I’m the first one…She’s mine….Grabs her and flees back to Winnipeg
Angus the cat is beautiful, and that expression is indescribable. Lillianna is not too cute, now is she?
it is so pretty
Whazzup!? Adorable look of puzzlement on her face!
Nah, this little face is saying “Que?”…
And take a look at the shiny kitty lip!!!!
I love kitty lips!
I do too! Kiss them kiss them, I do! What a charming face.
My bug has black lips, I think he looks like the Abominable Snow man from the Rudolph movie. He’s very kissable too!
OOOh, a coon – got a soft spot for them. Lillianna is georgeous!
Hey Rosie – Missed the bagels yesterday; I’m CPR & 1st Aid certified and was assisting with yesterday’s cuteness overload cases. I am prepared to give a deposition on CatRancher’s behalf.
Today’s Bagel of The Day: Flagels – aka flattened bagels! I think they’re a baker’s oops, but they’re good. I prefer to have the baker cut them as I like having all my fingers.
Are those the ones without the hole?
There’s usually a small hole, but sometimes it’s closed up.
Where do you get flagels?? I have never seen any near where I live. Though I could go for a buttered bialy.
Hi Jersey Jennifer –
Hubby gets them at a place in West Milford – don’t know the name but if you’re in the area I will check and let you know.
it’s hard to believe that such a beautiful face can be so “naughty” !!! 😆
Oh my goodness!! Soooo Cute!!
*POUNCE*
*falls on face* Ratz!! someone beat me to it!
Heehee ^_^
Looks like she’s saying “Huh?? Who’s naughty?” Pretty girl.
“Naughty? I don’t even know what the word means! Oh, by the way, it was a Big Mean Dog who broke in and knocked everything off the table.”
Hi, Alex!
Looks more like, “What’s that?! Can I play with it?! I bet it tastes fun!! Can I, Can I?!”
–How are you feeling today Huddy’s Mama? I hope better. Too many health issues going on these days. I wish I could snap my fingers & make everyone all better.
Lillianna’s little face does help tho.
🙂
*boards a cheap day return to Winnipeg and gets home with a squirming (and purring) backpack*
*sneaks up and nabs squirming backpack and highttails of to unknown destination*
Hahahahahaha
I got her!!!
Georgie’s Mama didn’t notice the GPS trackig device sewn into her backpack. Sneaks up behind her grabs the backpack, offers a vanilla latte and asks to share!
Sharing circle!!
Cuddle cuddle cuddle!! and it’s not even my little girl Cuddles!!!
BTW now 3 of the new furbabies have their eyes open and 1 has brown eyes and the other two have blue eyes!! How sweet my new little guys are!
Envy you your furbabies! How come 1 has brown eyes? I thought they all started blue?
I’m not sure why the little guy has brown eyes, but they are beautiful!!!
*boards a very expensive day return to wherever Fogfoot is and flies back home with a purring lump on my jumper*
Oh Pipa’s mom, that squirming lump isn’t Lilianna, she’s at the sharing circle, in the TDK *hidden location*.
AAGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH
GET IT OFF!!!
GET IT OFF!!!!
*flings arms in air and waves like crazy while jumping up and down*
You are SO funny, Pipa’s mum!
The expression on he face (precious) looks like someone is talking to her. I love those puzzled looks…”what Mom?” She is a little cutie pie. How can you not love kittens!
I had a Maine Coon that had the same coloring. Cute!

I loved the Rachel blog you posted yesterday Instinct…
Made me laugh really hard…
Thanks!
🙂
I missed it yesterday, and can’t find it. Any possibility of reposting the link??
Not a chance 🙂

Thanks ! OMG that is too funny. Never posted a personal ad… don’t think I’ll start now. Geez… where would one start? My life is a cliche 😆
Just in time for Father’s Day.
Good morning all!!
Hi Alex!!!
I brought orange cinnamon buns and hazelnut coffee! and mimosas of course!
wonderful !!! these virtual brunches don’t raise my blood sugar, praise the lord !!!
Oh!
It’s Pierce Brosnan who raises my blood sugar!
Pierce raises my pulse !!!…
Sorry, Ladies–he’s still mad at all of you for forgetting his birthday–he’s MINE forever!
Hubby is making me a nice blackberry jam filled crepes for breakfast. Guess he is trying. I said I will try to remember this.
Sylvester is sitting at my feet as I type on the computer. Guess he is looking for some love. Giving him some pettings.
Had third interview at Merrill Lynch on Tuesday. Went for four hours and met with four of the Financial Advisors. Whew! I was so tired. If I don’t get this job I will be very surprised. Really need a new job asap as the bills are creeping up.
This kitty is so cute! I have been thinking of getting a playmate for Sylvester because he seems to want a lot of attention from me lately. I am thinking he might enjoy a new friend as that was the goal in the first place – to adopt two kitties. I mentioned it to hubby and he said he is okay with another kitty. He reminded me that the cost will double and if I am okay with that, then go ahead since the original idea was two cats. Will think about it.
Hi Alex..almost the start of summer vacation.
Hey Karin, glad to hear that things may be starting to turn around 🙂
Karin, I am so excited for you! I sure hope that interview works out. Your Sylvester sounds like my Psycho. Ever since we lost Gizmo, she’s been very needy – we’re going to get her a buddy a.s.a.p. Your husband certainly deserves acknowledgement too! 😎
oh my yes!!!!! Pearce Brosnin here I come!!
True, but reading these messages before lunch just makes me hungrier.
Lillianna, you almost make me wish I still lived in Abilene.
–I guess my lack of education is showing again. Would you mind very much explaining to me what a ‘mimosas’ is? I need to ask since it is used so often in the posts here. I feel embaressed(sp.?) to ask, but, how will i learn?
😳
Orange juice and Champagne. Seriously YUMMY
–They’re right up my ally then, since I really love wine-coolers
A mimosa is a wonderful drink containing orange juice and champagne or sparkling wine. Also known a a Buck’s Fizz in the UK. Yum!
Yuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmy 😛
And it gets that vitamin C in you and even calcium and vitamin D. 🙂
Susie,
We learn from asking, so don’t feel bad asking. I learned the only dumb question is the one not asked. Don’t feel embaressed.
Thanks Sox’s Mom. It’s nice to have a place to go & not be told my questions are stupid. I get that alot here. I’m the more positive one around here. I got that attitude from my mom(RIP).
Questions are NEVER stupid!
What an irresistable little darling! I wouldn’t be able to put her down – she’d never learn to walk!
GM, mmmmm Orange cinnamon buns. Are they a day dream for do you by any chance have a recipe? For now, I’ll take one and enjoy it with a latte.
I do have a recipe, but I’ll have to post tomorrow (it’s at home!!! and I am playing hooky at work- not doing a darn thing!)
Thanks I look forward to it!!!! I’ll make them as a treat the next time I have company.
The thing aabout Main coons is you think they are so sweet until you are up at 3 am removing one from the chimney……..Yes its true Lois is a Naughty boy and mommy is tired LOL
Brandi,
I told my honey about the pic of your cat, he wanted to know how much he weighed and if that is average for the breed? I had never seen an orange Maine Coon before, is he unusual? Do they come with less hair? I don’t think I could keep up with it. He is amazing. 🙂
Oh my bad although I do have a orange maine coon named james, it is not the one on my space that is a pic my kids sent me………..I thought you meant Indie in my pics…….sorry for the misunderstanding……..Oh and James has as much fur as Lois the tabby type mane coon LOL
I have seven Maine Coons, and one of them Booger is a red (orange) classic. He is gorgeous. My two boys average about 20 lbs. Freddy (now deceased) weighted about 28 lbs. My biggest girl, Phaedra, weighs 17 lbs. Maine Coons come in all all patterns (solid color, tabby-stripes, classic-sworls) and colors. Maine Coons are distinguished by their lynx tips, lion’s mane, fur on their paw pads, long tails, and long hair… they do not come in short haired models (lol) but their fur is as prone to matting as, say, Persians. THEY ARE GREAT CATS! Gentle, intelligent, GOOFs!
I don’t have a grey or “blue” one, howver… Lilliana is just beautiful!
Thanks CatRancher! I think the little tufts on the ears is the most wonderful trait! I can’t resist it! And I love a goof, as a matter of fact I ARE one!
Hey Alex! Isn’t Lilianna a beauty? And isn’t her name beautiful too? What do you think she’s got going through her mind when that was taken? Don’t you think her eyes are sooo intence? I can’t believe how much she looks like my Kombie cat, except he has a short coat. It’s the first silver tabby colored cat we’ve had since I came on TDK. My Kombie is my quiet love. He is sort of skittish and easily frieghtened off. He hasn’t been that comfortable in the house until lately. I’m glad he’s finally getting over the trauma of moving to a new place. His littermate adjusted right away. As long as he knows where his food bowl is he’s fine! lol Funny how different they are even though they were brought up together. I guess we all react differently to any given situation, and we never know what that reaction will be. That’s why we do fire drills. If you do somthing over and over you don’t have to think about it anymore it’s just a reaction. Same thing with habits. I heard it’s harder to break a bad habit than to learn a new one. I think I’ll try it, how about you? This summer I will stop a bad habit, and see how hard it is by the time school starts again, or how long it takes to stop doing it. Now what habit do I have that’s bad…..just kidding; I’m going to stop biting my nails! There. Now we’ll see how long it takes to stop. Wish me luck.
Your DK friend,
Rosie
She’s beautiful! You should play that James Blunt song for her.
Adorable little girl, indeed. Good morning all *yawn* This is early for me. Usually Miu and Pipa’s Mom are thudding and globetrotting by now. *reaches over to Fogfoot’s backpack, scritches kitten’s chin, grabs for herbal tea, and wanders off to sit down in sharing circle.
Hi Mom to Tiga!
It is 4:20 p.m. here in Spain… and yes I tried to catnap Lilliana but someone froma Winnipeg got there first (I love the name Winnipeg it sounds sweet)…
Anyone seen Miu??
Thanks Pipa…..It’s home to me….Lovely city
The Canadian plains have the coolest town names! There’s Winnipeg, Manitoba; Moose Jaw and Saskatoon in Saskatchewan…check out a detailed map sometime.
I went to Calgary for the Stampede 7 years ago, and have been dying to return ever since. I’d live in Calgary in a heartbeat! The most intense, beautiful yellow I’ve ever seen was the myriad of canola fields that were blooming when I was there!
There’s still time to plan for Stampede if you already have your passport. It’s always the 1st Friday after Canada Day (July 1), and goes on for 10 days. It’s all good, no matter what day to go. Stay at the Hyatt in downtown Calgary, have drinks at the James Joyce Pub, and plan a side trip to Canmore, Jasper, and Edmonton. I wish I could go… *sigh*
Hey Ginny, it’s always been a dream of mine to one day attend the Stampede…..wish I could go too….
I have always wanted to go fishing in the Yukon, heard the trout there are enormous! I would live in Canada but it’s so darn cold! I like south Texas weather, of course I work inside and have a shady yard… It will be my wedding annaverary during the stampede, maybe next year we could go and renew our vows there…we desided that we would like to renew our vows in strange/different/unusual places. This year we are doing it in a hot air balloon over San Antonio at day break. Very romantic don’t you think?
I was living in FL when I went. I flew from Tampa to Minneapolis, then transferred to a flight from there to Calgary. The magic began as soon as I cleared Customs–the terminal was all decked out in rail fencing, there was a western swing band complete with fiddle and steel guitar, and EVERYONE was in western garb. It was delicious!
The last leg on the flight home was a jolt back to reality, but I prefer not to dwell on that one…too much good stuff in between! It helped that the Canadian dollar was worth about 65 cents at the time 😀
–I did learn alittle spanish here from– Pipa’s mum–
–Mucha suete–
there will be times it will come in handy & I have you to thank
Buenos tardes, Marina. Yo estoy en Nueva Jersey, en Los Estados Unidos, y ahora el hora es diez y media, en la manana.
Ok! I’m impressed! 🙂
Muchas gracias por escribir en mi idioma Mom to Tiga.
De nada 🙂
Bienvenidos al Gatito del Dia! Saludos al todos! Tengo chilaquiles verdes, tamales dulces y cafe con leche para todos! Mmm…ricos! Esta gatita esta rica, tambien!
Buenos dias tout le monde.
Oops. I’m trying to remember my Spanish from high school, but taking French in college has me tres confused.
Hey!!!
You all make me feel so welcome!
Thank you for trying!!!
Umm…No tengo bigote. Me pantalones es azules y Picoso esta bien! And that pretty much covers my conversational spanish!
Me lapis es muy largo y armarillo…….. I can read it better than speak it.
Que lastima! I can no longer remember much of my high school Spanish! When a waiter is talking to me, I can understand when he asks about bebidas, and I answer cerveza! Beyond that, I only do well if I need to know how Paco, Sr. Mendez, or Pablo Y Luisa are, or where the biblioteca is!
Rosie, espero que tu no tienes bigotes, pero estoy feliz que Lilianna los tiene! Que preciosos! 😆
Ginny there’s sort of a funny story about my Conversational Spanish class. I was practicing for a test. I was to ask some questions as if conducting an interview and another student was to answer them. Every morning I sat at the bus stop all alone and this morning I was practicing my questions, “Que es su nombre?” “Que es su numero de telefono?” and so on. When the bus pulled up I stood up to get on and like 10 people came out from behind me to get on too. Evidentally they had been standing there the whole time thinking I was talking to myself! 🙂
😆 ❗
we got some beautiful eye shots lately. Such expressive kitties! She’s gorgeous.
What an adorable little face…..and those puppy dog eyes….
Good morning TDK’rs! Need your help this morning…Kittyman is starting to have frequent accidents! The litter boxes are in my porch area at one end of the house and laundry room at other, yesterday got home to a huge puddle in the laundry room. I’m at a loss, this is the second accident he’s had. Could it be he’s gotten confused as to where the litter boxes are? Since he’s been on that thyroid medicine, he can pee a mean puddle too, those meds make him drink more water….. Any suggestions?? Really appreciate it!
How old is Kittyman?
Where & when was the first accident? Was it urine or feces or both?
How often do you scoop the litter box?
Have you recently changed litter (brand or scent or texture)?
Have you purchased a new litter box, rim, or lid?
Have you recently moved the litter boxes?
Has there been a recent change in house routine, occupants, schedule, or diet?
If none of these areas seem to be contribuing to the problem, please contact your veterinarian right away. Your vet will also ask all of these questions, but your vet will be able to take blood & urine samples for testing. It’s amazing how fast a bladder infection can be cleared up!
In the meantime, if the problem seems to be only in the laundry room, you might want to consider adding a similar-style litterbox to that room, using the same cat litter brand as you use on your porch.
I second this advice! If there are no changes, there could be a medical issue here. Please let us know.
I second this advice, except I recommend ruling out a medical issue FIRST.
Poor little Kittyman, you now how private cats are about these things, he is probably very embarrased. Anyway, it’s probable the meds but you may want to get him checked for a urinary tract infaction. It may be he just isn’t making it to the box in time, if he is drinking more water etc. Best bet would be to talk to your vet. Kittyman will appreciate it. Purrs and hugs to him.
Knew I could count on my friends here. I’m calling my vet to make an appt. for the Man. Hope it’s nothing serious, bladder infection never crossed my mind. He’s due for his blood work for his hyperthyroidism too….poor guy! Thanks again everyone!
My kitties were doing this all the time and it turned out I just needed to buy new litter boxes, since the plastic ones are supposed to last for only about 6 months or so anyway. I didn’t know that, but buying new ones took care of the issue. Now I am very dilligent about that.
I didn’t realize there was an expiration date on the boxes. Does that count if you always use catbox liners or only if the litter is coming directly in contact with the box?
I never knew that. I’ve been using one of mine for the last five years and my kitties have never complained. Of course, I swish mine out with vinegar every couple of months, too.
The problem is that the plastic is porous, and even if you clean them out regularly, the scratching the cats do makes the plastic absorb the odors of the elimination. I actually wash mine out with OxyClean (I try to do it every month) and they do get very clean, but I did have to replace all of them a couple of months ago.
I think that even if you use liners, the sratching is still going to rough up the boxes.
Hi Kate. Hope things are going well. You wouldn’t believe how fast these fuzzbutts of mine are growing.I wish I could bring them inside because they’re driving Mama Runt crazy. I can’t tho. I already have 6 inside & it’s not my house,so,I’ll have to try and figure out a way to give them alittle more freedom. Kinda hard tho. Right now the manager of our park is two doors down working on a home that was abandoned. Don’t need to have her seen kitties all over. There’s a 2 pet limit in the park.
Tiger had (and still sometimes has) a peeing problem. After taking him to the vet and ruling out a medical problem, I switched his litter to Dr. Eisley’s Cat Attract. He almost never goes out of the box now and when he does it’s usually because it needs cleaning. He’s very metro that way.
I found out a couple of weeks ago from a friend of mine who used to foster; that cats who have been declawed are notorious for having litter problems. It never occured to me. Both my cats were adopted by me as adults and coincidentlly had been declawed by previous owners but both of them have litter issues. Tiger with the peeing and Scratch will only poop on carpeting (she has a special bath mat in front of the litter box).
Guess I worry because Kittyman is up there in age (15) and he’s never done anything like this b4. It just really caught me by surprise. I have 3 boxes for 3 cats, I scoop AM and PM and always add fresh litter every time. I’ll be calling the vet to set up an appt. just to be safe……
Kittyman is lucky to have a mama who jumps on this sort of problem. I hope everything turns out OK.
Leeann – Almost every time any of my cats have not used the litter box is when they were sick, usually with a bladder or urinary tract infection. Socks would use my daughters room in the corner because she was scared of Whitey. If you haven’t changed the litter or the location of litter boxes I would get Kittyman to the vet. If Kittyman is having accidents becaouse he is stressed the vet can prescribe prozac or amytriptiline (spelling?). One of those usually works.
Not a funny situation at all, but on the FeLV chat group this has been an ongoing topic for a few weeks. There are so many reasons, but the most important thing to do is rule out a medical issue. I have to mimic all the advice you have received and say talk with you vet.

Thank you Debsterwiz, sent that one on to my husband, who is still ******off after getting a ticket over 6 years ago!
I just got a ticket first one in about 6 years, and I was doing eighty coming home from Kentucky……….in my defence everyone else was to i just have a nice car LOL………133 dollars
Ok if you want to start this….
A guy goes to the dental surgeon for some work on his teeth. Dr. gets a needle to give him a shot and the guy says “Oh, no, I can’t stand shots! Don’t you have something else?” So the Dr. gets the mask out to give him laughing gas and the guy says “Oh, no, I can’t stand a mask, I get claustrophobic! Anything else?”
The Dr. says “Can you take a pill?” The guy says yes, so the Dr. gives him a Viagra. The guy says “Wow, these pills can do a lot of things, but I didn’t know they were painkillers!” Dr. says “They’re not painkillers”. The guy says “Then why are you giving it to me?” Dr. says “It’ll give you something to hold onto when I pull your tooth!”
please people I just had surgery stop making me laugh. It hurts. just kidding it does hurt but to know your out there & living & loving makes it all worth the pain.
Love the expression on the face. I usually have a comment about that stuff but not today.
She is beautiful.
Just glad you’re well enough to laugh!
Take care!
Hear Hear! or is that Here Here? Well, which ever, glad to hear you’re still here!
Happy day Chester! Here’s to lasting longer than the pain! And to the pain meds, I hope you were prescribed some.
Glad you posted, Chester. Laughter is the best medicine but not when you’ve had your throat cut (on). 🙂 I hope you recover quickly from the surgery.
LMAO! 😆
Are you really, Sheba’s Mom? LMAO? I told Susan in Kennesaw this morning that if we could do that it would revolutionize the diet industry!
I was soooo not expecting that!
That’s why I have a radar dectector in my car. HA!
See the vet. The most common reason for Pee misses, it some type of Urinary tract infection, or irritation. Get it treated, clean all litterboxes with a very mild bleach solution, rinse well, and watch the other cats for symptoms. It’s contageous.
Thank you, I’m getting right on this…
A sweet misty gray baby. She may be naughty, but I do believe they all have that marvelous capacity at one time or another. 😛
My wee ones are wonderful. They have graduated from being blocked into a small corner of the room to 3/4 of the room. Actually last night at 11:30 little Bean decided to climb the deep dresser drawers that I was using to block them in. That a 4 week old, who could barely walk just last week, could maneuver that climb was awesome to watch, and with great tenacity he did over and over again. They are all doing the very funny side ways dance and I would give my eye teeth to own a video camera right now.
Today I am going to install a low sided litter box with kitten safe litter so Honey Bee can teach them the rudiments of bathroom hygiene. I am amazed that they are progressing so quickly now that they turned 4 weeks old.
Sorry for the long post, haven’t been doing much but lurking sporadically lately.
Update: Himmi is still being elusive. When I put the trap anywhere near the food he won’t eat. Three days without food and I had to move it. He is looking bad again and I am just praying that since I can’t seem to help him that God will be merciful and allow him a peaceful death. Another beautiful orange and white starving young cat came to eat last evening. Thank goodness he got there while there was still plenty of food. He ate it all and was looking for more. Hope he becomes a regular so I can get him.
Better shut up – Have a wonderful Thursday.
My goodness you have a lot of strays. Are you working with a program to catch/neuter/spay? Wonderful of you to look after our lost furry friends. Many purrs of gratitude for your efforts.
Yes! In the three years living here I have trapped and neutered 30+ cats & kittens. Some are outside ferals and 24 have been socialized and either live with me indoors or indoors with my son.
Would like to live long enough to see the day when there are no more abandoned excess throw aways. That’s the reason I am sometimes so vocal about Trap/Neuter/Return or neutering pets.
I know I’ve done some good, but not enough by a long shot. Would love to create a sanctuary and clinic but finding funds in this area is next to impossible. Still in planning phase though.
Elene,
One thing I’ve always wanted to do “when I win the lottery” is to build a cattery, or sanctuary, or animal farm of some kind. Maybe someday….
Yup-that would be my dream. I could see me now laying down in the middle of a field with my kitties …………
How much property would you need? Any prospects? Miracles happen all the time. Especially if You are available to take care of the cats.
I was thinking the same thing Mom to Tiga. But it would have to be a very large miracle. 😮
Try Kentucky Fried Chicken to bait your trap with. I had a momma cat that I tried to trap on 3 different occasions, and she kept not going in. I held off on feeding them for a day, so they were hungry, and used KFC in the trap, and she was caught in less than five minutes. 🙂 ANother thought is you could cover the trap with something, so it looks like a cardboard box instead of a big steel, scary thing.
I really appreciate the advice. If I did the KFC I would be trapping all the ferals that have already been to the vet. 😛 I have tried the camouflage, he just won’t eat unless bowl is out in open. I tried for 3 days and he didn’t eat, can’t do that or he will suffer to much. Like I said he is like smoke, very elusive, and not on a schedule of any kind. I am going to set the trap again this evening away from regular feeding station and see if the new arrival returns. He is so hungry that I think he would be easy to get.
–Elene– Have you watched to see if he’s marking anything w/his scent? If he’s marking a bush, clip a bit of it off,& put it around or under the trap. And cover the trap like Jennie suggested. If he smells his own scent around the trap,he might be more inclined to go in for the snack.
It’s worth a shot. Good luck
Or you could use a “trap” so big it’s effectively invisible. As mentioned elsewhere (below) I use a medium dog crate with a long piece of string attached to the door, then looped through the roof wire and back over to me, ten feet away. Sometimes it takes standing still for a looong time, but with yummy smelling food, eventually the cat will go in to eat — and then you pul fast and hard to slam the door behind him. The whole kennel can be lifted into a station wagon or van to take him to the vet, and it’s big enough to live in while recuperating.
Thanks, Elene, for all you do for ferals — I’ve only managed about a dozen neuters in three years, and even with subsidies it’s become unbearably expensive. Yesterday I visited three kittens found under a nearby bush, and discovered their mama has an injured leg — and I can’t do a thing, because I ‘already have my hands full with another litter and seven of my own (including four fosters that never found homes). So,
by all means go on and on and on about Spay/Neuter and Trap/Neuter/Return. We can’t say it often enough!
I like the idea of the string attached to crate. Tried that with one of my trap-shy pregnant ferals. Didn’t help and I now have her litter of 4 one year olds. Problem with Himmi is his not coming at any particular time of day and some days not at all.
I know what you mean about expenses. I find that basic shots, treatments and neutering cost approx. $75 each. I’m not the sophisticated, well dressed professional woman of 4 years ago, but the cats are worth it. Living on a disability income now and find that I don’t eat nearly as well as I should and have to shop for clothes at discount or Good Will stores. When I look in the mirror at the new me, before I get too upset, I look around at the healthy, happy cats.
Amazing that I still read about people wanting their cats to experience mating. I will never understand. When I only had one cat, and wasn’t cognizant of the feral problems, I still firmly believed in spay/neuter.
Hey, Jennie in R.C.! Welcome!
How sweet and wonderful kittens are! 🙂
It breaks my heart to see anything go hungry, my honey says it’s bred into me (I’m Italian). Once I broght a co-worker home for my daughter’s welcome home dinner after she had been in Korea for two years. When asked why I wanted him to come, my reply was, “He’s skinny!” and everyone that knows just understood.
find out asap could be a urinary infection which could spread and make kitty very sick!!
just playing fetch with Socks, my orange PK. Still no work yet.
🙂

I know it’s hard, but enjoy while you can. I’ll keep sending the good energy too!
Glad you still like to play, Thomas. Now that you’re so old and all…
Happy belated birthday!
Appropriately enough, the squirming and purring backpack first made its way to Northern Maine! I’ll trade cinnamon buns (gooey ones at that) for the location of the “unknown destination…”
Just close your eyes and and wish your way to the share circle. We have lots of goodies and one happy kitten getting all the attention.
See you made it. Have a seat and a latte.
Purrrrrrrrr…..
She looks like she just got into mischief and is using that “innocent kitten” look.. adorable! 🙂
With a look like that, I would give her anything she wants. That look is a sure way to get into one’s heart!
Lillianna looks totally puzzled by that camera her human is pointing at her. 🙂 She has the most beautiful hair. Love this baby.
hi everybody, thanx for the prayers and good wishes sent to me ,I’d like to send out some of the same to all that need them.lilli is so precious.
Good Morning to all – hope every two and four footer are feeling fine! Wow, Lillianna is beautiful – warning – if she climbs up legs now, small of back and then shoulder is next – our Siamese used to do this – a yell could be heard throughout the house and then my Dad would come through the kitchen door with a cat around his neck. The warning comes in if a cat which will end up heavy in weight learns this as a light little kitten and can’t stop the habit. Dad learned to quickly sit down when he first felt claws on the back of this leg – I think the two Siamese loved the small of the back grab which resulted in the yell – they were such lovely jokers.
The funniest thing I have ever seen a kitten do in all my life is take a flying leap from the back of a chair to cling desperately to a friend’s behind.
The funniest kitten incident I ever witnessed involved a tiny orange-and-cream longhair I had in high school. I called her “Rakki,” short for Rascal. When I got her, it was summertime, and the kerosene stove in our living room was not in use. One day, after winter had come and the stove was fired up, I saw (from across the room) Rakki on her hind legs sizing up the leap to the metal top. I cried out “Rakki, don’t do it!” Sure enough, she did it. She stood still on top of the stove for what must have been half a second (it seemed longer), then she literally did a tap dance with her claws (I could hear the tappa-tap-tap) on top of the stove, then leapt diagonally across the room without crouching! When she landed, she kept licking her paw pads, then pausing to look at me as if to say “you tried to warn me, didn’t you?”
She never ventured near that stove again, regardless of season!
We have a wood burning stove in our family room downstairs, and I couldnt’t stop my Phaedra from jumping onto it, but I swear she was on and up and off in a nanosecond…none of the others have tried — to my knowledge. Maybe she warned them!
My Bug will come up behind me and set all 8 claws in my bum, when I have my hands full of anything but him. He likes to ride on my sholder and if I can’t pick him up he makes sure I know how unhappy he is about it.
What a fuzzy wuzzy!!! Snuggles and hugs Lillianna, gently replaces to watch her scurry around and the kitten dance is something else, mentioned as a sideways pounce is so cute. Glad to see so many people checking in. I invited a very nice lady from Conneticut to check out the site and join us. Wish her much support and kittie whisker tickles….
Hope your enjoying the kitties this week Alex, look forward to the occasional post Dad lets you have. But earn the priviledge and trust for internet time. Wishing much kitty snuggles to you.
:))
Lilliana is a doll! Love the expression.
I have a question wondered what you guys thought.
I have been feeding some feral cats behind my work place.
They live in a abandoned garage. One of the mamma cats has a litter of 3 kittens that look to be about 3 weeks old.
Today is the first day I have seen them but noticed that she had them laying out in the grass and not hidden away. I did not see her around anywhere. I noticed that their eyes were matted together and one could not even open his eyes. Would it be normal for her to have them out and exposed like that? When my Leggs had her babies she always wanted to keep them hidden. I noticed the other momma cat that I feed keeps her babies hidden but they are much older. Thought about trying to catch the momma’s once the babies are old enough to be weaned and have spayed. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
These babies might need help.. can you get near them and get them to a vet? How about the ma ma? Getting them all spayed and adopted if possible would be nice..
Good luck.
If she’ll let you get close, you may well need to get those kits some help.
Grab the kittens and get their eyes cleaned up. They can go blind so fast it will break your heart. And no, it’s not normal to leave them in the middle of the lawn. She may be hurt or ill herself, and/or she may actually be asking you for help.
The kittens are old enough to be hand fed, using Kitten Milk Replacement (it’s like miracle-gro for young kittens), and intervening now could save their lives. Once the vet has checked their eyes, you can use the kittens as “bait” to catch Momcat —
I use a medium dog kennel with a long string attached to the door then looped through the roof, so I can stand ten feet away and close the door when the momcat goes in to eat or see her babies.
Right now I’m working with a momcat (neutered soon after capture) who willingly re-enters the cage every night to sleep with her now 8 week old kittens, then leaves every morning to spend the day nearby but not cooped up. (That’s a first!)
If you don’t think you have a place to keep the kittens once caught, consider the bathroom. Just keep the lid down, and make sure the ventilation is adequate so humidity doesn’t give them chills. And put ad ad in the paper the minute you catch them! Good luck.
Thanks for the advice. As I type I have babies wrapped in a towel in a small box to help keep them warm. I found a lady who takes baby kittens who have been abandoned or need help. She is suppose to come by and pick up the little ones within the hour. If I had not been able to find someone I would have taken them home but since I have 5 cats and my husband was not to crazy about me bringing 3 more home this was the best option. At least they will be taken care of and hopefully find good homes. Still have not seen the momma cat so not sure what happened to her. Will keep looking for her and hopefully she will return.
Thanks again for your help.
You saved their lives.
Get them vet care. I hate to sound like a broken record but ferals can have illnesses that can spread like wildfire. And if the mom had it the kittens can to. FeLV and FIV are nothing to ignore. Find out and then treating them can be much easier.
“… and I come from Lilliana with a banjo on my knee.”
She is asking to dance!
What a purty name.
I don’t post much but lurk daily. I love the hilarious jokes and couldn’t resist throwing one in–
The Sheriff in a small town walks out in the street and sees a blonde cowboy coming down the walk with nothing on but his cowboy hat, gun, and his boots, so he arrests him for indecent exposure. As he is locking him up, the sheriff asks, “Why in the world are you dressed like this?”
The cowboy says, “Well, it’s like this Sheriff…I was in the bar down the road and this pretty little redhead asks me to go out to her motorhome with her. So I did…We go inside and she pulls off her top and asks me to pull off my shirt…so I did…Then she pulls off her skirt and asks me to pull off my pants…so I did. The she pulls off her undies and asks me to pull off mine…so I did. Then she looks at me kinda sexy and says, “Now, go to town Cowboy…” And here I am.
Son of a gun, blonde men do exist!
BTW…purrayers and headbonks to all those in need!
–Very funny– An end I wasn’t expecting.
*here comes the Bandit*
Did you check them out yesterday??
I posted three knee slappers………………enjoy
As my pop used to say, “laughing is better than crying”
–debsterwiz in PA–Did you get a look at CatRancher’s material? She was a riot. 😆
That kitten is a celestially dreamy little mist of a creature. I love grey cats so much, maybe someday I’ll luck onto one. Enjoy your baby…love her always!
What a little cutie we have today. Wonder what she is so puzzled about? I have good news. Danni (the terrified 6 week old kitten I am fostering) is getting much better. Her expression has changed from terrifed to slightly worried. She has been coming out to play and pouncing on my fingers. Last night I was dragging a toy around and dragged it onto my lap. She went after it and played in my lap for awhile. She started to slip (I was sitting “indian style”) and I put my hand under her butt so she wouldn’t fall. She started to yawn and laid her head down on my other hand. I held her, asleep, cradled in my hands for over an hour. Considering I was sitting indian style on the bathroom floor, am 46 years old with arthritis in my knees and neck, I am very stiff today. It is so worth it 🙂 She came and jumped up on my leg this morning when I took their breakfast to them. Soon she will be ready for a forever home. Yes!
What wonderful news!
Isn’t it amazing what we do to our poor aging bodies for the sake of these furrbabies. 🙂 I am so happy that Danni is becoming socialized. So rewarding when you finally save them with love and patience (and achy bodies).
HEY! do you remember me? Well, my cat star is giving birth! I told yall a long time ago-bi! 🙂 🙂 🙂
YEA! HI ALEX!!! Thanks for letting us know, I have been wondering how your mama kitty is doing. 😀
Alex I am glad you were allowed to let us know that the kittens were here. Wonderful news! Enjoy them and love them!
Of course we remember you, Alex. Your friend Rosie on this website has been writing to you almost every day and so have many of the rest of us. If your Dad says its OK, check what we’ve been writing ever since you had to stop writing to us.
Yea for Star! I hope she has an easy time giving birth. I know her kittens will be cute. Have fun watching them grow. 🙂
Hi Alex!!!
What happy news! Those kittens will be so much fun and you will get to see Star being a proud mommy!
If you can post again, tell us about the kittens.
Alex, what a wonderful experience you are having! Thank you so much for sharing. I hope dad knows.
R ya gonna give mez uh cuddle?
Lilliana is adorable! She can come be naughty at my house anytime.
Here’s a laugh: Google has just rolled out a new product called StreetView, which allows you to see street-level reality and move around (it’s a captured image, not realtime). Already, one woman is freaked out because it caught an image of her tabby sleeping on a perch in her apartment window:
Google Maps is spying on my cat
http://www.boingboing.net/2007/05/30/google_maps_is_spyin.html
Lots more links at that URL — and before anybody else freaks out, realize that in many cities, its been possible for years to go to the tax assessor’s website and see a photo of anyone’s house, often with the car parked in the drive and the license clearly visible. This is just not a big deal. Just enjoy!
Big Brother is watching you! Orwell was only a couple of decades off. 😮
Liliana is sooo beautiful! Here goes my heart, melting..
Hey, it’s the final voting day, and Redford is now at 1018 votes! He is number 6 in the top ten! Not bad considering he only started 2 weeks ago and the others have had a full 30 days! Thanks so much for your help–ice cream sundaes for all with hot fudge and whipped cream!
http://www.arcamax.com/catsanddogs/galpic-26901
I have voted as much as allowed each day. Not cheating, just casting votes for all my furrbabies, friends and family.
Well I’m cheating, but I voted too 🙂
He’s now up to 1078, Rainingwolf!!! I have voted for Redford everyday now. He is such a beautiful baby. Way to go Redford!
Speaking of beautiful baby’s, Lillianna is one beautiful little girl. What a sweet face! I just want to snuggle her. I love her color, too.
HEY! do you remember me? Well, my cat star is giving birth! I told yall a long time ago-bi!
–Hello Alex– Very nice to hear from you. I’ll bet you’ll be a great helper to star w/her new babies. Let us know what they look like, okay?
What a great summer-break present
mew,mew,mew 😛
How is your Grandfather today? Did you get the chance to visit? I am praying for healing and peace for the both of you.
Thank you so much. He is improving. I will post an update when today’s kitten comes up.
1116! Ooooh! Hot fudge sundaes! 😆
–Rainingwolf–1210 votes as of a minute ago. Congradulations. He’s a pretty boy.
Don’t worry little one–you are with people who love you!
What is that thing? *prepares to jump*

Lilliana: Where am I? Who am I? What’s happening?
(sweet)
I got my 1st job as a teenager so I could get my cats “fixed” .Got my 1st love at 16 and he lasted me 21 years.

Aren’t kittens just the cutest little fuzz-buckets you’ve ever seen? And Lillianna is another example of GOD sharing the cuteness of Heaven with all of us.
A buddy of mine had a Maine Coon years ago. I know they’re big, but this cat — his name escapes me — was huge.
“Y’all take care, and don’t fur-git to clean your paws before — and after dinner.” — The CatWrangler from Louisiana
PS — Shouldn’t Lillianna come from Louisiana?
The Garfield comic today was me except the legs part. Got nice legs but the rest of me needs work.
My principal sent this one…now you know why I love where I work and won’t leave, even though I could make a good $8-10K more in neighboring districts!
A lot of folks can’t understand how we came to have an oil shortage here in our country.
~~~
Well, there’s a very simple answer.
~~~
Nobody bothered to check the oil.
~~~
We just didn’t know we were getting low.
~~~
The reason for that is purely geographical.
~~~
Our OIL is located in
~~~
ALASKA
~~~
California
~~~
Coastal Florida
~~~
Coastal Louisiana
~~~
Kansas
~~~
Oklahoma
~~~
Pennsylvania
and
Texas

Any Questions ???
NO? I didn’t Think So.
OMG! You have me cracking up, Ginny! I’m so glad this site is blocked at work or I’d be out of a job. I would never get any work done…
An article about our pampered pets. If you choose to read the whole article, it’s kind of long, but interesting and funny too.

Very good article. Interesting info regarding the difference between being a pack animal (dogs) and not (cats).
Kittenmaster (if you’re insomniac now),
My posts aren’t there all of a sudden. Was it something I said? 😕
😥 Or as Sally would say when she’s been put on the screen porch: “ME-YOW!! ME-YOW!!! ME-YOW!!!”
Sometimes the system thinks comments are spam when they’re not, especially if they have strange formating (like your previous comment). It’s online now.

What a beautiful kitten. All the kittens on your site are lovely.
HEY! do you remember me? Well, my cat star is giving birth! I told yall a long time ago-bi! 🙂
Alex, how terrific! Maybe you can post pictures!
Notes: MAY 4, 2007
These incredible beauties were rescued in Perto Vallarta, Mexico. It is a terrific story.
A retired gentleman spends half a year in Mexico every year. He owns a house in Puerto Vallarta. He discovered a colony of around 300 cats living on the island off the coast of Puerto Vallarta and decided to rescue, adopt, spay and neuter them. He holds adoptions every other Saturday and has managed to adopt out most of them. A rescuer was vacationing there and she and her husband met this wonderful man and offered to help. Soooooo, long story even longer, what happens is this: Ken has the kittens and young adults living in his condo. He neuters the males, has them tested for aids and leukemia, gives them their vaccines and then buys them an airline ticket to Los Angeles. He tries to find tourists that are coming home to “Sponsor” them on the flight and then then go on as carry on baggage. Then we pick them up at the airport on this end.
So that said, I took these two beauties in on April 11th, and they are now ready to be adopted. They are sweet and a little shy, but very loving. A week in a bathroom to help them acclimate, and they should be good as gold. Puerto, the boy, rolls over on his back for tummy rubs. Vallarta forgets that love is good but once you start petting her she cannot purr loud enough. These two will make terrific companions.
We are a small rescue run solely by volunteers and rely on donations alone to survive. All major medical and emergency care comes out of our own pockets. We never put an animal down because of cost, no matter how high. Every fur baby deserves a chance at a better life. If you cannot adopt, please consider a small donation to help keep us going!!!

Thanks!
Friends decided to adopt a kitten. They went to choose from the kittens that were found abandoned and have been in foster care for the past week. They decided they just couldn’t split the two up so they took them both! Brother and sister will stay together. It was so difficult–the boy was a tuxedo (grey and white) and I had wanted to adopt him. Impossible though with Basil’s status. Teaser is supposed to be tested in June. Part of me wants to see another negative test but then again no matter the outcome we will still keep them as we have been. Mixing is possible but there are risks. Hate FeLV. But the real news is the fact that two kittens have a loving forever home! YEAH!
Congratulations Sox’s Mom!

hi TDKer, now that eveyone’s gone home. it’s only seven here, watching baseball ( sea & tex ) and bball playoffs ( cavs & pistons ).
happy friday eve. 😎
I found this at another forum and 😥 I wanted to share it. By the way, Kleenex warning! Big time!
This was sent to me by my DD from a friend:
As a Company, Southwest Airlines is going to support “Red Fridays.”
Last week I was in Atlanta, Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen.
Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. Â As they began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering. When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and cheered for, it hit me. I’m not alone. I’m not the only red-blooded American who still love s this country and supports our troops and their families.
Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal. Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our service men and women, a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old, ran up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down and said “hi.” Â The little girl then asked him if he would give something to her daddy for her. The young soldier, who didn’t look any older than maybe 22 himself, said he would try and what did she want to give to her daddy. Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.
The mother of the little girl, who said her daughter’s name was Courtney , told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had been in Iraq for 11 mo nths now. As the mom was explaining how much her daughter Courtney missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up. When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second. Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military-looking walkie-talkie. They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it.
After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to
Courtney , bent down and said this to her, “I spoke to your daddy and he
told me to give this to you.” He then hugged this little girl that he had
just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying “your
daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is
coming home very soon.”
The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young
soldier stood to his feet, he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was standing
no more than 6 feet away from this entire event. As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around, there were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in one last act of selflessness, turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek.
We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it’s good to be an American.
RED FRIDAYS —– Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red
every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be
called the “silent majority”. We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing. We get no liberal media coverage on TV, to reflect our message or our opinions. Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops.
Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday -and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that.. Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear something red. By word of mouth, press, TV — let’s make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers.
If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once “silent” majority is on their side more than ever; certainly more than the media lets on.
The first thing a soldier says when asked “What can we do to make things
better for you?” is…We need your support and your prayers.
Let’s get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and wear something red every Friday.
Â
WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, ONLY BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE.
THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED —- SO WEAR RED ! — MAY GOD HELP AMERICA TO BECOME ONE NATION, UNDER GOD
Heidi
God, Heidi, that is a tear-jerker. I may live in the UK, but I am an American citizen, and while I don’t like the war I DO support our troops over there and am thankful for the peril they put themselves in for all of us. I WILL wear red today, even though no one here will have a clue what it means. Thanks for that uplifting story!
Judi
I will too
Wooo Hoo. I had a Maine Coone here in Abilene too. He was sweet and the a dear love. We make up great in Abilene. Got to love them.

628 sickened by recalled peanut butter
“OMAHA, Neb. – The number of people sickened since August by peanut butter tainted with salmonella has grown by more than 200, according to a new federal report. The outbreak, first reported in February, now includes 628 cases in 47 states, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday. Wal-Mart has continued selling Great Value peanut butter — its store brand — that is made by different suppliers, but Peter Pan has yet to return to stores.”

Some more regulatory news about Chinese exports.
By ALEXA OLESEN, Associated Press Writer
Fri Jun 1, 3:56 AM ET
“A slew of Chinese exports have recently been banned or turned away by U.S. inspectors including, wheat gluten tainted with the chemical melamine that has been blamed for dog and cat deaths in North America, monkfish that turned out to be toxic pufferfish, drug-laced frozen eel, and juice made with unsafe color additives.
On Tuesday, a Beijing court sentenced to death the former director of China’s food and drug administration, for taking bribes in cash and gifts worth more than $832,000 in return for allowing eight companies to get around drug approval rules.
State media have reported that drugs improperly approved by Zheng’s agency included an antibiotic that killed at least 10 patients last year before it was taken off the market.”
