That is so cute!! Curious kitties are the best!! ๐
What pretty markings pepper has. She looks like a mischief maker!
Who adopted her sister? ๐
I don’t know who adopted her sister … she was taken before we adopted Pepper. I’ve always wished we could have gotten both of them, but oh well!
She has a look of real determination about her. She is going to do what she has to do. My Molly was like that as a kitten she was always really intent on whatever project she had to do–whether it made sense to me or not and she would always talk to herself as she did it.
Aw, I love it when they talk to themselves! Pepper talks to herself whenever she is carrying around her stuffed Scooby. I wish I knew what she was saying to him!
Awww…what a ‘punkin! She looks like a furry little cheetah! She’s beautiful! ๐
Pretty little Pepper. Love her spotty lil spots and her stripy lil braclets. She has her eye on something outside. Soon she will be wanting a window perch so she can keep an watch over the neighborhood.
We have two little stands set by windows so that she can watch the world go by. She loves to lay on them and nap. ๐
What an adorable baby. I’ll bet she is Ms. Determination.
A very special meow out to Chester today. Our thoughts and prayers are with you my friend. Love from your TDK family.
yes Chester. I second that
Ditto! ๐
I tripple that ๐
Quadruple! Prayers are with you, Chester.
Quintuple! I’m a Pepper, she’s a Pepper, they’re all peppers, Wouldn’t you like to be a Pepper, too?
–Most definately Chester– Prayers to you & headbunts to help to thru these times.
Definately! Chester, we’re here and can blather or listen, whatever you want.
what a gorgeous doll!
Awwww, Pepper is gorgeous — love her markings!
What a pretty kitty! And she’s loved, I’m sure. My two tabbies love to peek out the blinds if they’re not raised. Only problem is–when I do raisethe blinds, the cord is hanging down and Molly chews on them. I have no “ends” on any of my blinds!!!
Try using cord cleats to tie the cords up, so that way your cats won’t chew on the platic. There is something with the plastic that attracts the cats to chew.
Max and Molly’s Mom (and everyone else),
You should always make sure that the cord is NOT hanging down — just pick it up and loop it over the very top of the blinds, that’s what I do. The reason for this is because kitties like to play with those cords, as yours does, and unfortunately too many of them have died because they became entangled and essentially hung themselves accidentally. ๐
I’m sure you don’t want that to happen to either of your furry babies, so please be sure to put those cords so far out of the way that they are unreachable by curious little paws! ๐
My Sushi does the same thing. She has had an operation to remove string from her intestines – got drawer open to my sewing cabinet and removed a spool. What a learning experience. Our new home has blinds and I like your solution, however since I’m only 5 ft. tall I can’t reach the top of the blinds. Does anyone have suggestion? I need the window covering but need her safe even more.
DJ,
Hi, about the loose blind cords. You can get one of those clear “Command” self sticking hooks and wrap your cord around it, out of kitty’s way. They are removable, in case you need to move it and come with some replacement stickers. I’ve never had them tear up my wall as of yet, you just pull the bottom tab and they come off the wall when you want to move them. They come in several sizes. Hope this helps.
Great idea. I just suggested cord cleats, though yours is just as good, and probably easier to find.
The same goes for baby cribs. Cut the “loop” end so it is just two straight lines works for animals and babies/toddlers. Also keep the crib away from the window.
Hi Susan in Ga,
How are you and Petey? I haven’t seen you post in awhile, was afraid you might have been under the weather. Or maybe you were on a short vacation. Hope you have a nice weekend.
Hi Renee, Petey and I are just fine. I check out the kitty each day but kind of lost interest in the direction of where the site has gone. It is not my place to say anything but if you notice there are quite a few of us that do not join in much anymore. I usually check thru at night to see who needs prayers for family furry and human.
How have you been Renee?
Mostly I am a lurker, especially during the school year when I am lucky if I can look. Anyway I have noticed quite a few people who used to post either don’t, or at least not often.
Hey Susan. I gave up my extra hours at work Monday. Catch me at home, okay?
Thanks–really I did learn that quite quickly!!! Although most of the cords are so short now that they don’t hang down any more.
I know it’s dangerous for the little minxes to ingest string and thread and other foreign objects, so I’ll be very, very careful.
Thanks again, Rumi.
Don’t worry, we keep the cords tied up out of Pepper’s reach!!
Pepper is just gorgeous. She’s found a great place to look at the world.
Such a sweet kitty! Love the spots and stripes!
Beautiful markings!
Awww what a sweet trouble maker, very determined to have what ever she wants! I love it when they set their little minds on something and try to get it, no matter how much they have to work at it to get there.
She shares a name with my solid gray girl, Pepper. My Pepper is Miss Deterimation too!
We’re huge Beatles fans, so this Pepper gets her name from Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. ๐
What a cute nosey nancy! ๐
What a little monster! And so cute. Coincidence that there is also a Daily Puppy for today named Pepper!
Salt and Peppa! What a cutie!
She looks like a bengal kitten.
Happy Purringly Holiday!!!!
I agree with you as she has spots instead of stripes. A beautiful kitten and expensive one.
I thought she might be a Bengal, too, at first. But now that she’s bigger, I think she’s just a plain old tabby. Maybe she was the love child of a Bengal and a stray, and that’s how come she and her sister ended up on the tracks? Either way, we got her for free! ๐

YAY! Redford has 299 votes so far! He is close to making Top Cat of the month! Thanks, TDK-ers!(And yes, you can vote more than once — hint hint!)
Hi Rainingwolf,
Hope you are feeling some better today. Sorry to hear that you have pneumonia, that’s rough. I just voted for Redford, he now has 317 votes. Yeah, Redford. He is such a cute kitty.
375 votes when I just voted, again. Glad you’re well enough to post again, Rainingwolf. Remind us tomorrow. ๐
Redford had 326 when I voted! I hope he does make cat of the month. He’s a beautiful boy, Rainingwolf! I saved his page and will go vote for him again later. Hope you feel better soon, too. It’s no fun being sick.
Max will try walking up my blinds as if they were ladder wrungs! He can’t get up very high because they bend under his weight but it is so funny watching him try!
Pepper is adorable. I love her spots! What a sweet kitty.
Make that 347 for that baby doll!
I had the 400th vote. Not only is he a very hansome cat; he gives me hope because of his age. I even showed Basil his picture and told him he can grow to be a fine cat like Redford if he will just work with me. We are trying to get him on a natural diet that will boost his red blood cell count. Anyway–Redford is wonderful, and I hope he wins!
Pepper, you spicey li’l furbaby! So cute and so curious…wishing you love and long life with your forever family.
Happy Memorial Day to all veterans and family of veterans.
Last but not least, HI ALEX! ๐
How sweet you are little kitty.
Cute kitty ๐
if you ever find another one like her let me know LOL
Lovely markings – she looks beautiful, and intelligent too.
I saw a story on this in today’s paper:
http://www.catgoods.com/index.html
Has anybody in TDKland used one?
wow, never seen one of those before. one of my cats is scared of collars, she would really flip if tried putting on of those on her. of course the best way to save the birds is to keep the cats inside, but for those who like to let the fuzzies out occasionally it looks like a good idea.
Interesting idea but I think I would stick to the bell on the collar. My cat is an indoor kitty so I don’t have to deal with this being an issue. My neighbor leaves his cat out all day and must be a good birder as they have a bell on it’s collar.
Pepper is so cute and adorable. Love the spots.
what a beautiful little girl! i love the striped/spotted ones. my kitties like to break the end pieces off the blinds trying to get behind them, so i have to keep them up a little bit. hope eveyone has a great weekend, and please remember that Memorial Day isn’t just for caing bbq’s. Take time to remember the people who gave everything they had to give us anything we could ever want ๐
the should be “camping and bbq’s” i swear it looked right when i hit the button!
My kitty is like that, curious as ever. Has been since she stopped being scared and hiding under the couch. She just loves lounging out on her condo which is at window ledge level so she can look outside perfectly. The things we make sure we have for our little friends.
Sylvester loves to poke his nose through the blinds too to look at the birds or a bug.
Hey all, just wanted to let you know do not use DHL for shipping. I ordered an item from Amazon and it was shipped via DHL. It was suppose to arrive yesterday 5/25 via next day air. As of today, 5/26, I still do not have my package. DHL doesn’t know where the item is except that it left the facility in OH at 4:53 yesterday. I was told it should arrive on Tuesday (Mon being a national holiday). I am so frustrated I could scream. I want to scream and kick something. I will think twice before ordering from Amazon now and will never use DHL for shipping. Below is the shipping details. Oh I need some chocolate! Maybe go to the gym to work off this anger.

May 24, 2007 05:57:00 PM COPPELL TX UNITED STATES Departure Scan
May 24, 2007 12:33:00 PM — Shipment picked up from seller’s facility
The company I used to work for had many problems with DHL–it’s cheaper than the others but I guess you get what you pay for. They switched to UPS.
Have had problems with them myself–I understand the frustration. I hope you get your order by Tuesday. Make sure you let Amazon know what happened with shipping–especially if you paid extra for next day air!
Hang in there, Karin. Go to the gym, think about your upcoming job interview, anything but be angry. I’m sure everyone is doing all they can to get it to you. BTW, what did you order?
I ordered a special automated litter box. I broke the current one I have by trying to clean it. It is the kind that Littermaid isn’t offering in the retail stores anymore and it is the only one that fits in my bathroom. I checked out several pet stores. Meanwhile I am using the kind of litter boxes that you buy prefilled and can throw the whole container away when it has been used by my cat. I will need to buy two of them to get through the weekend.
Hmmmm. Not sure I’m familiar with it. We have a litter robot that we swear by and are hoping to get another when hubby finds another job. We bought one for our daughter that hooks up to the toilet and gets washed out twice a day, but our cats don’t like the marble chips. A newer version uses plastic beads and I may try replacing with those to attract them.
What beautiful markings! The classic tabby.
CUTIE PIE !!! I just love kittens…….
good morning everyone, nice kitty
You all seem to know your stuff so I need help. My husband thought that he was doing something good to bring home a 3 week old kitten. I know nothing about hand raising kittens but I am going to do the best that I can. Any advice or websites links would be great!
3 weeks is very young. You may need to go to your local pet store and get some kitten formula and a bottle. You can call a local vet for advice as well. They would know nutrition the kitten needs and what to watch for etc.
Molly was 4 weeks old when she was orphaned. I bottle fed her some although she was able to start on solid food at that time and I gave her lots of contact and she liked to be washed with a damp washcloth I think it felt a little like a mother’s tongue to her. she was really sweet and really bonded to me as her mommy I also talked to my veternarian’s office for all the advice they could give me. I think lots of holding and loving is important
OK, one link I found for you
http://www.pusscats.com/Orphaned_Kitten_Care.htm
And another
http://www.feralcat.com/raising.html
He did do the right thing, trust me ๐ I found my two and I can’t imagine life without them now. The little guy will love you forever for giving him a home and caring for him.
Do make sure to take the kitten to the vet ASAP to make sure that he doesn’t have any problems that require medical attention.
and finally

Good luck to you ๐
Tracey,
I took in 2 new born babies last Sunday. They were with me for 3 days until I found a surrogate. All is well with the babies. A little tip. Keep them warm and hydrated. Milk replacement and electrolites. Pedilyte works wonderfully. The tiny kits get very dehydrated quickly. Also you have to stimulate the little bellies to get them to deficate and urinate. I found out that right after you feed them works great. It is like magic! KMR at Petmart (milk replacement) I fed mine every 2-3 hours. I’m not sure how often for a 3 week old. Best of luck and head bonks to you and the new baby.
Congratulations on your new baby! I bottle fed Sox at first too. I went to the vet for kitty formula. We have no pet stores so that leaves grocery stores and I wasn’t so sure of that formula. It took awhile to get him to suck the bottle. Had to rub his belly to stimulate him to go to the bathroom. Warmth is important too. You have a whole bunch rooting for you and your family–enjoy and tell us how he is doing.
–Sox’s Mom– I feel compelled to ask. You say you have no pet stores. Where do you live?
That looks like something my Maskie would do.. I love the kitten fuzz on her belly, i bet its really soft to snuggle aginst ๐
I love her belly fur, too! But she doesn’t let me bury my face in it like I would like to, haha.
I love this cuddly little kitty with the lovely coloring and sweet little smile! The Lord’s blessings on you and your kitties always. ๐
Pepper the Peeper! Too cute for words.
awww she’s so cute curiously peeking thru the blinds. i love how she has her paws up there too…great name too ๐
Love Pepper! Wish I could get a quick belly rub in. Lots of rain here in TX. My kitties love to watch it rain. Have a great Memorial Day holiday.
Update on my orphaned babies. Shadow has been wonderful as a adoptive mom. My friend says that they are getting “rolly polly” and sound like siamese. Lots of complaining when Shadow “steps away”. Hopefully good new will continue.
There have been horrible reports of flooding in TX. Stay dry and I am glad you have good news about the babies! Yeah Shadow!
That is great news for the weekend, Puddytat! Pleased some of that rain to Georgia.
–Yaaaaaaaaaaa Redford ๐ My last voting for him showed 418 votes. He’s a winner in my eyes already. You must be excited & proud of him Rainingwolf. ๐
Yes, Redford is just Adorable!!!!!!!
I must comment on what an adorable kitten Pepper is! I wish Atticus would be as gentle as “poking her little nose throught the blinds.” He crashes through them all the time–all 14 pounds of him! He’s broken 3 slats on the blinds in my bedroom!
ohhh so cute!!!!
Pepper is adorable, love the markings and the nosey attitude! I have two window peepers myself, they have to know everyone walking down the street.
Have a great day everyone…..
Our little Zoe’s a real window blind rattler too. If we don’t get right over to the window and move them out of her way, she just climbs right through them. It’s a wonder we’ve got anything left covering any of the windows. (Big, big sigh) The things we do for kitties:)
wow what a cutie! She looks like a bengal with those spots!
cute!:))) she has beautiful spots!
awwwww…..a cat that does windows!
What a little cutie pie. Looks so much like my Trixie they could be sisters! It’s nice to post for a change without all the action-film chase scenes to wade through.
What a spotted tummy beauty, and look at those determined ears – yes this is a determined kitty – love to see that !!! Mine now have their own little “peek corner” in my mini blinds – the right corner last three are bent just so a little head can fit in and peek out at the front yard and garage roof (with birds). Love those determined ears !!!
Pepper you and your antics with the blinds SHALL have one more comment! ๐
Ok, Pepper is just way too cute. Wonder if she will destroy those blinds?!
We’ve been out of the country, so I am just now finding out that my baby is a star! Pepper’s head is going to get so big when I tell her she made The Daily Kitten. ๐ Thanks for all of your sweet comments, everyone!
She tries! Especially now that she is 13 pounds … the slats sag under her weight. ๐
i’m madly in love with this little baby
Awwww i wanna bitehim hes so cute!!!
