What a cheeky little muffin! He demands attention.
What a wonderful description “cheeky little muffin.” Thank you
AWWWWWWW,
he is adorable.
That Face!!! How could anyone resist?:)
He is sooo adorable and cute!!!
I love kittens!!!
What a sweetie! Look at those ears!
squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!
So cute!!!
Super cute
Oh, my! What a cutey! Where’s Gretel?
Actually, that’s probably what he’s yelling … ‘Gretel! Where are you?’
We kept Gretel too. She is a little black and white kitten. They get along quite nicely. Hansel and Gretel have been neutered and spayed so we won’t have any more little ones. My son Michael took the pictures and will be bringing home more pictures he took when he comes home over semester break from college. I will submit Gretel’s pictures then.
Fairy tale FUZZ!
I think he’s crying because he ate all the breadcrumbs.
Beetlebaby!
ahhhhh – how precious!! He looks like he’s crying – wants his sister. How sweet – so glad you found them!!
Oh my, what a face! I just want to scoop him up and keep him!
FAIRY TALE FUZZ!
I think he’s saying, “Where’s my GUSHYFOOD?”
What’s “gushyfood?”
Belated, but it’s wet cat food — from http://www.twolumps.com. It’s a great cat comic. 🙂
Already quite the fierce little tiger, isn’t he? Did you keep Gretel, too?
why do you ask these kinds of things
they are so personal
just kidding
were is that cute handsome hansel
i want to hold him
Mama!! What are you doing??? Pick me up, pick me up pleeease..Love me, hold me, kissssse me……..Sorry I think I lost my mind for a second.Cute overload 🙂
He’s so cute. Looking at the kittens, though, makes me miss mine, Chica, who died last week.
Catherine-Sorry to hear about your loss. We will be sending comforting thoughts your way.
I’m sorry to hear of your loss, Catherine. I’m sending warm and comforting thoughts your way! Bless you and Chica…you will be reunited at the Rainbow Bridge one day…
I will remember you and your special little love in my prayers.
Catherine—I’m re-posting this link—It’s the Rainbows Bridge site. Each Monday evening, a candle is lit in honor of your departed pet…it’s a beautiful site. (Losing a beloved pet is so very sad—all of here can empathize—take care…)

Yea Dee! You have come out of lurking mode? Been a bad week or just a busy one?
Hello Dee! Glad to see you here– how ya been?
Hey, Dee, welcome back! Where’ve you been! All is well is well, I hope. Good to see you again.
My thoughts and prayers are with you in the loss of your beloved Chica. God Bless.
I am sorry to hear about your loss Catherine. You might want to check out Rainbow Bridge.com where you can post a picture and more about your wonderful furry friend.
Sorry, to hear about the loss of your cat, Chica.
He is absolutely adorable!!!! Bet his sister is just as precious. Is he yelling for another treat? Bless you for taking them in.
Have a great day everyone and stay warm!!
that is the most cutest kitten iv ever seen “BLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
very cute kitten.
*Trying* to stay warm, Teresa! But the temperatures are plummeting and a major snow storm is on its way! Gotta love winter in Iowa. ;-o It’ll be temps in the 20’s for highs and in the single digits for lows by Saturday… My furr babies will keep me warm!
That’s what I’m doing today, A pair of Siamese on my lap and a warm drink by my side. The entire OKC area is shut down due to weather. This snow storm is a doozy.
Meezermama — how much snow are you supposed to get? They are vacillating between 3-6 and 6-10 or more, depending on how the storm tracks. We missed the ice storm, but are supposed to be hit with phas2 “2” tonight through to tomorrow morning!
We ended up getting about a foot. I’ll post some pics on webshots and send you guys a link
Don’t mean to rub it in, CatRancher, but it is 12:49 pm and 83 degrees and sunny in Tampa. (But, having grown up in Michigan, I love a good snow storm—very romantic!)
AARRGGG! Enjoy the warmth for me! It’s only romantic when it snows if A) it 10+ inches and blizzarding so you don’t have to go to work, and B) I have good munchies and a bottle or two of my favorite Merlot or red zin, C) we have firewood for our wood-burning stove! I’m head to the store tonight for some B) and my husband is bringing C) firewood. Now I pray for A)!
aye too adorable!!! Catherine I am sorry for your loss:(
Hansel is soooo very handsome! Love his little floppy ears and his “party-mix” coloring!
Where’s Gretel? FUZZ
Volkswagen spokesmodel FUZZ
Sorry for your loss, Catherine. :/
Someone abandoned a Volkswagen?! (I met my husband over a VW, thats why my cats are named Bug and Kombie) That baby is cute as a “Bug” and he has such big feet too! He’s gona be a talker I bet!
Catherine I too am sorry for your loss, no words can make you feel better I know, but also know we are all thinking of you, and keeping you in our (respective religous ritual here)! I personally will be sending comforting energy your way.
Someone abandoned a Volkswagen?! – that was my first thought, too! We’ve taken in 3 homeless VW’s and given them a good life (one went a year ago, aged 17). Hope somebody saved the VW as well as the kittens.
Catherine, how sad it always is to lose a cat. You will never forget or replace Chica, but I hope that sometime in the future there will be other wonderful cats in your life. All the best.
Volkswagen people are special!!
You bet! My favorite car was my 71 BRIGHT ORANGE Super Beetle — named “Beatrice” After many “mistakes” I bought a Jetta last year (it’s a stick, too!) and I love it!
My neighbors daughter has a 71 bright orange super beetle, too! We call it ‘Dot’.
I’m a Transporter Chick- all mine have been vans. My last one-Sunshine- was bright orange. I am sans VW now and jonesin’ for a Camper.
my first car was a 59 bug. i loved it, but it was 25 years old when i got it and needed so much work. i had to sell it because i could not afford everything at 16 years old, but it was a fun car for the year that i had it
I had a 2000 Jetta, stick, loved it. My husband insisted, however, gettting a huge Expedition after our daughter was born for safety’s sake. I still miss my Jetta. 🙁
The Jettas now have one of the best safety ratings for a car its size! side airbags are standard. but I understand about wanting “more car” between your children and bad drivers…
This is Dave. The VW was a 69 or 70 type 3, squareback (stationwagon). The car is a total loss due to execessive rust, the entire floorpan fell out of the car, seats and all, when I tried to load it on a trailer. That is how the kittens were found. I do have a 64 type 2, “Split window microbus” which I believe at birth was a hard top camper, now just a empty shell. I am in the process of restoring it to running condition and will put some type of interior in it but not sure what yet. I dated my wife in a green 73 superbeetle. Enjoyed hearing from another VW fan.
VWs rule….my 26 year old daughter ALMOST bought an old VW bus…it was so cool, but too rusty and she didn’t have the money to restore it. We live in the midwest and our autos will rust out from winter road salt before the engine quits…we don’t see a lot of old VWs around unless they’ve been stored. VW’s make me long for the old days. The 2005.5 Jetta hardly takes me back, but it is FUN to drive and with standard tranny gives me more feel for the road, if you know what I mean!
I am Hansel hear me roar. What a fierce little monkey. His ears look a little bit like a Scotish fold.
I looked at Hansel’s picture again the person snapping the photo had to on the floor too. He is probably saying, Wasssuppp?
HAHA You’re right if you look at it again and think Wasssupp, it really looks like that is what he’s saying-Funny Fuzz
Look at that bobble head. What a cutie!
Hansel is a cutie pie !!
I am a lion trapped in a kittens body. Hear me roar! What a cutie!
Catherine I am so sorry for your loss. Sending prayers your way!
Was the volkswagon covered with yummy candy? Is there a witch in the glove compartment? p.s. sorry about Chica.
INNER STRENGTH
If you can start the day without caffeine or pep pills,
If you can be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains,
If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles,
If you can eat the same food everyday and be grateful for it,
If you can understand when loved ones are too busy to give you time,
If you can overlook when people take things out on you when,
through no fault of yours, something goes wrong,
If you can take criticism and blame without resentment,
If you can face the world without lies and deceit,
If you can conquer tension without medical help,
If you can relax without liquor,
If you can sleep without the aid of drugs,
Then . . . . . . you are probably a cat.
This is for Dee, we miss you! Hope you are well.
Yes. Some catitude to adopt and live by.
Everything I need to know, I’ve learned from my cat.
Miss ya Dee.
Cats are an inspiration for us all…
Hello, Dee? Hope you are doing well and just taking a day or two off…we miss you! Give us a hollar if you are able!
I hope you are well, Dee Purrs to you.
You guys are all so cute! I’ll never need one of those “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” buttons with you guys around…haha! I’ve just had a bad cold for a few days…have not done too much. Thanks so much for caring!
Kittenmaster deleted the nasty comment made under your name yesterday about how to cook a cat. Even with a cold a high on Nyquil you could not be that nasty.
OMG—I was not even aware. Have not been on-line at all for 2 days. Well, Kittenmaster can tell were all of the posts emanate. I hope no one thought for a second that I posted that!
Hi Dee! Glad you are back. Sorry to hear you’ve been sick. I knew you couldn’t have posted that awful comment yesterday. I know you love cats too much and wouldn’t say such a thing. I couldn’t even read all of it. At first glance, I said, oh, something from Dee, until I read the first bit of it. Alot of us came to your defense. Hope you get to feeling better. I consider you one of my cyber friends!
Thanks, Renee! And thanks to everyone who came to my defense! I wonder if the Kittenmaster can block future posts from someone like that….
It’s difficult to block people accurately, but I do read every comment made, and will always delete where appropriate. Sometimes I can be a little slow, however – like when I’m asleep – so sometimes nasty comments will sit around for longer than any of us would like…
Kittenmaster-Thanks for cleaning up yesterday’s ugliness. Unfortunately it’s something that has to be done. All of your efforts are much appreciated.
Dee……. I didn’t see it, but would’ve known that it wasn’t you…nasty trolls come out from under their bridges from time to time and the KITTENMASTER will chase them away! Thanks to the master!
I agree with Teresa in CA. THANKS KITTENMASTER.
Thank you KittenMaster for deleting the posting. I read the first line and stopped reading it. What a disgusting human being. As they say, what comes around goes around and his kharma is definitely going to come back twice as bad for his horrible posting.
HAHAHAHA! I was thinking that when I was reading. How funny, I’m passing this on to my email buddies!
Hi Evangeline, I liked your cat quotes. I must be a cat because I live by most of those rules. We can take lessons from our cats!
Gosh, I must TRY to be more cat-like!
Big applause for your big paws, Hansel!
Catherine, I’m so sorry – I hope a trail of breadcrumbs lead you to another kitteh, soon.
VeeDub Fuzz
What a cutie, but I think I see some calico coloring. Are you sure this one is a he. Whatever the gender, this is a pair of very lucky fuzzys to have been found by by someone who can love them. Catherine, I’m sorry for your loss. When the time is right you’ll be able to love another sweet and cute fuzzy.
I used to work for an old vet who said it was easy to tell the sex of a kitten….Boys are periods “.” and girls are commas “,”
Rosie….that’s how I used to “sex” my kittens… look for a “:” BOY or a “;” GIRL! Too funny. You can use the “dot” method when they are very young, then it gets a little blurrier until you can see um….bumps….
Yes, he is for sure a he. He is already 6 months old now.
MEW! MEW! Hansel is adorable! I want to see a picture of Gretel as well!
All I can say is “RRRoooooaaarrr” lol
There was a sickening case of cat abuse in Tampa 2 days ago—perpetrated in a quiet tree-lined community by a man who does not have any semblance of a criminal past. I know that many of you have outdoor cats or indoor/outdoor cats, and at the risk of anyone getting angry with me for saying this, please re-think your position. There are horrible people out there who hate and torture animals. This incident happened about 10 miles away from my home….
http://www.tboblogs.com/index.php/newswire/story/cats-burned-by-propane-torch/
And, of course, the trash that killed the 3 cats has bonded out of jail. The following comment was posted by Skeeter’s mom. She has included her email address…
http://www.tboforums.com/index.php/forums/viewthread/160/
Oh Dee, my heart is breaking for those people who lost their cats in such a horrible fashion. I emailed skeeter’s mother and have invited her to “come” here with us if she needs the comfort that we all can provide. Unfortunately our justice system does not provide for adequate punsihments of such monsterous acts.
ppearson, you have such a kind heart! I hope Skeeter’s mom visits with us. After reading her post, it made me very angry to realize that his live-in girlfriend was aware of all of this and may even be a schoolteacher! How can friends/family of animal torturers be aware of this and keep it all a “secret?” She should be culpable for this horrific cruelty, as well. A necropsy is being performed on the 3 cats, and as the article stated, “evidence of torture could lead to more charges.” Torching and drowning them was not considered torture?? Looking at little Skeeter’s photo was heartbreaking. He could have easily been today’s kitten on this site…
Anyone who would like to join me, please pay your respects (in any way that you would like) to those 3 family pets who were horribly killed late Monday night while you and I (and all of our pets) were sleeping….
That is just horrible, Dee. I can’t even get my mind around such a despicable act. Those who kill and torture animals are socio/psychopaths and if he is just 30 as the news article states, he certainly has time to escalate to humans if he hasn’t already. Keep your loved ones, furr or human, SAFE, always under a watchful, caring eye. There are monsters out there!
From the story about the cats, there was a link to a guy that abandoned four dogs in cages sometime in late September… they were found because a neighbor complained of the odor. Three died, but one was saved.
Hansel is a cutie.. and oh so very fierce!!
HV—that was another heart-breaking story! You would think that the owners of the show dogs would check up on their pets once in a blue moon. I am shocked that one dog made it…so far…
Just checked out the story…broke my heart. I would DIE if anything happened to my 2 dogs or 2 cats. He should not have been realeased on bond. Someone should douse him with gasoline and blowtorch him-lets see how he likes it.
What a horrible story! I too emailed Skeeter’s mom and told her people like that aren’t even human. How can you be a human and not have empathy? And you are right they should visit his sins upon him and “help” him understand the pain and suffering he caused with a dose of his own medicine!!!! GRRRRR what a @#$%&*!!
I emailed her, as well. I would be livid having to see the creature that tortured and killed my cat everyday. She posted his address…(I almost feel like going over there….)
too dangerous!
Ein Kätzchen! Toll!
What does this mean in English?
On a lighter note—this Mutts comic is adorable…
http://muttscomics.com/art/dailyarchive.asp?month=11&date=15&year=2006
Dee, I signed up for the Mutts comic when you recommened it but it is strange. I am now today 12/1 receiving the comic for 11/17. So when you say how cute it is on a certain day I have to wait two weeks before I get it.
Hansel is just the cutest little boy! Did you keep his sister and will we see her on here? Best of luck with your new baby.
I love mid meow shots 🙂 So very cute
Cool, free Christmas Card at Walmart.com…
http://walmart.triaddigital.com/enhancedrendercontent_ektid8886.aspx
Welcome back Dee- did you know that WalMart, in their infinite wisdom (sarcasm off) has decided to stop doing layaway altogether? Oh well, at least we still have KMart, but the quality isn’t as good.
BTW, Toy is being fostered by another family member until Mom is better.
T
CatRancher—(and anyone else)—did you see “Medium” last night? I love those plot twists!
Yes I did…had me fooled, almost, there was too much time left in the show after he was arrested, though, so I thought something may still be “afoot”!
Dee, I love that show! It’s my favorite! I didn’t watch last nights yet-have it on tape. Past my bedtime at 10! I will watch it tonight. I hope she gets this guy good!
I will be off tomorrow, so everyone have a good weekend. Stay safe in the storms and kiss your babys each day.
Lynn—CatRancher and I have a crush on the husband on the show. I love the way he treats his wife and their children with such quiet calmness and tenderness…
I hear ya! Joe is very sweet and kind. From what I’ve read, he really is that way in real life. Takes a special man to deal with his family. Allison is very lucky. Love that feisty Bridget and Arielle, too. Gotta run, time to go. See ya later.
Hello Dee,
So glad to have you back. Kinda been under the weather myself. When you described that guyn on the show you have described me. Not a yeller or fusser. Calm cool & collected. I believe in the theory that you attract more flies with honey than vinegar. I guess it comes from my back ground of talking people out of suicide. So glad to be able to be back on here again. Keep those pics coming. They can be the best therapy for someone a little down.
Chester

Maybe the best kitten names ever!! How adorable, Hansel and Gretel!! Too cute.
Looks like he’s saying “Mommy! I want some LOVES!!”
Did anyone see Conan O’Brien last night? (I’m a terrible sleeper and up half the night!) It was hysterical! He was cracking me up when he was making egg nog, roasting chestnuts and decorating a Christmas tree with Martha Stewart!
I can imagine! I saw her on his show a few years ago, and he got her to drink several shots of Jack Daniels and eat a huge burger in about 3 bites – very un-Martha-like. It was hilarious
I saw that one, too! I love Conan. And, a few years ago, David Letterman made her eat a burrito from Taco Bell. She is always a good sport when they tease her.
Here is a lovely tiger cub, but he looks frightened. Hope the leg is better soon… http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/in_pictures/6159413.stm
What a beautiful animal! I hope he is not in pain.
Too true. A beautiful animal. Looks scared though. Even that breaks my heart, but I worked for S A Zoo and I know the tiger will have a quiet place to recover and plenty of vittles and care.
What an innocent little baby meower! Oh, I’m so glad those precious kittens were rescued! What kind of monster would abandon them? Poor little creatures, but so lucky to have found a good home.
Beautiful tear-jerker coming up….

The Christmas Cat
I still wasn’t dating much, although I had recently met a woman whom I found very attractive. She was a mutual friend of some of my friends, and everyone we knew thought that we would make the perfect couple.
Our friends soon started trying to draw us together. They would invite both of us to social functions and attempt to get us to talk to each other. I, of course, vehemently resisted these matchmaking efforts. I was still too leery of pursuing any long-term relationships since my marriage had been a disaster.
One night, I found myself thinking about this woman. I had resisting getting together with her for almost a year now, and I was finally seriously thinking about asking her on a date. I somehow knew that we would get along.
As I was sitting on the sofa watching television one evening, I couldn’t get her out of my mind. Buddy the cat was lying on my lap, as usual, and Wild Thing, his feral friend, was hiding under her chair, as usual.
For some reason, I looked at Buddy and asked him if he would like to meet a lovely lady acquaintance of mine. I started telling him all about her.
He seemed very interested, and he looked at me as if to say, “Why don’t you give it a try? Maybe she’s even a ‘cat-person’ and I’ll like her, too?†Even Wild Thing poked her cute little head out from under her chair, as if she were in agreement with Buddy.
I looked at my two little feline friends and told them that I would, indeed, attempt to pursue a relationship with this lady. I also made a mental note: You had better start getting out more. You are spending way too much time in this basement apartment talking to your two cats!
Well, I did go on a date with my new lady friend, and we hit it off right away. She was divorced like me. And, best of all, she was an ‘animal person.’ I soon learned that an automobile accident had tragically killed her dog, and her beloved cat had recently died of old age. I was really beginning to fall for this woman.
Before long, Rebecca and I were seeing more and more of each other. We made a date to spend Christmas Eve together and I was determined to get her just the right gift.
After pondering it over in my mind, I decided that a new kitten would make the ideal holiday present for her since she had lost her beloved cat and missed it tremendously.
Four days before Christmas, I set out to find the perfect kitten. I searched throughout the entire city. I searched high and low.
I finally found him at a local animal shelter on Christmas Eve.
He was white, tiny, and extremely cute and cuddly. He was surrounded by his four siblings in a small cage. The other four kittens were jumping about, meowing, and vying for anyone’s attention who might wander by.
He was fast asleep, face down, in the litter box, oblivious to all the noise and pandemonium around him. I had to admire a character like that. I also had to have him. I knew he would make the perfect Christmas present for my new love.
Unfortunately, everyone else in that shelter that day was also looking for cute cuddly kittens to give as Christmas presents. Before long, every kitten in the place, except for my preferred choice, was gone.
I had to bicker with an old woman over this last kitten, and she and I were both determined to get him. But I cranked up the old charm. I found that I still had a little left.
I patiently explained to this dear old woman that I desperately wanted this kitten as a Christmas present for my new lady friend. I patiently explained how Rebecca’s two former pets had recently died. I patiently explained how I was falling in love.
This dear sweet old woman soon relinquished her professed rights to the little guy. She smiled and told me that there would surely be more kittens in need of a home arriving soon, and she could wait. I thanked her, kissed her on the cheek, and wished her a very Merry Christmas. She wished me luck with both the new kitten and my new love.
Several hours later, I proudly presented Rebecca with her Christmas gift. She immediately fell in love with the little guy. He was just so cute and cuddly. How could she resist?
As we sat in her apartment playing with the new kitten, I asked her what she would name him. She looked at me very devilishly and asked what my father’s name was. I told her that my father’s name was ‘Henry.’
She looked at me again, smiled, purred, and said, “I like that name. My new little kitten’s name will be Henry!â€
I couldn’t believe it. This woman obviously knew how to get to a guy. She had named her cat after my father! I really liked that. She was good – damn good.
I fell in love with Rebecca that Christmas Eve. We married several months later.
And Little Henry quickly became a permanent fixture in our new home. He was a joy to behold as he ran, played, and endeared himself to us. He also quickly and lovingly became part of our new, expanding family. He soon became good friends with Buddy. Wild Thing, however, would have nothing to do with the poor little guy.
But Henry didn’t mind. He got plenty of love and affection from the rest of us. And, not surprisingly, the Holiday Season soon became little Henry’s favorite time of year.
He delighted in watching us decorate the Christmas tree each year, and he sat mesmerized for hours, eagerly staring at the twinkling bright lights all around him.
I bought a toy train set one year and merrily placed it under our Christmas tree. Little Henry stared transfixed at that train for hours as it slowly circled the room – his keen feline eyes wide open and full of wonder. He also jumped with delight every time the little whistle on the locomotive went off.
Henry’s favorite Holiday pastime soon became helping Rebecca wrap Christmas presents. He absolutely loved ribbons and bows – all kinds, colors, and textures. He had to examine each and every one of them very closely as my wife meticulously wrapped our gifts.
Often, he would crawl into an open gift box and excitedly wrap himself up in the colorful Holiday paper. Eventually, he would jump out grinning from ear to ear, evidently very proud of his excellent accomplishment.
Before long, he would dive into another gift box or merrily dash off down the hall with a long red ribbon trailing far behind his gorgeous long white coat.
We often found ribbons and bows scattered throughout the house long after Christmas ended. Henry would somehow find them stashed away in some deep dark closet and excitedly pull them out. He never tired of playing with them.
I sincerely believe that lovable little feline felt Christmas should last all year.
That wonderful little white kitten I had found in that animal shelter that magical, snowy Christmas Eve truly was the perfect Christmas cat, and the perfect Christmas gift for my new love.
Sadly, we recently lost our little Henry to kidney disease. He bravely battled it for more than a year, but eventually, it won, as it always does.
Yet, as sick as Henry was, his spirits still brightened just a little at the last Holiday Season we were privileged enough to spend with him.
Little Henry’s ashes now reside in our bedroom next to his favorite easy chair. I truly believe that poor old Buddy has felt Henry’s loss the most. They had become the best of friends over the years in our new home.
Everyone in our household will feel Henry’s loss for a very long time to come. This inquisitive, lovable, white feline furball freely shared his heart and his soul with all of us. All he asked in return was our love.
He had also brought us all together for the Holidays – and for the rest of our lives. None of us will ever forget his unselfish Christmas gift of love.
We love you little Henry Guy – and we always will.

Okay! Hormone overload (Menopause), can’t stop crying! Not fair!!
*sniff*
What a sweet story (even if its sad) thanks for posting
Tears running down my face making it hard to see so that I can type. Such a wonderful story even if it has a sad ending. I am sure they will see Henry again. What wonderful soul he had.
Hansel is just too cute! Love his little face, makes me want to just hug him up. His cuteness is just off the scale. AWW!
WOW!!!

**Cat Safe After 17-Day Voyage as Stowaway**
London, England (AHN) — Ziggy the cat survived a 17-day sea voyage in a cargo container. The cat traveled more than 2,000 miles from Israel to Britain.
Animal rescue officials say the cat was starving and dehydrated, but otherwise OK. Workers found Ziggy when they opened a crate that had arrived from Israel. Ziggy hid for five hours after being set free, but was finally located by animal shelter workers.
They used a can of tuna fish as bait to capture the cat.
Ziggy started his journey at a factory in Afula in northern Israel. The crate arrived in Liverpool after 10 days. When workers finally opened the crate, Ziggy came running out.
Ziggy is being kept in quarantine for now and is getting veterinary care. Animal rescue workers are trying to find his owners in Israel.
Wow is right! Poor Ziggy, what an ordeal he must’ve had. I’d say keep him in Britain! He’s a celebrity there and probably a stray in his homeland…
Hansel looks like a tiny lion cub with those little round ears. I’m sure he’ll be just as fierce (in a playful way, of course). Love the little guy!
Oh my goodness! Looks like Hansel is looking for poor lil Gretel! My what cute ears he has!
Is anyone getting snow, yet??
Not yet…we have warnings and watches out, but it’s not supposed to start in earnest until late tonight….I’m hope to wake up to a winter wonderland! Course it has to be a near blizzard for us not to have to go into work…we’re Iowans after all… that stands for I (idiots) O (out) W (wandering) A (around)…I can say that I was born and raised here!
I got a laugh from that! Thanks!
Hansel is adorable! And seems rather talkative.
Oh, my mom had a Hansel! What a loud, demanding sweetie you have, and although I consider myself a strong gal, I’m a sucker for loud, demanding sweeties. No demand is too outrageous from a face like that. I’m putty in their hands. Thank you for rescuing these little babies!

CatRancher—Are you making soup tonight? The 4 cold days a year we have in Tampa, I have to make soup. (I’m such a nerd…)
Oh yeah…I’m heading to the store for soup fixens! What kind of wine goes with potato soup? LOL When the first chill of the season comes, I have to make a big pot of chili, then comes the vegetable…. There’s nothing like a simmering pot of soup on the stove to make you appreciate being inside on a cold, wintery day! It’s for the soul, you know, soup, that is….
NO WAY! I made potato soup yesterday!
CatRancher, have you ever had Chuckwagon soup? It is good. My husband loves it.
You must post the recipe!! I love soup!!!
CatRancher—I’m posting some of the best homeade soup I’ve made–it’s one of Rachael Ray’s recipes—I don’t really like her “style”, but she makes some good food!
http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_21535,00.html?rsrc=search
PS–I only use the beef….
Looks like Italian Wedding Soup. Good stuff there!
yep—that’s basically what it is–without the egg…
First the snarky comment – *Any* kind of wine is good, honey! Ha ha. Anyway, you seem like a red wine person. If the soup is hearty then a cabernet or cianti, if it’s a lighter soup a pino gregio or chardonnay. My 2 cents is to drink what ever you like best. It’s your meal, your house and your rules. Enjoy!!
Amen!
Teresa of CA — tis true! That was a tongue-in-cheek question, though. My current love affair with wine has led me to the red zins…have you tried 7 Deadly Zins? It’s one of my current favorites. My girlfriend and I try to hit as many wine tastings as we can to try new stuff. When she got back from Italy, we went on an Italian wine binge for awhile… Wine specialty shops are popping up all over here now (we’re usually a few years behind what’s current on either coast) and we even have a handful of local vineyards. They occassionally produce a good wine… For under $10, Tabor Farms (local vineyard) sold a 2000 vintage of Gold Medal winner, Barn Dance Red, it was GREAT…I wish I would’ve bought a couple of cases. The current vintage of BDR sucks! Good years and bad years
Catrancher..
The 7 Deadly Zins is house wine at my place….. We love it!
If soup is for the soul what is the wine for? Whoopee!
Stay warm I used to love the snow storms in Chicago now if I want to feel cold I take a shower and stand in front of the freezer.
HI Dee! Join the club then. I like soup on cold days with crackers or cornbread. Today would be a soup day but I just baked a ham. Then, it turned off cold. It is cold and rainy here. I didn’t know Meezermama was near OKC. I’m just on the other side of her.
I’ve already gone through, Split Pea, Chicken and Rice, Chicken and Dumplings, Bean and Bacon, and Pork with Turnips, Potatoes and Carrots with Greens. I haven’t done Potatoe yet but another cold front just blew through and I’ll head there next-Thanks for the suggestion!
Rosie—you could be the Soup Nazi’s nemesis! haha (Seinfeld is one of my favorite shows…)
Oh!! Hansel and Gretel got found after they were abandoned! I LIKE this fairy tale! Great names BTW.
Here is a quiz from http://www.drsfostersmith.com. (This is my first time trying to cut and paste a link. Hope it works.)

Couldn’t find the quiz, but signed up for the cataloge! I’m a sucker
Drs Foster and Smith is my favorite place to shop for my cats. They have great prices—the least expensive I’ve found for Frontline and Feliway—and they have good clearance stuff, too.
Mine too! I get their emails and this quiz was in the email. I’ve been wanting to try Feliway. Another great source for low cost pet stuff is http://www.carealotpets.com.
that site says “under construction”…
Teresa–that quiz was pretty accurate! I’m a ferret! haha. Thanks for the post….
OK, I’m not buying Pom juice again…

CatRancher, Chuckwagon soup is a cross between Stew and chili. Here is what I put in it.
2lbs. cooked ground beef
2 cans whole kernel corn
2 cans greenbeans
2 cans english peas
2 cans red beans or pintos
potatoes(cut up)
carrots(sliced)
chili powder
chili seasoning
salt(to taste)
4 cans tomato sauce
onions(fresh or dehydrated) season to your liking
Water(enough to cover everything)
Add some salt, chili powder, chili seasoning and onions to ground beef and cook. Drain meat after cooking. Add meat to pot of vegetables. Vegetables should already be on to simmer while meat is cooking. Add 1 tablespoon or so of chili powder and chili seasoning to pot of vegetables(more or less, depending on your taste). Extra onions can be added to the pot also. Let simmer for an hour or two on low to medium heat, at least until potatoes and carrots are done.
I find the longer it simmers, the better it tastes. This recipe is not exact. It is along the lines of cooking like grandma used to. A pinch of this and a pinch of that! My husband discovered this soup years ago at a restaurant we used to eat at. So, I just made my own. I was able to eat some of it and tell what was in it. It will take a time or two of fixing it, to get it to suit your exact tastes but it is worth it.
Any questions, feel free to ask me. Next , I hope to try making some homemade beans, ham and potato soup or split pea soup. Warning: this recipe makes a big pot of soup! I have a hungry hubby. I use a 16 qt. stock pot!
That sounds really good! I think I’ve seen a recipe for this with macaroni/small pasta as well. Do you ever use that, as well? Oh, and I have to make Spanish Bean soup soon. One of my favorites! With Cuban bread—which is really huge in Tampa.
Yes, I use macaroni and pasta noodles in my soup. I also use rice sometimes. I make a quick Chicken and rice soup, when I’m short on time to cook. I use one large can of Campbell’s Chicken & rice soup and add extra minute rice and some sliced carrots. It takes very little time, if you pre-cook the carrots in the microwave, then add them to the soup to finish cooking. I like to buy canned soup and fix some rice on the side and then add it to the soup. It tastes good with vegetable soup and especially Vegetable beef soup. I just fixed a small pan of beans and ham soup with potatoes and carrots today. When I try something new, I like to fix a small batch first, in case we don’t like it! My hubby liked it, only one bowl left! I made some chicken and vegetable with rice awhile back. It looked like goulash but was tasty! I’m always looking for something quick and tasty. My specialty is stew and chili. I cannot feed my hubby enough chili. What is Spanish bean soup?
Thank you Renee! looks yummy!
I cook by taste, too and almost always modify a recipe. This usually works pretty well….we have chili cookoffs at work and I’ve won twice for best overall chili out of 20 or more entries…I’m bragging, I know….but I never make it the same twice. I have some basic ingredients I use every time, but I think the trick is to make food by seasoning as you go. It should be spicy but not too hot to taste the more subtle flavors. My husband gets a recipe and follows it to the “T”….drives me nuts. You should see him measuring out the ingredients…and I mean EXACTLY….and this is just for Kraft Macaroni and Cheese…ARRRGGGGHHH!
THOMAS: What is the lastest info on Toy, the kitten??
latest on Toy- she is being fostered by a member of Mal’s family, and doing well. Mal brought in pics a few days ago of her homecoming from the vet’s- he opened the box of Kitten Chow and she dove in head first! By the third picture, all you could see was hind legs & tail….she is doing fine, though, and I will keep you posted.

Just heard the weather guy call the upcoming storm a ‘snow monster’.
I am SO busy studying right now, but TDK is set as my home page and I couldn’t resist commenting on this super cutie! Still a tiny little guy with teddy bear ears. I want to snuggle with him right now.
oh he is so cute. i think callies are my fav., but i may change my mind with the next picture LOL
hope everyone can stay warm, the soups sound good to me. we had our first really cold day here, it hit the single digets last night.
Where are you located? Chester awhile back compiled all of the cities, states and countries we are all from. So if you want to just add where you are from.
Thankyou Susan. As I posted the other day if everyone would include either their state or city or both on a regular basis I will compile a new list of where we are all from. For the new posters check back thru the history of the TDK. You might be amazed how far kitty love reaches. Kind of busy now so will start after the holidays. Would appreciate any help I can get for those who can spend more time here than myself.
Give all your fuzz butts a hug. As christmas approaches remember all those who don’t have kitties or family. Feed a stray animal. Don’t turn in disgust from the homeless person asking for help. I once wrote an article about the homeless. It explains much that the average person wouldn’t know. There is also several heart warming stories about the homeless & their pets.
Happy Holidays
Chester
Hansel and Gretel are Minnesota kittens.
Gosh Hansel, you sure do look like one happy kitten. Is it because you found a forever home? You are so cute with that big smile on your face. I love this picture.
I can just HEAR him “meeping”, the little sweetheart!
HANDSOME HANSEL

How absolutely adorable!!! Give him kissies for me!
My heart is captured–I am your servant little fuzz ball!
I’m just so excited. First Laugh of the day came when I got to see Hansel!! What a cutie pie!! Probably no one even reads my posts because they come so late, (or early depending on how you look at it) but I have to at least comment on how cute the kittens are. Hansel makes we want another one 🙂
…”keep your sister away from the oven” Fuzz……..
He sure has beautiful markings and a hugh meow too. Thank heavens for people like you to take in the lost ones. Good luck and have a happy kitten day.
I think that this pictor is sooo cute.
Hello, guys. I am Skeeter’s mom, well, one of them-he was the family’s kitten, though he was fondest of my dad. I want to thank all of you guys so much for all of the support. My entire family thanks you, and be sure that all of your emails to me and your posts will find their way across the street. Whether or not he reads all of them or only the first few is irrelevant; he knows they exist. This man is utter scum. He doesn’t even walk into his front door anymore, he parks in the backyard and crawls through an open window. A little update for all of you, I have found his fiancee. She teaches at Frost Elementary. What’s worse is that she teaches autistic children, children who cannot speak for themselves. You know, Skeeter couldn’t speak for himself, either. Think about this, guys. She is also listed as the piece of trash who bailed him out. She knew what was going on and is fine with helping him out of it. I am just at a loss as to what to do now. Anyone who lives around the Tampa or Riverview area is invited to join me in sorting something out. Im thinking she needs to be the focus. No one knows about her, not even her students. Im thinking a protest or something outside the school. Thank you again so so so much everyone. Feel free to email me. schatzi_28@hotmail.com
Keep in mind guys, this is all information that I have found online or that has been provided to me by supporters. These comments are my OPINION on the subject. I know that I must be careful about what is said on forums and the like, so again, anything I have said is freely traded information that can be found online or is how I FEEL on the subject. While I can say for sure that he committed these atrocities, I cannot say for sure that she did. I merely have my opinion on the subject and I encourage you to share yours.
Thank you for all the comments. It has been fun!!
