yay 1st again! very cute! 🙂
Hi Rose, after reading the whole list of emails about Luke the cat and other items and about adopting children from Russia, I find this site delightful, fun and full of love and encouragenment. I live in a big house, renting the largest bedroom and my boyfriend moved in with me and brought Jasper, but Jasper is about ten yrs. old and I dont think he ever learned to play, and Tim is a bit more rugged with him. But he is learning to come stand near us and loves it when I give him kitty treats or petting. But he still won’t climb into anyones lap.
I am getting a grey and white tabby with blue eyes and persian blood too, he is about six weeks now and still with momma cat and Tims daughters family west of Albany NY. Tim and I live in the adirondacks. I am naming him McCloud, and should be getting him after July 4th.
We live in a big house with the owner who is so very kind and has adopted several dogs with the help of her twenty something sons and daughter. They are all characters and we have had to say good bye and bless the leaving of the two oldest cats but have some half grown kittens owned by one woman and she also owns the daughter of her boyfriends dog and looks and acts and sounds nearly identical as in husky, yellow lab and add golden retriever to her mutthood. She is Zoey, her papa is Zeke, and there is Tank who looks like scooby doo, grumbles a russian bulldog, who is so hefty he sank like a stone when he ran off the end of the pier at lake champlain yesterday. A human friend dove in and rescued him immediately and he is fine today. There is toasty a lab and rottie mix and we have Scotty, Yetta, Buddy, and Arthur the big black and white cat who plays ruggedly with the dogs who can drag him around and he plays tag and such with them and goes on jaunts if they sneak off into the woods.
Unfortunately sometimes someone doesnt close the front door right and tank and zeke go for a run, but they are foolish with porcupines, and we really are trying to keep them contained, but with a five thousand square foot house there are alot of doors and they can be sneaky. I feel terrible that they keep hurting and angering the local porcupine up here on this ridge in the adirondacks and I know their pain. So thats an issue for those of us dog lovers and cat lovers when it comes to living in the woods. Also deer can be chased by dogs and such things. Most of them would welcome anyone in the door, they are all friendly. But sometimes they do sneak away from the house and 3 acres here.
But to my delight when I was having a reiki session on the upper deck that we have access to, at dusk, it was so cute to find Jasper our cat, Buddy and Scotty all playing in the tall grass in the lower part of the yard then all come up on the stone circular steps as I called Buddy, and just roll over, like : Why don’t you come down HERE and pet our tummies, and watch the fireflies?
So yes I love all kinds of animals. I can also say that fishers or vishers as some call them do exist in the adirondacks. They are like a cross between cats and badgers and they are very forward and will come in a house if theres a way and eat the pet food and then leave, but if crossed they can be quite vicious.
We also have wolves ( and I found a den) some packs are hybrid with coyote or dog mixes…. they run the Boquet River valley along Route 9. It is incredible to hear them howling as they run and go up and down the valley and over the south ridge to their den somewhere over there….
I still have yet to see a moose. Ive lived here going on my third summer and I love having four seasons. ( Arthur is a tough cat and I even find that Jasper would rather go out in the snow too, to escape using the litter box. )
I look forward to going to get McCloud and I will try and get some cat pics to this site for all to see. Especially those like when Arthur gets into wrastling with the big dogs. We also have every animal up to date on shots, and spayed or neutered once they are mature enough.
Im going to make sure McCloud gets lots of cuddling too. I like having a secure enough cat who will sit in my lap at times and such. Most of the cats I have had have always been affectionate enough to do that.
so these are a few things people who are owned by their pets can think about, to make sure they do their best to keep their pets safe. When they come home after dusk after harrassing some poor porcupine and have up to three hundred spines in their muzzle, nose and inside their mouth and have to wait any length of time til Sue gets home from her evening shift and have to have midnight surgery to remove, its not fair to either animal. Even just afew spines in the worst places make it difficult to doctor at home. Tank has to be anestisized ( sp), but Zeke sits for it except the time he got them in his mouth. His owner put a block of wood in his teeth to keep his mouth open to pull them out…. because he couldnt afford to pay the vet, but Sue usually just takes whoever is hurt into the vet. Tim and I will take care of our kitties, and I try to get some play in or a leashed walk with tank or zeke so they can get more exercise than just sitting in the yard on a line or stuck in the house. Others here do too, but still we really have to be careful up here. Many of them come up to our room here to visit, especially zeke and zoey. They are pretty well mannered and zeke knows we love him very much and is welcome as long as he isnt muddy. He often sleeps over on the couch at night too. Huskies are pretty independent and very sensitive in nature like wolfs and he knows I am very in tune with that, having been around wolves and siberian huskies and owned some in the past, so I love having him and zoey around.
If anyone hunts deer in the fall, please be sure to dispose of the parts you dont use in trash properly double bagged and dont just throw the parts in a pile in the yard. Any stray dogs or our dogs have come home with definitely cut up parts, and if they eat the flesh and hide and hair and such, they get sick. so it goes both ways, to take care of dogs a person owns in the woods, and for the wild animals. There has to be some real solid care involved.
Sorry this is so long but the subjects need to be posed.
Thankyou, Arby :-)).
Thank you, Arby
this kitten is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo…….. ca-ute and the o’s could go on forever
OMG!!! What a beautiful kitten! His markings are so bold and his eyes are so blue! He is a stunning kitty! I love his name! Thanks for giving him a home!
He looks so contented on his red blankie! I guess he picked the right home…
May the Fuzz be with you…
…….don’t underestimate the *fuzz*…………………………….
This kitty has all the makings of one very louche tabby!
…ahem…..Alice, get off my stage!!………………..schnoort……
He is cute! If didnt have 5 cats, I would take him in!
AND I SAY YET AGAIN TABBIES ARE FABBIE 🙂 the homeless ones are so appriciatetive of a nice place to live …..My louis greets me every day with a leap into the arms and a purr 🙂
(*CUDDLE FUZZ !!!*)
I wish someone would inform my tabby, Atticus, whom I rescued during Hurricane Frances, that he should be much more appreciative of being a pampered (chubby) house cat.
I would keep him, too!
Bless you for rescuing him and giving him a good home, with playmates, no less! Life will be good for this little munchkin. I am sure he will give you much love and fun!
what a cute tiny boy!! im sure he will have a wonderful home and family. lucky him!
he looks a lot like my allie katz when she was his age! awwwwwwww!!!!
If you stroke him now he shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine!
WHAT BIG EARS YOU HAVE! so precious! and all cuddled up in a tiny fuzz ball just waitin for some loving!
i love to hear stories where people “put others (people/creatures alike) before themselves” – KUDOS!
however, with those penitrating eyes – Luke Skywalker looks as though he’s plotting his next “mischief manuever”.
*MINI FUZZ*
His makeup is perfect!
Sweet little kitty…so cute…and so loved! May the “force” be with him…. 🙂
So many kittehs seem to *know* where to go for help, don’t they? I would have to really stop and work on it to count all the kittehs that have come to my back yard/back door over the years that I’ve taken in. They either end up becoming mine (or am I theirs?) or foster kittehs that I have found homes for.
He’s a cutie for sure!!
Cats do KNOW! I was stopped at an electronic entry gate to a storage facility when a cat jumped up through the open window of my truck, into my lap! I was a bit taken aback…but I could see that she was a nursing momma cat. My husband and I went back later and the momma cat with her five kittens trailing behind came out to greet us. We found homes for all the kittens, except Mary, who we kept for our own. The momma cat disappeared after she had “recruited” us to find homes for her kittens!
What a great story! It kind of reminds me of the movie, “To Dance With the White Dog.” It starred Hume Cronyn and his (real life) wife Jessica Tandy. Did anyone see this?? What a tear-jerker! The mother cat disappearing after business was finished, is reminiscent of that movie. Great family flick!
I did see that movie….a beautiful, haunting story…I wonder if it’s out on DVD?!?
I just looked that movie up on Netfix and no, it’s not on DVD! Bummer, it sounds so good. I saved it for when it’s finally made into digital.
Kim, so you haven’t seen it yet?
Kim–(part II) I just found it on Netflix.
Dee, no, I haven’t seen it. I found it on Netfix but it said SAVE, which I did. The release date in unknown. In a movie that old, that just means it’s not been made into the digital format yet. Hopefully it won’t be very long, it sounds so good. I loved Hume and Jessica, they were so good together!
Kim—whoops, wasn’t paying full attention to the Netflix thing…sorry. It was a Hallmark film. Those are usually such beautiful movies. And I love Jessica Tandy—Driving Miss Daisy is one of my favorite movies.
Cats know, here’s another story. We had a cat that hung around our workplace. She always had litters of kittens in the spring. When she had some kittens that were disabled, she dropped them off at the doorstep to our home for the most physically disabled on our campus!! And they always found someone to take them in!
Funny..I don’t remember Luke Skywalker being that cute…or hairy! He is adorable, and I’m glad you were able to give him a good home. Hee hee…I have you now!
*rough n’ ready* *FuZz*
not sure who is luckier… you or the kitten! so sute!
He’s so cute! Very nuce “M” mark on his forehead..
He looks very content on his red blanket! 🙂
What a serene boy. I love his little freckles.
Ha! louche!
How many channels does he get, anyway? With those ears he looks like he could pick up HDTV easily on 120 stations.
Fantabulous Fuzz!
Please have this kitten declawed. Cats must be declawed while they are young. Some are against declawing cat, but clearly, those people are not living in reality.
Reality is cats should be declawed at a young age.
Like, where did that come from??
*THOMAS*
If you had a puppy/dog and as we all know dog are pron to chew on shoes, furniture and urinate on rugs etc. would you have the dogs teeth removed and regarding the urination process (I don’t even want to think!!!) If you are a pet owner YOU as the owner has the responsibility to *_TRAIN_* your animal.
Take a moment and think about what we are all trying to say.
If you have a child…(No wait, DON’T!) because children do things just like animals do that they aren’t supposed to do. And we train our children what is not allowed.
*GOOD LUCK IN LIFE THOMAS, BECAUSE YOU WILL NEED IT!*
True, if you are going to PULL OUT HIS/HER little nails it should be done young _because_ if he/she had it done while they were older they would rip out your nails.
Do your research! it is inhuman!!!!!
_Anyone_ with a little patience can teach a cat not to scratch the furniture. Try it…………………..
Exactly!
Before Kittenmaster decides to end this exchange of information, the procedure of declawing ISN’T JUST THE CAT’S CLAWS! It IS the equivalent of having the tips of your fingers AMPUTATED to your first joint. It isn’t like the vet removes the root of the nail and leaves the rest of the “digit” intact. It Is AMPUTATION, and a 5 minute part wrestle/manicure is NOTHING compared declawing the animal. Also, you would be hard-pressed to find a veterinarian who STILL performs the procedure!!
Yes they can and a spray bottle of plain water works wonders….it is sooo very not good to declaw them!
No…no…no…no….PLEASE don’t declaw… I have 8 adult cats and none are declawed. They can be trained to use a scratching post….make a “tea” out of catnip and spray in onto the post to “entice” your kitty.
Start trimming his claws now, get him used to having his paws handled. Give Luke a special treat after each “trimming.” I find pure meat baby food — chicken, beef, lamb, turkey — is a great reward, all kitties go berserk for it!
That suggestion of “catnip tea” is ingenious. i have to remember that. the last two cats i have gotten (Tawney – from a friend whose relative got her from the APL) had already declawed her front paws; and Jaz (i got myself from the APL) already had his front paws declawed as well. I’ve always thought (in addition to being inhumane treatment), declawing a cat places them at a disadvantage should they “run off” or get lost … case and point, like Darla – Jenna’s cat from comment #30.
One thing the vets are really encouraging now is getting “caps” on each claw, but those aren’t permanent and the other suggestion is to clip them as you would your own nails or file them. but like i said, doing that “catnip tea” and just training them is so much better.
Declawing animals is wrong! How would you feel if someone had your fingernails ripped out! Have you heard of training?!
Tom,
What kinda sense is that?! What _____ told you that?!
The opposition is not an attack on you but rather it’s about an aversion to inflicting pain on the innocent when it suits us. I don’t think you are stupid or a terrible man but this isn’t about you. I’m sure you are successful but really, what does that have to do with the issue ? It’s about the agony inflicted during a declaw.
Have you ever witnessed such a brutal procedure? It is amputation. I have seen it and it is not pretty.
There are alternatives to declawing. Try clipping the claws and eventually, they will be so short as to be nubs. Get a scratching post and they will use that. My two fully armed cats love the scratching post. A loud “NO!” usually works well if they go elswhere.
It’s your right to defend your position but understand that legions of fellow cat lovers would disagree with you simply on the idea that declawing can be avoided by using other methods to prevent scratching.
Linda and Gal named Rose make attacks on my character. If they say such words to my face, I must have satisfaction.
You are not always home when cat wants to rip furniture, rip house, rip children. What say you then?
Yes, operation is painful. You think spay/neuter operation is pleasant for kitten? Same thing!
They must have it. It is good for everybody.
*THOMAS PLEASE READ*
*Spaying or Neutering Is Good for Your Pet*
Spaying and neutering helps dogs and cats live longer, healthier lives.
Spaying and neutering can eliminate or reduce the incidence of a number of health problems that can be very difficult or expensive to treat.
Spaying eliminates the possibility of uterine or ovarian cancer and greatly reduces the incidence of breast cancer, particularly when your pet is spayed before her first estrous cycle.
_Neutering eliminates testicular cancer and decreases the incidence of prostate disease._
*Spaying or Neutering Is Good for You*
Spaying and neutering makes pets better, more affectionate companions.
Neutering cats makes them less likely to spray and mark territory.
Spaying a dog or cat eliminates her heat cycle. Estrus lasts an average of six to 12 days, often twice a year, in dogs and an average of six to seven days, three or more times a year, in cats. Females in heat can cry incessantly, show nervous behavior, and attract unwanted male animals.
Unsterilized animals often exhibit more behavior and temperament problems than do those who have been spayed or neutered.
Spaying and neutering can make pets less likely to bite.
Neutering makes pets less likely to roam the neighborhood, run away, or get into fights.
*Spaying and Neutering Are Good for the Community*
Communities spend millions of dollars to control unwanted animals.
Irresponsible breeding contributes to the problem of dog bites and attacks.
Animal shelters are overburdened with surplus animals.
Stray pets and homeless animals get into trash containers, defecate in public areas or on private lawns, and frighten or anger people who have no understanding of their misery or needs.
*Should I Declaw My Cat?*
Declawing is a procedure whereby a veterinarian amputates the end digit and claw of a cat’s paws—similar in scope to cutting off a person’s finger at the last joint. The Humane Society of the United States opposes declawing when done solely for the convenience of the owner. Scratching is a natural behavior for cats and can be directed to appropriate items.
Declawing is almost never medically or behaviorally necessary, and should never be considered routine or done preemptively. The success of campaigns for spaying and neutering may have inadvertently normalized the idea of routine surgical intervention to reshape cat behavior. This idea is reinforced by the linkage between the two practices in small-animal veterinary practices, where declaw and spay/neuter packages are routine. Kittens begin to retract their claws at 28 days of age and begin to scratch at 35 days of age. Thus eight-week old kittens are just beginning to scratch when they are adopted into new homes and can be introduced immediately to scratching posts and other acceptable objects to satisfy their need to scratch.
THOMAS YOU MAY BE EDUCATED IN YOUR LINE OF WORK – BUT UNFORTUNATELY YOU ARE NOT EDUCATED IN THE HUMANE CARE OF PETS. I AM SORRY THAT YOU ARE TAKING THIS PERSONALLY, BUT SO ARE YOUR PETS. BEST OF LUCK TO YOUR CATS.
You cannot compare the reasons for neutering to the sole reason for declawing. They are NOT the same thing and you know that.
It takes a great deal of energy to defend a position with which very few would agree. Most people would sensibly choose to be kind to their cats.
As I mentioned, clip the nails on a regular basis; just keep clipping back until the nails are like nubs. No pain, no problems with scratching.
Provide something else for them to scratch on.
Before you leave the house, throw a cover on the furniture where they scratch. All simple solutions and so easy to do!
Maggie, I hope your comments weren’t directed at me. I *DO NOT* believe in declawing re-read my statements above!
I do hope that your comments WERE directed to THOMAS and his _uneducated_ actions towards his innocent pets.
Hi Linda,
My comments were directed at Thomas, not you! Next time I reply, I’ll make sure to preface with the intended person’s name!
Like you, I am also opposed to declawing.
I liked your piece about all the good reasons , some excellent arguments there.
My first post to Thomas was on 27/06/06 to which he replied, still defending his position.
Maggie
Maggie,
A comment that Thomas made to me was erased by the K-Master. It was a two letter abbreviation is you know what I mean. Can you imagine the immaturity of this guy?
Linda
Hi Linda,
That’s unbelievable, finally resorting to profanity….it’s the refuge of a weak mind.
I just feel sorry for the kitties who have endured such a brutal procedure. And for those who will in the future. Thank goodness we know there is a better way!
M.
Yooo hoooo, kitten master? Oh kitten master, where are yoooouuuuu?
I won’t delete this thread for the moment – let’s just assume that Tom has been mislead, and can use these comments to learn that declawing is cruel although it is, unfortunately, still a fairly widespread practice in the US. In many European countries it is forbidden under the terms of the European Convention for the Protection of Pet Animals, while in the UK verts won’t perform such an action, as it’s considered a mutilation.
There is a wonderful alternative to declawing that is humane and protects skin and furniture. It called soft paws. They are little rubber sheaths that you glue over the claws. They are available at most vet offices. You have them re-done every three months when they start to fall off. Basically they are just there to cover the sharp tip of the claws but do no harm to the cat and are not a permanent aleration. Perfect for people with cats and small children.
I was wondering about no one mentioning softpaws yet. I don’t own a cat, but I was told by multiple cat owners that softclaws on a kitten is the best way to go: it allows the kitten to happily explore without worry about destroying anything around it.
Kittenmaster—I did not realize declawing was banned in most of Europe and the UK. Very evolved. It’s getting more and more difficult to find vets who will declaw in the US–thank goodness. There really are SO many alternatives. And if your cat does claw something—- that just goes with the territory of pet ownership. If that is more than can be tolerated, DON”T GET A CAT!
He can use “The Force” on me anyday!!! Anything you wish, Master Jedi Fluffins!!!
Looks like Luke is using a Jedi mind trick to make us take a nap. Not a bad idea!
*More Cat Folklore*
In the 1500’s, houses had thatched roofs – thick straw, piled high, with no wood underneath. It was the only place for animals to get warm, so all the pets… dogs, cats and other small animals, mice, rats, bugs lived in the roof. When it rained it became slippery and sometimes the animals would slip and fall off the roof. Hence the saying, “It’s raining cats and dogs.” (Related bit of trivia: There was nothing to stop things from falling into the house. This posed a real problem in the bedroom where bugs and other droppings could really mess up your nice clean bed. So, they found if they made beds with big posts and hung a sheet over the top, it addressed that problem. Hence those beautiful big 4 poster beds with canopies.)
In ancent times, a criminal’s punishment sometimes included have his tongue cut out; the tongue was fed to the King’s pets. Hence, there is some historical truth to the phrase “cat got your tongue?”.
To keep a cat off your car, put a hat on your hood.
In the early 16th century, a visitor to an English home would always kiss the family cat.
A cat on top of a tombstone meant certainly that the soul of the departed buried was possessed by the devil.
According to legend, the ‘M’ marking on the forehead of the tabby cat was created by the prophet Mahomet as he rested his hand lightly on the brow of his favorite cat.
An American superstition: When moving to a new home, put the cat in through the window, not the door, so that it will not leave.
According to legend, cats were created when Noah’s ark became infested with rats. Noah commanded the lion to sneeze and out came a cat!
In Egypt, it was once believed that the life-giving rays of the sun were kept in a cat’s eyes at night for safekeeping.
In the Netherlands, cats were not allowed in rooms where private family discussions were going on. The Dutch believed that cats would definitely spread gossips around the town.
Use the Force, FuZz
This is one very handsome Tabby Kit…it remains to be seen how he will fulfill his birthright of a Louche Behavior Pattern!
Thank you to Our Rosie for all the Edification she provides to us, FuZZ Folks!
I missed Rosie’s Louch Behavior Pattern info. What was it?
….ahem..one more time….’louche’ as in ‘douche’ noy ‘louch’ as in ‘couch’…..HYAK…….
It’s as simple as looking up “louche” in the dictionary!
Primarily attributed to tabbys, my own Emily, who is black and white, breaks the pattern by exhibiting such behavior when my friend, her “Uncle Davy” comes over: she rolls over on her back and shoots him an adoring look…David even said to her once, “Is that any way for a Lady to act?!”
*The force is strong in this one*
EVERYBODY!!! My cat, Darla, is missing! If anyone lives in or near Illinois, if you see a cat that is six years old, female, eight 1/2 pounds, a tabby that looks like DW, a cat from a few days ago! Blue eyes, brown, gray, with some tan! Please, please, please, keep your eyes open if you live near or in Illinois!!!!!
Thank You
ok, jenna i’ll try
Good luck in finding Darla! Is Glendale Heights and Paletine near you – my brother and wife are in Glendale Hegiths and her parents are in Paletine…if that is near you, i’ll tell them to keep a look out. Again, i hope you find her!
Next week my wife and I are adopting two children from Russia! They are brother & sister! Caitlyn & Christopher are their names! She is three and he is four! They are my first kids! We have to take a flight to Russia, get the kids, stay there for a few days, and catch a flight home!
Congratulations, Ben! What a big responsibility for someone so young! Congrats!
Ben…that’s wonderful! I found this in my bag of tricks….
*An Old Russian Prayer*
Anonymous
Hear our prayer, Lord, for all animals,
May they be well-fed and well-trained and happy;
Protect them from hunger and fear and suffering;
And, we pray, protect specially, dear Lord,
The little cat who is the companion of our home,
Keep her safe as she goes abroad,
And bring her back to comfort us..
Thanks, Dee from Tampa! I appreciate your poem and your kind thoughts.
He has a very self-possessed look on his little face.
Wonderful!
Okay, it’s official — I love Luke! What a face! Thank you so much for taking in this little sweetie. He looks so happy! Please give him kisses from me! May you have many happy years together!
Looks like this little Jedi had a rough Knight. Luke’s owners are indeed Light Sabers!
LUCAS FUZZ
LOL!!! Rough knight, Light Sabers/life savers — I get it! there’s probably another pun in there, too!
Such a sweet little fuzz. His little light hairs on his back remind me of porcupine quills…but I’m sure they are soft and perfect for snorgling!
awesome name for a kitty! LOL!!!
he’s sooooooooo adorable! what a cutie pie!
Dee of Orlando,
you said before ‘what a big responsibility for someone so young.’ How do you know i’m young?
Because you said yesterday that your dog is ten, and you’ve had him since you were eleven. You said you got him when he was a newborn. That means you are 21.
Ben you should be happy to be young. Those were the days. But when you reach the 30’s, it’s a totally different story. :-‘(
Laura—I respectfully disagree. Each decade has great offerings.
Personally I think all ages are fine. But if you worry about your hair turning gray, that happenes at different ages. Like two of my brothers. Jake is 37 and still has no grays, but my other brother, Tye, is 35 and is getting grays. So gray does not matter.
Congrats Ben!!!!!
Thanks, Rose! I just need some advice. You said you adopted 2 children, so what should we say if they ever ask “who is my real daddy/mommy?”
Ben,
If the children do ever ask you such a question, tell them how you really feel. Tell them how it doesn’t matter if you are his “real” daddy, because you love them. Love is all that matters.
😉
Ben—sorry for eavesdropping, but here is a really good article on the topic…..
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/12/20/earlyshow/living/parenting/main661940.shtml
Thanks Dee, Rose, and Susan!
God’s Blessing on you and your wife. Tell them they were born in your heart.
Yes, Ben, God’s Speed on you and your wife’s journey to meet your twins, and a happy, blessed life to you all!
That’s fantastic!!!! 🙂
Thank you, emilyrose. We appreciate your kind words and thoughts. God bless us all.
Unless it was a very long labor and delivery the children are not twins. Ben said his future daughter is three and his future son is four. If the labor was that long – ouch to the max!
Ben: You & your wife are blessed to be getting your twins. Please share pictures with the Fuzz Family. Safe trip. If you need any “children tips”, just let me know. My daughters are 19 & 16 and I think they are perfect! You are in for so much fun! debrastaylor@earthlink.net Please send pictures! Congratulations!
Thanks, Deb. I will try to send you some pictures. 🙂
I just hope the children aren’t scared of cats & dogs.
Ben, DO take note of Deb’s e-mail! I just recieved a gift from her over the weekend – 2 ginger kittend she fostered since they were 4 days old. When she says her daughters are perfect – well, they are beautiful, kindhearted, intelligent lovely young women – like their mom! Yes!!! Please share pics with us! And don’t worry about them fearing cats & dogs…The FuZZies will train them not to be afraid!!
Rose: You literally brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for the compliment. I do think my daughters are perfect, probably like many mothers. But, in my case, I have had nothing but joy from them. No terrible twos, no teenage angst (sp?), just fun, love & happiness. I am indeed blessed.
Ben: Your twins will love animals! I promise! Good luck and I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
LOL thanks 🙂
*The FUZZ is strong in your family, pass on have learned…*
Is one of the other kitties named Mara Jade? Heheh. (Obscure SW novels reference. Everyone else will go “Huh?”)
I know of this Mara Jade of which you speak. Great name for a fuzz with green eyes! To everyone else out there Timothy Zahn wrote several Lucas sanctioned Star Wars books that continue the story of Luke, Hahn, Leia and Chewie.
May the Fuzz be with you.
huh? LOL
Such a precious and sweet little baby! We love him. God bless Luke and you for rescuing him. 🙂
Let’s talk about siblings my little topic group, (Joanna, Leo, Me, mandy, Phoebe, Matthew, Zak, Samantha, Ben, and whoever else has something to say!)
My family, (childhood), has nine other kids!
There are four boys and five girls. (including me).
The oldest of the clan is Jake-37
Then Tye-35
Julia-30
Daniel-26
Me-21
Tereasa-19
Rachel-16
Dakota-12
Patricia-8
In my house there were three kids including me!
Mary Opal is now 37
Jayna Marie is now 35
And then me- ___ (you pick the age)
Well, while you guys were sharing houses and rooms, I was the only child!
I was one of six…AND…the only girl…I never shared a bedroom! I was spoiled…still am! I love my brothers dearly!
Little Luke Skywalker is a major stud…I can’t wait to see what Han Solo looks like!!!!! Toodles~
This kitty looks like he is primed and ready for what I call “the Elvis lip.” My tabby girl Cat5 makes this face (I still haven’t quite figured out what it means but I’m getting there) where she raises one side of her top “lip” and looks at me askance. It’s a great “WTF are you doing” look.
Luke is a precious little guy. Big “reception” ears, pretty markings and colors, & beautiful eyes that just woke up from a snooze. How content and happy. Maybe ready for another cuddly nap?
What a handsome kitty.
It’s Tigger fuzz! Looks like my 3 yr. old cat Tigger. What a character!! Luke’s adorable and well loved I’m sure. Keep the cuties coming!
What a handsome little man… and appears very likely to live up to his namesake. Beautiful eyes!
He also seems very content. I’m thankful you guys took him in.
Time For A Nap FUZZ!
Dee, Linda, Rosie, et al,
PLEASE do not confuse this “other Thomas” for me. You all have been very supportive of me lately, and I would not dream of doing anything to break that bond. You all KNOW that I sign off all of my posts with a “T”, which this other does not do. Things are getting worse for me up here as well. She is moving out Friday and leaving me in a 3 bdrm house by myself and empty. I don’t know what I am going to do. The only good news I have had is that all of my tests were negative for colon cancer. At least I have that & 2 cats that love me. Later. T (RangeRatt@yahoo.com)
Hey T!
Thanks for the “heads up” on how to ID your posts! I did not think for an instant that you were the individual who believes in declawing, period! I’m going to e-mail ya today (Tuesday), I’d like to have a chat w//you!

Wow. I never knew declawing was so inhumane, or I never would have let my dad get my cat Seamus declawed. I feel so awful right now, knowing what he went through, especially because when he was healing from the surgery all those years ago, I accidentally stepped on one of his paws. My poor baby… never again will any cat I own be declawed, and I will spread the news.
Don’t beat yourself up too much, Rori. 20 years ago, before there was such talk/knowledge of declawing, I had my kitten declawed. In the US, it really hasn’t been considered mutilation for the last 10 or so years. I would never declaw a cat again. Thanks for spreading the news….knowledge is power!

This little fella reminds me of a young Paul Newman. Just call him “Cool Paw Luke!”
The little gray kitty Luke Skywalker is so cute! He looks very contented in his new home.
that is so cute!!!!
looks like my tiger
my only concern is where this kitten came from(sure Luke is cute-they’re ALL cute) and if the cats you are feeding are spayed/neutered. it’s the correct thing to do and not enuf money is NOT AN EXCUSE. so if they aren’t “fixed” you should stop feeding them….
Hi i am the one who posted this baby! We have yet to find out where he came from. His paws were really rough and infected so the vet believes that he came a long way over rough surfaces. The kittens outside have not been fixed but I have been talking with my neighbors about rounding them up and taking them to the vet. There are about seven of them. My surrounding neighbors feed them as well so they are never truely hungry. My two other inside cats are fixed so I am not worried about either of them getting pregnant. Their names are Cheddar(2 yrs old) and she is a black beauty. Caramel is ten months old and she’s my big beautiful calico. They have taken Luke in and fell in love with him. I catch them cuddling all the time. He has gotten so much bigger and happier! He is truely appreciative of his new life with us.
…also we will not declaw. It is out right mutilation and I will not put such an innocent baby through something like that. I have ordered Soft Paws in kitten size and they are blue! I tell him he has little sabers on each of his claws. We have a life-size poster of Yoda in my husbands recreation room and Luke takes many naps curled up behind him. He is so unbelievably cute!
If you think he was cute then, check out our little Luke Skywalker a bit more grown and finally learning to use his light saber : http://www.damienbenoit.com/images/youngluke.jpg
