
Hi Alex! π
Frankly Miss Scarlett I do give a dang! You are sooo precious…hugs to you and to your humanbeans.
Happy Saturday everyone! Mimosas for everyone… π
Good morning Alex.
MMMMM Mimosas
A Poinsettia for me please! (cranberry juice instead of orange)
Scarlett is a little darling! I was actually considering a kitten…I have wanted one for a long time but because I don’t want to upset the queen of the house I never thought any further than holding them at the pet store. THEN…I took CJ for her vet visit and they did blood tests and it looks like she may be diabetic. ARGH! They are running another blood test in two weeks and I will know for sure then. If the test is positive I will NOT be getting a kitten. CJ will have to be enough…at least until we readjust and deal with the diabetes.
Oh, thanks! Wow, mimosas and a beautiful day. π
Hello TDKr’s – Scarlett is adorable, she looks like she’s very loveable. Classy name for a classy-looking kitty.
Hi Alex! I hope you are enjoying your Saturday. Isn’t Scarlett beautiful. She looks so cuddly. If you look up the name Scarlett, other than the character of Scarlett O’Hara, and, of course, this beautiful kitten here today, there is another famous Scarlett – Scarlett The Cat! Scarlett is a very brave mommy who risked her own life and health by carrying each of her five kittens to safety from a burning building in New York about ten years ago. She went into a burning building five times! Then some caring firefighters and rescue workers helped her.
I hadn’t heard that wonderful story. Just picturing Scarlett being such a good mother and a happy ending makes my heart glad. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Alex!! π
Joan, what a wonderful story. I hadn’t heard it before, I think I’ll google it. Thank you. π
That is my favorite cat story! Here is a brief recap of that event…
http://www.cnn.com/US/9606/28/scarlett.day/index.html
Thank you Dee! π
Being originally from NY, I remember that story—she suffered burns but was OK and was adopted. Hundreds of people wanted to have her.
I remember that news item! Such a heart warming story!
Thanks for posting that! What a happy ending! It brought tears and a smile on my face. You guys have made me laugh and cry numerous times which actually makes me happy – it proves I’m not numb yet.
She already has a look of catly wisdom about her–I’m sure her humans are wrapped about her paws already. Instinct, Molly got a good laugh out of your comment that I tell her who is boss–she already knows.
Hi Alex! Yeah, I’m kittenapping Scarlett for the day. She needs to visit the South since she has a southern name. “I’ll worry about that tomorrow, tomorrow is yet another day”.
OK, you’ve had her for several hours now. It is time to confiscate her. *flees with a pretty tortie*
I love Elvis. Are you from Memphis or Tupelo?
Scarlett may have the name of a nice Southern Belle, but that belies the Irish temper attitude she is showing….beautiful little girl you got there…. π
OOPS….almost forgot…..happy weekend everyone….and HI ALEX….shouldn’t be long now until you’re out of school….I know you can’t answer, but am wondering what plans you have for the summer…hope whatever they are you enjoy your time off…
Ambulance crew member describes saving a cat. What good people!
http://randomreality.blogware.com/blog/_archives/2007/5/16/2955025.html
Ann, that was so awesome on two counts-first that a service for humans lent a hand to save a cat and second, that all the people who replied-even noncat lovers- praised their rescue and I guess a third was with no profanity! Thanks for a great story.
We’re still enjoying your travel photos!
How inspiring! Very uplifting–thanks for sharing that, Ann!
The story that Ann posted is a good reminder to have a pet rescue sticker on your front door/window–ASPCA offers them free of charge…
http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer?pagename=pets_rescuesticker
That’s great! They deserve praise for a sensible and humane deed.
She’s an All Saints Day kitten!
Elene, any word on the himmy?
Dee, we have a roomba. It passed through three daughters and we just got it back. wonderful device and it’s programmable. The newer models plug themselves back in to the charger or wash the floor.
I just read yesterday’s postings and told my daughter about Nux Vomica because one of her babies has kidney disease and we’re on a countdown for his lifespan. She replied that it’s strychnine!
The hubby is headed to Denver right now to bring home Miss Kitty and Bo and Smidgeon have totally settled in after 5 weeks here. By day’s end we’ll have a kitty 6 pack! Guess it will be a Miller moment.
Morning alex!
Kate the Grate, how’s your little fella doing?
Poor Miss Kitty for being in foster care for so long! Yay for you to give her a good home!
Thank you, but we aren’t the heroes in this story. Her ‘tween mommy is. Originally found back East her mommy rescued her, got her all fixed up and when it came time to move to Colorado for vet tech school she took her along rather than just put her on the street or adopt her to people she wasn’t sure about. After being offered money to sell her for experimentation her mommy put a steep adoption price on her to combat this. And they both provided her with lots of love and took a lot of time getting to know us before agreeing to talk to us. And we had to promise to keep them up to date and give her back if it doesn’t work out. So she’s going from one happy home to another. So my vote goes to her savior mom for taking such care with her to begin with and I will always be grateful to have found such a beauty to love.
Thanks, Sharon–I’ve been wondering how well Roomba’s actually work—and if the Roomba and my cats will become mortal enemies!
ok if you guys are still there what’s a roomba?
Talk about catatude. She’s pretty & she knows it. Sounds like a couple of my old girlfriends.
Chester–a Roomba is a a little “robot vacuum”–there is a Scooba also—it washes floors—click on link for pics…
http://store.irobot.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=2501652&cp=2174940
Dee, as one comic put it- What separates us from the animals is WE aren’t afraid of vacuum cleaners!
So true!
–It depends on the gender.lol. Everytime I turn the vaccum cleaner on here,my old man runs likes he’s never run before. It must be a MAN thing. π
That ain’t nice One of my jobs here & when I was married was vacuming. As he goes into a corner to sulk.
To be honest I must say I’ve seen a few brave men who’ve tamed the beast. Most of them DO fear the vacuum more than a rabid dog.
Thank you miu. Sorry chester.I guess I could have worded it better. But I have to say,in my 53 yrs. I known only two men that knew what a vaccuum cleaner was,let alone, know how to use it.
Dee –
My cat is very curious about the Roomba whenever I run it, but doesn’t seem frightened at all.
I know it is early to get off cute Scarlett topic, but need to talk a minute about my poor stray Himalayan.
Just never know when he will show up. Today, for the first time, he came at 9:00 AM. Has never before shown up before late afternoon. The food that was out there from 7:00 was still mostly full and he ate every drop and licked the empty bowl afterwards. He then drank water, but not excessively like he has been. After he finished he actually stretched while he licked his chops. I had to hide behind the curtain, because he kept an eye on my window, but I did manage to really look him over. The eye doesn’t look infected, but it was either gone or so damaged that eye area is very dark. Where I said the hair was loose, still is. The very thick fur is pulled back from the across the shoulder area about 1/4 way down his back and sides, kind of like a sweater coming off. Where I saw raw red skin last week, it looks like new hair is starting to grow in. He still walked slow as he left, but I think he is feeling somewhat better.
Since he ate this morning, I’m not sure he will be back today, but I am now going to try the trap again. Maybe if he is feeling better he will be more interested in food on a regular basis and take the bait.
Just needed to share, now I really need to get busy on my very long to-do list and of course play with the four baby kittens. Thank you for letting me talk.
Thank you for taking care of him and the other ferals PLUS your own cats!!!
I hope I/we don’t put too much pressure on you for that Himmy. I know you already do much more for kitties than most people and even most cat lovers do.
It’s great to know he’s recovering. If only he would let you catch him…
Bless you, sweetie!
Elene–beautiful news–there may be a kitty God after all. I’ve got 4 kittens myself. ‘Runt’ is going stir-crazy wanting out away from them. it’s taking all i have to keep from letting her out. It’s too risky tho. Last time, her bro that got her pregnant last time tried to lure her away. So now she has to stay in cage. I have a feral similar to Himmy. It’s his back paw. Some days it looks like it was caught in a shredder. It’s hard to not think about them all day. The fact that he’s showing earlier,& has a full belly does make you feel alittle better I hope? Your doing good. Have a nice day π
Hi Alex…Maybe if you ask your dad to sit w/you,he’ll let you post so we all know your doing okay? π
I feed feral too..managed to catch a momma & get her “fixed” so she wouldn’t have any more kittens…Everytime I saw her she was having more & the neigbors all have some of hers. She was put back out to run as she was so very wild, but I put out food & I know, even tho she is a good hunter, she is eating if hunting is not available. I applaude you for helping him even tho they don’t trust like pets do, not their fault is my opinion. Use can real Tuna & you will have better luck catching him than with cat food. Good luck, hope you’re able to get him so he can be checked out..por baby..I always feel so bad for them…sorry to ramble….
Nothing to be sorry for! On the contrary, kudos to you for helping ferals.
Elene, that’s wonderful! It seems like a miracle he’s made it this far. Best of luck, continued prayers that you be able to get him. Please keep us posted!
Well he is back and you said he is improving and this has to be a blessing for you. You have worried over him for so long. He is very lucky he crossed your path or the worst might have happened. Thank you for loving him and giving him a chance to survive. Please give updates–I think he will thrive under your constant care!
Glad he is doing better–hope the trap works!
Elene–that is great news–making progress–and he is eating. Blessings to you both.
I’ve kind of been out of it for a while with my own problems but thank you for taking care of this kitty. Almost every cat I owned was a stray that showed up & made themselves at home. Had a neighbor who bought 3 cats for barn cats. He just opened the door & threw them in the barn figuring they would use the mice as food. Needless to say they all showed up on my doorstep. I asked around & found out who they belonged to & when he came to pick them up he put them in a cage & hauled them off. My wife at the time was beside herself for the way he treated them. I’m like don’t worry they’ll be back. Sure enough the next day they were back & I kept one whose name became orange & found homes for the others. But I lived in the woods & every stray in the area came to my house. Either found homes for them or kept them.
See, Chester? Cats are discriminating creatures and like water seeks its own level cats seek out cat people to take care of them — or to take care of…not sure which sometimes.
Now that is the truth!
Good for you for taking care of the poor guy and for caring.
Great news about the Himmy, Elene. There is reason to hope!
Beautiful little tortie.

–Can someone tell me what I’m doing wrong here. I can’t get two seperate comments in two seperate lines. When i click’Add Comment’ they all end up in the same paragraphs. Any help would be deeply appreciated π
Are you adding a new comment or clicking on reply to this comment?
–Sox’s Mom–After I type one comment I use the spacer bar until I get it down lower, but the second messege ends up immediately right after when I hit the Add Comment. It seems after I logged off & then back on,my last messege moved down on it’s own. Don’t understand that part of it yet. I know eventually, the bits & pieces I’m learning will fall together & make sense to me,but for now,it’s practice & hope I don’t mess up the computer.
Use the ‘return’ or ‘enter’ key when you finish a sentence and want the next one to start lower down the page.
Thank You Kittenmaster π
–Scarlett is most pretty–
–Hadley in NC– Didn’t get to read your post yesterday. When I laid down for a moment, the kitties purring must’ve put to sleep. It works everytime. About that distilled water thing? I wonder why more people don’t buy distilled? Maybe they’re niave to the fact as well as I was? Not sure.:?:
Thanks, susie in california. I had read about
distilled water being better for cats while reading
articles on Health Of Cats on the intenet.
When my female Siamese cat began having
trouble urinating, I took her to the vet. who
said that an MRI would tell what was the
trouble; however, it would be expensive,
about $700.00. I said that when it comes
to the health and well-being of my cat, that
money was of no concern to me. The MRI
showed a few small crystals in the bladder;
but was not enough for an operation. I
got a medicine that I give my cat – two drops
once a week. My vet said that urinary tract
infection is much more serious in male cats
than females. My other Siamese cat is a male
so I give him and my female Persian distilled
water, also. My vet. agreed that distilled water
would help to keep crystals from forming in
the bladder. I bought 10 gallons of distilled
water yesterday which cost only $6.40 plus
13 cents sales tax at Wal-Mart. As I said in
an earlier message, I stopped giving my cats
any form of fish including tuna which my
female Siamese cat loves. Fish may not
bother some cats; however, I am not taking
any chances.
Hadley in N.C>….I am very curious why the Vet recommended an MRI for your kitty. Was it because the blood work did not show conclusive evidence of any presence of crystals??? Asking because I’ve gone through alot of testing with one male and a female this last week. Everything from armpits down was tested by xray and blood work only. Just surprised your kitty had to have a MRI for a urinary problem. That procedure has never been mentioned to me for that malady or any others. Basically just wondering……..Want to be informed of the latest.
u need to make your face on the next line, but u got the right text.
β
–Thanks Elaine–Slowly I learn, step by step, inch by inch, but, from lots of good people. The stooges would be proud. yuk, yuk, yuk.
Scarlett is a pretty kitty. She looks like she has “tortie-tude” already! π
HI Alex,
Yesterday was my daughters 12th birthday, I let her read the posts to her (thanx everyone). She was elated. TOday I am making her a turkey and stuffing dinner, because thats what she wants…. ;p Right now she is playing soccer, even though she is still kinda sick with bronchitis. Go figure….
Love todays kitty! She looks like the perfect southern belle, all proper and such.
Happy Saturday!
Glad she is having a special day–happy belated birthday. The fresh are might be good. Prayers she gets the bronchitis kicked quickly–susmmer vacation is almost here!
What a yummy birthday dinner. Happy belated to her…
MerceDes, very happy 12th birthday to your daughter! What did she get for presents besides the 6 flags trip? Didn’t she try to visit us the other day saying she was K? Tell her to get well soon.
It was her the other day. π
Her eyes say it all. Attitude plus looks !
just love the torties, what a pretty baby. I also read about Nux Vomica, true it is strychnine, but the blood thinner my mom take is also rat poison, so some things have many uses and dose is very important.
Glad to here the injured feral is haning in there maybe just a lttle more time and you will be able to help him more, my vet has given my powdered antibiotics to mix in canned food for injured feral that i couldnt catch it is hard to tell how much they get but the amoxicillian he gave me is fairly safe to use.
Athena, thank you for that info. Well, the hubby and Miss Kitty just landed. Time to roll out the welcome mat. Have a good weekend, everyone!
we will be waiting for updates and would love to see some new pics

Scarlett, can I take your picture? Well, I guess but please hurry up. LOL
What a cute kitty! Have a great day everyone! π
Scarlett the Scorpio? You’re in trouble now, LOL! (I’m a Scorpio, I know what I’m talking about.) I love this tortie, she really does look like an old soul!
and Scorpions hold grudges! (“How dare they feed me this food that has no seafood in it!”). If she’s like me, she remembers any wrong that has ever been done to her. Maybe other Scorpions can attest to this. Oh, we’re also very passionate people, too! If this is true of cats, I hope beautiful Scarlett gets fixed soon! π
With those looks, Reminds scarlett johansson π
Torties have that wonderful attitude of being in charge..that certainly shows in her sweet lil face…..she looks like my cat’s “momma”.
What a beautiful girl, there’s something so elegant about a tortie cat.
Scarlett Johansson should be so lucky to be that cute!!
She’s beautiful, but she’s no kitty!
π
Many thanks to all the kitty friend invites for my girl, Josie! She actually sits on the desk in front of me, so I was showing her the pictures of all her new friends!
What a lovely lady! She is sooo cute! Hey fellow meow mixers, I was given this hysterical cat book called “My cat hates you” and it’s pictures of real kitties in all their glory with hysterical captions and it is such a hoot to read what we might think our little furry friends might be thinking. They have their own site called mycathatesyou.com it’s really funny and I think you all might enjoy it as much as I do. check it out!!!!!
That site is hysterical!
What a little sweetie!!!! I swear, she looks just like Calie, my short hair torteshire calico!!!! She’s just darling!

Saw that on our local tv station last night–what a hoot!
I’m surprised that kitty didn’t swat that goofy turtle!

**What scares the stars?**
Jennifer Aniston, Cher, Michael Jackson and Whoopi Goldberg all have a fear of flying.
Billy Bob Thornton is afraid of antique furniture. “I get creeped out and I can’t breathe and I can’t eat around it,” Thornton once told Sky News. “I’ve had friends tell me that maybe I was beaten to death with an antique chair in a former life.” He’s also afraid of bold colors.
Pamela Anderson fears mirrors. (Does that mean she’s afraid to look at her reflection?)
Johnny Depp, Daniel Radcliffe and Sean “Diddy” Combs are frightened of clowns. “Something about the painted face, the fake smile,” Depp said in 1999 when he was promoting the film “Sleepy Hollow.” “There always seemed to be a darkness lurking just under the surface, a potential for real evil.”
Orlando Bloom is scared of pigs.
Country singer Lyle Lovett is terrorized by cows.
Scarlett Johansson is frightened of cockroaches.
Nicole Kidman fears butterflies.
Justin Timberlake gets the chills from snakes, spiders and sharks.
Uma Thurman is claustrophobic and fears confined spaces. “There was no acting required. Real screams available,” she told reporters about the scene in “Kill Bill: Vol. 2” where she is buried alive in a coffin. “It was horrific. Nobody wants to live that experience.”
Kim Basinger and Daryl Hannah are just the opposite, fearing wide, open spaces.
Carmen Electra, who starred in “Baywatch” is actually scared of water because she can’t swim. She once told Sky News that just being near water can give her a panic attack.
TV’s vampire-slayer Sarah Michelle Gellar has a very real fear of graveyards, so real that she refused to film “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” in a real one.
Rock star Sheryl Crow says heights and hearing “scary” noises frighten her the most.
Madonna is afraid of thunder.
Christina Ricci is afraid of indoor plants.
Matthew McConaughey is scared of tunnels and revolving doors.
Jennifer Love Hewitt is afraid of the dark and monsters under the bed.
The celebrity with the most phobias is…
Woody Allen. He’s afraid of insects, sunshine, dogs, deer, bright colors, children, heights, small rooms, crowds, cancer and anywhere except Manhattan.
What scares you? A Harris Poll national survey of 4,000 adults and 1,600 kids revealed that 56 percent of American adults admit they now fear or once did fear monsters. The survey found that 86 percent of adults and 91 percent of youngsters admitted to being very afraid of something. Nearly one in five adults also said they are scared of more things now than they were as a child.

Who isn’t afraid of cockroaches? Yuck!
Very sweet story…
**ASPCA SUCCESS STORY OF THE WEEK: FOSTER FLUNKIES**
The Masons were already a three-dog home when they began fostering boxers for a Michigan rescue group. Friends warned that once they took the rescued pooches into their home, there was a good chance their pack would grow. However, as Deb Mason reports, Γ’β¬ΕEveryone said weΓ’β¬β’d be Γ’β¬Λfoster flunkies,Γ’β¬β’ but we made it through our first four fosters without adopting.Γ’β¬Β
Then Josey arrived.
Γ’β¬ΕShe was emaciated and sickly when we took her in,Γ’β¬Β Deb says. By the time her fostering session was over and Josey was ready to find her forever home, the Masons had nursed her back to health from just 36 pounds to a healthy 55 pounds.
Γ’β¬ΕWe had a family come to meet her for a possible adoption,Γ’β¬Β Deb says, Γ’β¬Εbut they had just lost their boxer and decided they weren’t quite ready for a new dog.Γ’β¬Β DebΓ’β¬β’s husband saw this Γ’β¬ΕdefeatΓ’β¬Β as an opportunity. Γ’β¬ΕHe declared that no one was going to take Josey away from us,Γ’β¬Β Deb recalls. Γ’β¬ΕSo she became ours.Γ’β¬Β
Though Josey had shown aggression toward unfamiliar dogs, she immediately got along with the MasonsΓ’β¬β’ three other pooches. Γ’β¬ΕShe is an extremely loving dog,Γ’β¬Β Deb says, Γ’β¬Εand she quickly became a member of our household.Γ’β¬Β
The Masons also found out that Josey has a silly side. Γ’β¬ΕHer favorite antic is to spin in circles and then flop over on her back and look at us as if to say, Γ’β¬ΛYou look funny upside down!!Γ’β¬β’ It cracks us up every time she does it.Γ’β¬Β
P.S. As it turns out, their friends were rightΓ’β¬βthe Masons really did turn out to be Γ’β¬Εfoster flunkiesΓ’β¬Β; they adopted another rescued boxer just last summer!

FORGIVENESS
My idea of forgiveness is letting go of resentment that does not serve your better interest, ridding yourself of negative thoughts. All they do is make you miserable. Believe me, you can fret and fume all you want, but whoever it was that wronged you is not suffering from your anguish whatsoever.

Dee, I wish my husband would apply what Della Reese has said and also apply the quote to our marriage. My husband does a good sulk and really is quite good at acting like a 10 year old.
I need a vacation from him somewhere in Hawaii with an all paid as set up vacation. One can dream. mmmmm
That stinks, Karin. Maybe you should show this to your husband…
–Karin from SF– Your lucky if he’s acting like 10. Mine acts like 2. And he doesn’t believe in apologizing, even if he knows he wrong about something. Wish you luck on the homefront π‘
Thanks Susie…sorry to hear your’s is even worse. Dee, it wouldn’t work to show him the quotes as he would only look at me like I am stupid or something. Oh well at least I can change my life if it becomes necessary. That part I can do something about.
At least I have my cat Sylvester and I have to say sometimes a cat is much better than having a husband. Btw, husband is now saying he didn’t agree to having a cat even though I asked him it was okay with him before getting Sylvester. Guess he didn’t think that with an indoor cat there is a the cat box. WEll, love me love my cat and if you don’t love my cat then buh bye to you.
::::Goes and gives Sylvester some petting and kisses:::
Dee, if I try to show the quotes to my husband he would only look at me like I am an idiot. Susie, sorry to hear your’s throws tantrums like a 2 year old and won’t apologize. Mine won’t apologize most of the time. We have to both try to say we will change but that doesn’t happen on his part, only mine. Also, he is now saying he never agreed to my getting a cat and is only bringing this up now after he had agreed because he claims the litter box is too smelly (he won’t clean the box but loves to complain about it even though I clean way more than it needs to).
I have to say I prefer my cat Sylvester over my husband at this point. :::goes over to Sylvester to give him some pettings and kisses::: Love the sound of a purring cat.
I remember you saying you hoped your marriage made it to 3 years. Not a good prognosis right now. If he’s using the litterbox as an excuse for deeper unhappiness then constant cleaning won’t fix things. If he is truly put off by it you might check into buying a litter robot. Awesome invention and worth every penny in our multi-cat household!
I am so sorry life isn’t all sunshine and roses for you right now and I’m hoping for a happy ending to your story.
mine too that’s why he’s gone and I/m glad ’cause now I can have rescue home for preggers ferrals and their kittens, and older cats that people advertise that they will be taken to the pound, and I can keep them till they get good furrever homes.

Now that’s the kind of life I should be having at my age.Or should say ‘wanted’ at my age. We’ve been together 22 yrs. I feel like alot was a big waste. Now I’m mellow,& he’s an idiot. Wish I’d had a crystal ball back then.
The following is very schmaltzy, but I loved it anyway! Anyone with children or grandchildren will love this…

Hi everyone. It has been a while since I have been able to post let alone look for longer than just to see the cute kits and then I’m off to work. Morning Alex, I bet you aare having a great weekend, plus hopefully no homework.
I went to visit one of my Home and Hospital students and his family recently got 3 new kittens one for each child. They are not sure of the babies genders yet. I’d say they are 6 to maybe 8 weeks old. two tuxes and one high white brown tabby. Respectfully named Angel, Chewie and Jar Jar. The boys lovee star wars hence the last two names. They are absolutely adorable and have been helping this week to fill my need to have a kitten or two of my own. As of right now still living at home and Stepfather says NO!!!
I enjoy working with my student and then having a ten minute cuddle/play session before I go to my next appointments for home and hospital. I have three students, sub in the during the day plus I tutor on Saturdays.
I am truly hoping for a full time teaching position for August so I can have a little more free time.
Morning and happy saturday to all.
Ange
Ange,
Me too! I would like a regular classroom. With some postive thinking maybe we will both be blessed with our wish!
I will pray for you too, and cross everything positble besides fingers. Attempts to cross eyes! WSell failed again but, I will keep trying. LOL!
I hope you and I both get lucky and get our own classrooms come August.
If you don’t mind my asking where do you live> Just curious if you are near me and running the same guantlet. :o)
What grade do you want/hope for. Mines K to 2nd possibly 3rd.
Glad you are getting some quality time with kittens even if you don’t have a place where you can have one of your own right now.
So true. When I was younger okay so not soo okld but when I was a kid my family always and I mean always had at least 1 cat and 1 dog. But when my Mom remarried when I was 13 we became a dog only household. Sad becuase as much as I love dogs cats are my true loves. Something about the loyalty and trust being earned not just given.
They are just too cute and I couldn’t resist a few kitty toys I saw while at petsmart. A few balls and teasers. They just love them. Everytime a visit now I see them pouncing and chewing on the toys.
Plus my students mother asked me to buy 3 colors for them. Which I did, I got nylon becuase they didn’t have holes in them for sizing.
Hope everone is having a great weekend.
Oh and Scarlett is just too cute and gorgeous. Love the beautifl tortie coloring.
—Elene in York,PA—Just when I thought I was getting a grip on the cat control here, come to find out,Runt’s sister has apparently birthed her kitten’s. I’m worried sick. They’re at the least,2 wks.early.I’d say, closer to 3 wks.early. I might have got lucky & found where she’s got them. Very bad spot. Skunk territory. We already found a dead baby opossum near by. If I don’t find them pronto, they won’t make it. Wish me luck.I sure need God watching over me & her & her fuzzies now.
God is watching over you and I will pray you find those kittens quickly. You are a God sent to them.
Good luck finding the kittens, susie. Prayers and hugs to you.
Thumbs up for you!
Great freebie from Atkins…

Time Traveler FUzZzzZZzzzZ
How else can she be born on a date that has not yet come to pass?
Wow! You’re right!… A cutie all the same!
I see 2006… maybe its been changed since you saw it?
I almost adopted a tortie twice. First time when one of my neighbors abandoned their cat. I saw it’s picture in the newspaper for cat of the day and when I called the shelter it had already been adopted. At the time it was the only cat that my first cat Whiskers tolerated and actually seemed to like. The second time was when there was a stray tortie that seemed to be suffering and so thin. I took her to my vet who out of compassion didn’t charge me for her to received some fluids and informed me that she had a cracked tooth. I took her back to the group of strays who a neighbor fed and continued to give her a can of wet food a day to help her gain some weight. I was planning to take her back to the vet once I had saved up some money for the procedure. After a couple of days, she just disappeared. Another neighbor of mine informed me that someone had come and picked her up. I never saw her again. She was a real sweetie for a stray so someone must have owned her before she was a stray. Poor kitties.
awwww she’s super cute! what sweet pose. π
is anyone here Miu? Mezzermama? kitten whispere? elaine? Dee ?

Hi, Abby’s Mom. People seem to get busy on the weekends and there are far fewer postings then. I am visiting my sister for the weekend in Washington state to attend a bridal shower for her daughter (my niece). I brought my seven year old niece with me since she is going to be a flower girl in the wedding next month. She is loving all the attention from the female members of her extended family.
Hope your weekend is going well!
November 1, 2007?! Gosh, she’s going to be HUGE when she’s born.;) π
Wow!!!!! What a cute kitten, but a very big kitten for her age! Whether she’s big or small, her cuteness shows who she really is! ;)+
Scarlett is one cute kitten! She’s so adorable!

look again they must have realised the mistake,’cause it is fixed now.
BTW she’s a pretty tortie.
π Still quite the cutie pie, if not a time traveler….
Scarlett has the most beautiful hair. If she gives her humans some of that famous tortie attitude, she’ll be able to get away with anything. Too cute.
another laugh out loud video–“Don’t touch my bone!!”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jpi0NJmm3ps
That poor dog! At the rate he’s going, he’ll never get to finish the bone. . . too funny! π
–extremely funny, but that dog has some serious issues. π
better the bone than someone’s hand! π
–that’s for sure–
What a sweetie! Another funny.
Lipstick in School– Priceless!!
According to a news report, a certain private school in
Washington recently was faced with a unique problem.
A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and
would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they put
on their lipstick they would press their lips to the mirror leaving
dozens of little lip prints.
Every night the maintenance man would remove them and the next
day the girls would put them back.
Finally the principal decided that something had to be done.
She called all the girls to the bathroom and met them there with
the maintenance man. She explained that all these lip prints were
causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the
mirrors every night.
To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors,
she asked the maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required.
He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet,
and cleaned the mirror with it.
Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror.
There are teachers, and then, there are educators.
She’s going “Do you have an *appointment* to touch me?” π
so so so so so so so so so so CCCCCUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTEEEEEEEEEE
She is so freaking cute!
Aw, sweet tortie kitten (but those eyes are fierce – Scarlett’s not going to stand any nonsense).
I dunno – I just tilted the screen on my laptop and now they look sad!
hi–had to comment on Scarlett–black and fire, a perfect halloween cat, i always think! Also, about DIABETES–there is research that indicates that feeding high protein, NO CARBs, works very well for these cats, and they live longer, better, without meds. makes sense–they shouldn’t be having carbohydrates, anyway.
Love your Scarlet. I too have a tortoiseshell kitty and she never had that “kitten look” either. She is 5 yrs old now and she is my baby. I love her and your baby looks adorable too.
Scarlett is absolutely adorable!!! My 4 year old tortie would think she’s her kitten….tee hee! Torties are wonderful kitties and I can tell Scarlett will be one in a million! π
What a darling little sweetie-pie! May the Lord bless you and Scarlett always. π
She is soooo cute!!!
Greetings to a new Scarlett – we need a new inspiration every now and then – she sure looks confident and if not making a dress out of curtains, could certainly shred them if she chose – maybe she’ll think about that tomorrow.
Remember Torties have three X chromosomes (that’s how Calicos get their coloring) so a wise person once said they are like Hershey bars with almonds — half sweet and half nuts! Enjoy her–I love mine!
Aww itz so Sexi lol not realy its just so CUTE!!!!
I love tortie babies!
awww. i have two cats and 1 kitten but none of them are as cute as scarlett
